I said after 8x16 that, at the very least, the whole thing with the closed casket and the authorities keeping Bobby's body for two weeks was a get out clause in case Tim ever changed his mind and wanted to bring Bobby back. And that's still true. Bobby's death can still be retconned at any time. But I really hoped it wouldn't be the case - I hoped that this season would end with a reveal that Bobby was alive, somewhere, somehow, because that would mean there was a plan all along. That Tim didn't just kill his main character on a whim. That he didn't totally drop the story threads set up in 8a and the first half of 8b because he got distracted.

But here we are.

That episode was objectively... fine. But after a string of episodes designed to tear the 118 apart, we needed more than one rousing speech from Chimney to bring them back together. That's not to say his speech wasn't lovely - it was, and if that was his application for the position of Captain, I'm all for it. But I wanted more character-driven moments and less of the disaster. I wanted Athena and Chimney to really talk, not to have the convenient near-death of a side character bring them back together. I wanted to delve more into Hen's decision not to take the Captain role. I wanted to see Buck crash out and actually deal with his grief. I wanted to see Maddie before she gave birth, not just being a silent figure holding a baby in a hospital bed.

And then there's the Buddie of it all.

The Buddie train was so clearly set on the tracks in 8x09 and 8x11 but it's come to a screeching halt. It hasn't been derailed and I still believe the plan is to start it up again in season 9, because really what else are they going to do with those two? Give Eddie another bland girlfriend? Introduce someone else for a love triangle? Please no. But as things stand, it is a thread that has been left dangling with no satisfying conclusion.

Tim really needs to pull his head out of his ass next season and remember what it is people actually love about this show. It's the characters and the relationships that have taken hold of our hearts. That's what keeps people coming back week after week, not the spectacle of another unlikely disaster.

Lawbin Wano Analysis Part 2 - you're not alone anymore

I actually want to wait Law to reappear before writing this analysis but we probably need to wait a long time for him to reappear *sigh* So I will just finish writing this :'( this is the last part but also imo the most romantic part haha

Since I have talked about this chapter for sooo many times, so I will try to talk about something that I haven't mention before. But if I said the same thing again, just scroll through haha -> *INCLUDE MANGA SPOILERS*

Chapter 1055: Learning history with you

my bias ass want to say they are literally dating here!!! again I think I have been reading too much fanfic so in my mind, they definitely went on a date after I don't care what other says.

The little bickering they have in the beginning is so adorable! Like Robin knew exactly why Law follow along but she needs to tease him a bit haha

Law searching through the whole palace or the whole flower capital just to find Robin is just really cute to me. You can tell Law really cares about Robin a lot, otherwise he wouldn't notice that she's not with her crew and he wouldn't spend time just to look for her. Like why did people missed that?!

Law trying to explain himself is also so funny, like yea sure...of course she is really suspicious that you need to find her haha I think someone also mentioned he looks like a high school boy trying to get close with his crush so pretend to be interested with the same hobby?! that's so funny

I also did a bit of research about hyena, they have excellent hearing and smell which is what Law referring here. Hyena also have a metaphor for people who are greedy for money or privilege which I think is not applicable in this case. But I'm surprised that there's a lore that hyena have long been thought to be a beast that can change sex. So did Oda put a little foreshadowing here?! And I think Oda purposely make it ambiguous here, he has a lot of ways to make them find poneglyph together without making Law a stalker (jk) But he has to shown it in this way that seems like Law is interested to Robin. He is definitely stirring something up here!

Robin demeanour is also really different in front of Law. Me and the other lawbin enjoyers have talked about this in the discord before. When Robin flirting with other men, her tone is full of confidence and showing that she is a grown and mature women. And I think she always acting tough and has a "big sister" energy as a habit because of her past experience. She acted like this because that's her mechanism to protect herself. She grew up in an environment that she's afraid people will abandon her or hurt her when she is showing any weakness.

Not that I think her flirting is not genuine or being a "big sister" is not her real personality, she definitely is complimenting the person and she definitely want to take care of the straw hats like a big sis or mom.

What I'm trying to say is she doesn't show her weakness or her soft side to others easily. And I think she will show it only when she thinks she can rely or trust that person. And the only time she has shown her soft and cute side outside of straw hats is in front of Law!!

