Happy belated holidays!
I’m enjoying scrolling through your tumblr and reading your AO3 fics (catching up on Eagle rn and istg Aquila is the best character out of the whole cast…ironically.)
Though all these Desmond posts I’m reading have me itching to resurrect my sister OC from a couple years ago.
I had kinda figured that with such a prestigious bloodline, Bill the bastard (I am in line to punch him) would want an heir and a spare. Whether or not that’s a twin is up for debate.
Mine was supposed to be the older twin, the one that stayed at the Farm and helped Desmond escape, to let him be free. Now I’m thinking…what then?
An identical twin sister, same bloodline… they take turns in the Animus.
Originally I was thinking about her taking Ezio’s Apple and being sent back to AC:Syndicate time for a Jacob pairing, but then I finished reading Beloved Moon and now I want an Altair pairing.
While I’m aware that the Animus requires Genetic memories during Desmond’s time, does it require the person to be the same gender genetically too? It’s a moot point by Origins (and I think as early as AC4 actually), but still.
Anyways, love your writing and your blog!
Happy belated holidays and advanced Happy New Year too, nonny!
Why ironically? Aquila is best birb and best boi! XD
Ooohh, that sounds interesting. I mean, if they’re twins, it doesn’t have to be a case of heir and spare since they wouldn’t have known they would have twins immediately. An older sibling for Desmond would hammer the heir and spare metaphor though.
You could also add in the angst of the two of them being made to compete against each other for the ‘heir’ spot even though neither of them want the spot.
Okay, so let’s talk about the Animus and its genetic memories requirement.
Before Black Flag, the subject must have the genetic memories BUT they don’t need to be of the same gender.
The primary example for this one is actually Aveline’s descendant:
Subject 1 was male and Vidic talks about him in the Subject Zero recordings in Black Flag, one of which is this:
No, it's fine. The Subject is unconscious. He's traipsing through 18th century New Orleans right now. In the memories of a woman. (Noob Files, Subject Zero – audio file 3)
So yeah, as long as they have the genetic memories, it was possible to relive the memories of their ancestor, regardless of the gender.
It became a moot point at Black Flag because the genetic memories are placed in the Animus by some other mean (in Origins and beyond, it seems to be a vial).
Good luck with your fic and I hope you have fun writing it :)

Hello!! For the ask: 1, 3, 4, 5, 13 and 21 for Dottie c:
Hi, Steph!! <3 What a JOY to see you in my inbox!!
Allow me to answer your asks!! And brace yourself, because it's going to be a long one!
1-What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do? I’d say that Dorothea is virtually unable to sit still and do nothing. She taught herself to do so, but it’s painful and makes her become all fidgety, because she NEEDS to do something. Whenever she knows that she will be out and about for a long time and she will be unable to do anything, it’s not unusual for her to bring with her a small book to read or a small journal where she can just write down her impressions or take some notes that might come to be useful for her later on. So, I'd say that the maximum amount of time she can sit still without doing nothing is 10 minutes top.
3-How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?) Dorothea has various ways to put herself to bed at night, depending on how her day has gone and how her mental state is before getting into bed. If she had a tough day but she is not mentally exerted, she would simply slip under the comfort of her blankets and read one of her favourite books (she would probably go for Jane Austen, something that also makes her smile); if she feels mentally exhausted (something that happened more often than not, unfortunately), she would most likely play her violin, trying to make her mind focus on the melody that she needs to reproduce, allowing herself to get lost in the notes until her soul is at peace. If she feels sad or anxious, she would most likely ask Jacob to brush her hair and braid it for her and ask him to talk about his day, so that she could focus on him rather than her own vexations. Jacob would probably take her into his arms and hum a song to her, knowing fairly well how his proximity and his voice help Dorothea ground herself and keep the anxiety at bay. So, as I said, it truly depends on her mental status.
4-How easy is it to earn their trust? To answer both this question and the next, I need to differentiate between Dorothea before her father’s death and after her father’s death. So, before her father’s death, Dorothea was truly sheltered, having been surrounded only by her parents, Byron, who loved her as if she was his own daughter, and her cousins, and she had never truly experienced the outside world, if not through the filter her own father had imposed. So, in a way, because of this and her own good heart, she was incredibly naive and was brought to believe in the goodwill and intentions of people, and would easily give her trust, even to the people that she should not trust. After her father’s death, precisely DUE to the circumstances of her father’s death, a part of Dorothea died with him that day, and so did her ability to trust people. That’s the thing. A part of her, the one where her hope is still alive, desperately WANTS to believe that people are inherently good and do not always have a second purpose, but her wounded part, the biggest one after her father’s death, has indeed become quite cynical and is prone to believe that there is no genuineness in others, and they are all out to get something out of her for whatever purpose they need.
5-How easy is it to earn their mistrust?
It depends on the situation, and again, at what moment in life she is. Before her father’s death, it would take threatening even in a subtle way to hurt the people she loves to earn her mistrust, but even then, she would ask herself if she is maybe too harsh in judging their intention or if perhaps she is seeing something in what others want that’s not actually there. After her father’s death, the mistrust is almost immediate. Upon meeting someone for the first time, she WON’T trust them, no matter how kind, affable or gentle they are and will be constantly monitoring the way they behave while they are with her, in order to find even a hint that they might be enemies and might have ill intentions toward her or the few people alive she still has around her.
13-What color do they think they look best in? Do they actually look best in that color? Red, white, and gold! Without a shade of doubt, Dorothea thinks that those three colours truly complement her the most, and that’s the reason why she always commissions her garments to be made with this palette specifically, although the shades of red do depend on the occasion and what it calls for. Alternatively, she believes that pastel colours also do suit her and her own natural colouring, and her favourite to wear are pale lavender, peach, and pale pink.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS ASK, STEPH! <3 I TRULY HAD FUN ANSWERING!

