I finished 7Seeds last night!!! It was so good!! I’m so sad it’s over but also I’m so happy because I’ve been reading this FOREVER!!

The storytelling was truly amazing. I need to talk to people about this!!!

I just finished reading 7Seeds by Yumi Tamura and it was an INCREDIBLE series. Simply amazing. 10/10.

The series follows characters that were frozen and sent into the future to help humanity survive after a meteor destroys the Earth. It follows 5 teams of 7 (Winter, Spring, Summer A, Summer B and Fall) as they try and make their way in this new world.

This is my third manga by Yumi Tamura and it really cinches up I think that she is the best manga author of all time. Her works are incredible. This story has everything, romance, tragedy, action, horror, it is hard to put down and hard to look away.

Unfortunately it's not officially translated but luckily the whole series is up on mangadex thanks to the work of the true heroes -- fan translation teams.

Give it a read if you love post-apocalypse survival fiction. You won't regret it.

I actually really dislike the early 2000s digital soft shading that a lot of manga leaned into heavily during this time period, but no joke I think the manga covers for 7SEEDs is some of the most gorgeous manga artwork I've ever seen. I genuinely started reading the manga based on how pretty the first volume looked. (although the shockingly high score on MAL didn't hurt)

(this is about a post apocalypse where the landscape is almost like a jungle, with exceptionally dangerous plants and insects)

Anyway look at these.

Jedes Land ist damit einverstanden, eine Anzahl gesunder junger Menschen durch Kryotechnik zu erhalten, damit sie die Zerstörungen überleben können. Nachdem ein Computer festgestellt hat, dass die Erde wieder sicher für das menschliche Leben ist, wird jede Gruppe wiederbelebt.

7Seeds Stage Play!

New promotional picture for the Spring-focused 7 Seeds stage play.

Some interesting things, there:

-At the bottom, under the title, are multiple photographs of scenery depicting nature at different seasons. 1 in color, representing spring, then 4 in black and white, with the last one being halfway cut. Looks like a hint that the producers might be interested in making more stage plays for other parts of the manga

-The presence of Mozu and Aramaki seems to indicate this stage play might cover content from volume 5-6. Which I hadn't thought about but isn't too surprising a possibility.

-On the other hand, the characters on the left? They very much look like the cleaning robots builders from the big final arc of the story! I'd be very curious to learn what role they'd have to play in this particular play.