I have read some japanese readers' comments and some of them is saying usually Robin will say "ずるいわ…" to others (even to her own crew) but for Law, she said "ずるい…" which is a closer way to communicate. I will translate a few comments from japanese fans here: After all, Robin-chan doesn't seem to have her usual older sister vibe when she's with Law, right? Also, this time she said 'that's not fair… (zurui...)' but if it were with someone else, she would have said 'that's not fair…(zuruiwa....)' with a slightly different tone. This difference is quite significant; in many ways, it feels like there's something special. (source: ひさぎ@hisagi_cfa85c) I started shipping Lawbin from Chapter 1055. Normally, she would probably say 'That's not fair…(zuruiwa...)' but with Torao, she said 'That's not fair…(zurui...)' It feels like they have a classmate-like vibe that's different from Franky, Zoro, or Sanji, and I really like it. (source: aria2372)

+ plus one more comment from Chapter 996! It's probably because 'you're the survivor of Ohara and researching the Void Century' that he told you, but even knowing that, the choice of words is surprising. It's like a typical behavior or phrase one would use towards someone of the opposite sex they want to be conscious of, so I was really surprised. (source: user-xk4ru8cv9q)

And yes there are LOTS of comments about Robin's "it's not fair...(ずるい…)" and Law's "I told you because it's you (お前だから話した)" that the wording they chose is surprisingly ambiguous and hinting that they have a close relationship. And they wouldn't act like this with other people. I think that's one of the reasons why lawbin is so much popular in Japan because they can read the tone and wordings with more depth.

Also, as @/cericebelle mentioned we haven't seen Law called Robin since zou so maybe they changed how they called each other already?! Like maybe Law will called Robin as "Robin" instead of "Nico-ya" and Robin will start calling "Law" instead of "tora-o" again.

*BELOW HAVE MANGA SPOILERS* Now that we knew Clover's brother died just because he is a D. And we know that having a D in your name is dangerous which can get yourself killed, can we all agree that Law NEED to trust Robin in order to tell her his full name?! Especially he grew up with a childhood that he doesn't trust people easily. Like Law just tell her you like her! (my delulu again)

Since we are talking about the "true name" culture in Japan, I want to add this in the last analysis. I saw @/happytact reblog that Tales from Earthsea is written by an American author Ursula K. Le Guin. I'm really sorry for the misinformation and putting out the wrong references ><! There are so many anime that have the true name concept and yet I picked out the wrong one -.-

I will add more references to it, in "Spirited Away", the story is focus on true name, Chihiro signed contract by giving her true name and she needs to take her name back in order to go back reality. At the end, Haku also found his true name and he regains his freedom again. In "Natsume's Book of Friends", if you know the monster's true name you can control it. And in "Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle", sakura and syaoran they fell in love and saved each other along their journey, they confessed with each other and only at the end, they exchanged their real name. Not to mention there are lots of anime that express exposing your true name is important or dangerous like "Death Note" or "Your Name" . Telling your true name has a significant meaning in japanese culture, it almost means you're giving yourself to the person (only depends on the context, sometimes it's implied) so when Law told Robin his true name voluntarily, it's really important!!!

When they are looking old wano in the little tunnel and standing really close to each other is way too cute!! When did you see Law self-willingly to get this close with a person that's outside of his crew?! (well maybe except when he is mad at Zoro and trying to fight him haha) Also because Robin teased him in the beginning so he flexed his ability in front of her and try to make her annoyed is so funny. Law act cool in front of anyone but being a little kid in front of his crush is just so him!!! They really show off a classmate vibe here!

so y'all probably know one of the arguments from lawbin haters is "Law is just interested in the road poneglyph" "It's just for the plot" I always laugh at these comments because did you see Law didn't even get close to the poneglyph?! LOL he just standing behind like "I'm good" When Robin stand on a level higher to get close with the poneglyph, Law is also just down there.

And if he is only interested to the poneglyph, he didn't need to the flex in front of her to see the under water wano. He can just stand outside of the tunnel like Sukiyaki.

So in my opinion, Law wants to accompany with Robin. Not that he is completely non-interested to the poneglyph but I think most of it is because he is interested to learn history and find road poneglyph with Robin. Also, it really seems like he wants to get close with her and protect her from behind.

Oh no that's the end of their interactions T^T there is one more from 1056 but I already wrote a long post about it so I wouldn't repeat it again. Hopefully we can see them interact again soon so I can write more analysis!!!

4. Are any of your OCs part of a larger story or project? If not, what sorts of things do you use them for (drawing, daydreaming, etc)?

most of the ocs that i tag on posts are actually ocs i use in danganronpa roleplays/general roleplay things! i like it when my characters are heavily tied to a job/title that they hold because you can get some really fun complexes out of it, and it also lets me research things i wouldn't really have an excuse to otherwise, like mortuary work or gang stuff. arnold and reese (both ocs that i need to add to my masterpost, whoops) are the odd ones out, as they're both from a script i've been workshopping for the past few years

5. Do you tend to keep OCs for a long time?

oh absolutely. i can't stand the idea of giving them away. the oldest oc of mine that i still use in things is amai adachi, who i've had since 2018, but gummycore oldheads might remember apollo and iris from when i was in high school

8. Talk about three of your newest OCs.

8a. keiko uzumaki, ultimate unicyclist! he was really fun to design because i loooove gyaru fashion, especially ganguro gyaru. i would've given him a lei, but it was too hard to draw LMAO. keiko is insanely anti-authoritarian and individualistic to the point where i describe his ideology as "whatever the opposite of a hivemind" is. he's fun and peppy and talks like a valley girl and thinks conformity will lead to the death of the human race. kisses! xoxo

8b. malachi ferreras, ultimate parody artist! irritating and self-deprecating, malachi is a total shut-in who makes his living as a ghost writer for a youtuber that has a side career in music. once that youtuber got cancelled, malachi ditched his contract and stepped into the limelight as an artist writing only for himself. after enough time talking to him, you start to wonder if him coming into the public eye was a good thing after all... (i'm very excited to use him in a roleplay. i love writing shitty comedians)

28. Name an OC who’s changed a lot from their original design/personality.

jeremy (ultimate ventriloquist) was originally a fusion of two of my other ocs, amai (mortician) and takeshi (slapstick comedian). the talent came from all those whose line bits about going to a funeral and doing ventriloquism with the corpse.

i only drew him how he looked on the left a few times before realizing i could do a lot with a shitty teenager ventriloquist who works on a kids show. i liked the idea of him having four arms enough to give him some techy robot arms on the back in his updated design. fun fact, i forgot to write down a reason for why he had them in the application for the roleplay he's currently in, so when someone asked me about it in character, i had to make something up LMAO

Romeo heavily considers texting Hyde to tell him to tell Kamitani to fuck off and not staple things on his bedroom door when he could just hand them to his guards and get them filled out much faster, but he reconsiders. Kamitani is something of the Japanese branch's curse expert, as Hyde has told him, and some of his afflictions seem similar to Taiga's. He might be of more use entertained. Then again his memory is worse than Taiga's. Is it worth it to entertain him? . . .at the very least it may be beneficial to entertain what might be a whim of the Institute.

As for Leo he really doesn't appreciate having having things stapled to his door either, but he's waiting for a video to render so he might as well play along.

Leo: An "anomaly" is defined by the Anomalous Investigation Institute as "an entity or occurrence outside of the laws of nature, common knowledge, or common sense of most modern human cultures." A "ghoul" is defined by the Anomalous Investigation Institute as "an entity, usually born human, which has made a pact with a demon and lived, seemingly without forfeit of their soul, gaining physical capabilities beyond the abilities of their base form and a power called a 'stigma'." Because "ghouls" are only able to exist through interaction with an "anomaly" and possess powers considered "supernatural" by most modern cultures and knowledge, this makes them anomalous.

Romeo: As a ghoul it doesn't feel very different than being a human, aside from the enhanced strength and healing. Money and beauty are still at the core of a meaningful existence. I still have to work and follow most of the rules of human society. I would say I'm indifferent to being either one.

Romeo: see answer 6, however I will say that I enjoy being more physically capable and healing faster. I like my stigma, but it would be nice if I had one that had more applications in daily life.

Leo: I'm used to it now but it doesn't really change how I live all that much. My stigma is helpful, but being sensitive to noise is annoying

7a. If you were to become human, would you like living as such?

Romeo: see answer 6, however I don't think it would be beneficial to go back to being human.

Leo: That depends on if they'd let me leave Darkwick without graduating if I turned back. If I were to be a human in Darkwick I'd be stuck with the really boring missions. I'd want to go home

8. If your friend became an anomaly, would you like them to keep living as such?

Romeo: My ghoul friends are anomalies already. They can live however they want, as long as they don't try and [the word 'leave' is scribbled out] hurt me. The Institute will probably try and kill the honor student if they become an anomaly, so I wouldn't want her to become one, but if she became one and was no longer herself I would want it to keep living so it could be studied.

Leo: Sho-chan needs to stay a ghoul so he can protect me better

Both answers are written, first "Staying as he is" then "I want him to get better, even without me". Both are scribbled out. The handwriting gets a bit messier as it goes on, as if Romeo started writing faster, and the lines are bolder, as if he pressed his pen against the paper harder.

Romeo: It depends on what he wants. Even if he forgets me, I'll stay with him. It doesn't matter if we're close or if he remembers or if he wants me there or if he runs away or if he hates me. He belongs to me until he tries to kill me. The same is true even if he becomes something only I recognize as him. He is mine. I'm not going to let him leave me just because he can't remember.

Bail under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 | Criminal Lawyer for NDPS case in Delhi NCR | Criminal Lawyer for NDPS case in Gurugram

Bail refers to the temporary release of a person from legal custody on deposit of security and undertaking that he/she shall appear at the time and place designated and submit himself to the jurisdiction and judgement of the Court. It is originated from an old French word ‘bailer’ which means ‘to give’ or ‘to deliver’.

However, the basis of bail lies in the principle that there is a presumption of innocence of a person until he is found guilty. In most of the cases where bail is granted a sum of money or property has to be deposited to the Court as a guarantee that the accused will make an appearance back in Court whenever he/she is required.

As per Section 37 of the Act all the offences under the NDPS Act are cognizable and police can arrest without a warrant for these offences but according to the last entry in Part-II to the Schedule to the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 offences under sections 8A,26,27,32,46,47,58, and 59(1) and offences relating to small quantity are non-cognizable.

Under Section 37 of the NDPS Act, it is mentioned that when a person is accused of an offence punishable under Section 19, 24, 27A and for offences involving commercial quantity, the accused shall not be released on bail unless,

The Public Prosecutor has been allowed to oppose the application for such release

In case a Public Prosecutor opposes the application, the court must be satisfied that there are reasonable grounds for believing that the person is not guilty of the alleged offence and that he is not likely to commit any offence while on bail.

Display & Daily Usage

The 120Hz OLED screen is a major upgrade over the previous Pixel 7a. Scrolling through apps, watching videos, and playing games felt incredibly smooth. Colors are vibrant, and the adaptive refresh rate ensures that it remains power-efficient when a high refresh rate isn’t needed. In bright sunlight, the screen remains legible thanks to its improved brightness levels.

Performance & AI Features

Powered by Google Tensor G3, the Pixel 8a handles daily tasks effortlessly. Switching between apps is fluid, and even demanding applications run without noticeable lag. Google’s AI features shine here—live transcriptions, AI-enhanced photography, and spam call detection have been game-changers in my usage.

Camera Performance

The 64MP main camera produces sharp, detailed images with excellent dynamic range. Google’s computational photography remains one of the best, making nighttime shots impressive even in challenging lighting conditions. The ultrawide camera maintains good detail without excessive distortion. For selfies, the 13MP front camera does a solid job, especially with Google’s AI-assisted enhancements.

Battery Life & Charging

On moderate usage, the 4,492mAh battery easily lasted a full day. Streaming, gaming, and taking photos drained the battery faster, but it still held up well compared to other mid-range options. The 18W charging speed, however, feels slow in 2024 standards, taking over an hour for a full charge. Wireless charging at 7.5W is a nice addition, though not the fastest.