20 Styles Challenge-Day 2 Ojamajo!Dorothea
(Click on the drawing for a higher resolution)
🎶Ma che magie Doremì
fai nel pentagramma,

fra un do dièsis e un mi
MAGIA MAGIA!!🎶
OJAMAJO DOREMI! New day, new style, same old sweet Dottie!
This time around, I actually let my daughter choose among the various styles, and she was dead set on Ojamajo Doremi, and her wishes are my commands!💗
So, I spent the morning drawing with her and listening to the Italian Opening, and gods, I have to admit that I teared up a little.
When I was a teen, I used to watch this anime with my baby sister who, at the time, was around the same age as my daughter is now and I remember we used to have so much fun together, singing the songs and drawing the characters together....and I felt such a deep sense of melancholy because, for a moment, I felt the time had stopped moving, and I was back to those year, but at the same time, such a great happiness that I was now able to do this with my daughter!😁😁
Anyway, here you have Dottie as one of the little witches from Ojamajo Doremi! And the little fairy in her hands is DoDo (I know that DoDo was the name of Doremi's fairy, but for the sake of this artwork, the fairy's name is DoDo 😂)!
Also, I have decided to go with the Royal Patraine Outfit because, among the many that they have, this one is my absolute favourite!
Well, I hope you'll like this! I had fun!

I HAVE NO WORDS TO EXPRESS HOW PROUD I AM.
We have been developing Magnolia and Dorothea since March, and after all these months, seeing you finally taking this leap of faith, presenting Magnolia to the world fills me with such an indescribable joy.
I am so so so happy to see her, and I cannot wait to read more about her shenanigans with Jacob!!! They truly are one of my favourite pairing IN THE WHOLE WORLD.
So, LISTEN UP EVERYONE, MAMA NEMO IS SPEAKING:
SHOWER MISS MAGNOLIA BENSON (AND THEREFORE MY DEAR @thatcrazycrowgirl ) WITH ALL THE LOVE!!

First off, I have to give a HUGE thank you to @nemo-my-name-forevermore for encouraging me to finally introduce my Syndicate OC to the public. Not to mention, if it wasn’t for her, my OC would barely exist beyond my occasional musings. I can’t thank you enough for developing her with me and giving me the courage to share her, my dear Nemo! <3<3<3
That being said, here she is! Magnolia Benson, aspiring penny dreadful writer and assistant amateur crime solver to her mentor, Henry Raymond, (and who also may or may not have the job of trying to keep Jacob from accidentally destroying any evidence or pummeling any of the suspects for information, when he’s tagging along on a case).
If she’s peaked your interest in any way, feel free to check out these few works featuring her:
A Dreadful Nuisance (The first fic I ever finished. Just something light and fun. Written as a JacobxReader fic, but this is honestly where the beginnings of Nolie’s character came from.)
Knowing (A short ficlet showing a more ‘serious’ side of their developing relationship.)
#FINALLY#feel so proud#so happy#the gods know how much i love Magnolia and how important she is to my Dottie#and finally everyone can enjoy her and praise her and give her the recognition she deservers#Magnolia Benson#AC OC: Magnolia#ac syndicate#ac:syndicate oc#ac: syndicate#jacob x oc#mr jacob frye

hap birth to me and the Grim Twins, Hailgrim and Hildegrim!! born on Telona 19th, 32 BBY!
so. i did the best i could w/ what i was given on these dollmakers. esp. since making any sort of alien race on the guy one is literally impossible (so imagine Hailgrim has horns too). and their lightsabers should be bronze, but i had to give them that sorta gold-ish color since bronze wasn’t an option either.
but ye! a pair of Zabrak twins that were literally spawned from the idea of their names. @adhdgarmadon and i were talking one day, they were looking up names for an oc, and came across these two names. my brain was then immediately like “lmao, just imagine if someone actually had that name. ‘oh, what’s your name?’ ‘HAILGRIM.’” b/c apparently that was the funniest damn thing to me at the time, lol. other than that tho, i don’t have too much on them as seems to be the case more often than not, lately rip, but i do know this much: they’re both trans; they just sorta looked at each other one day when they were kids and agreed “yeah, we need to switch.” they’re both buff af and force-sensitive (thus the bronze sabers), but they work as sort of hired guns, doing any kind of mercenary work that pays well. and they eventually meet up w/ and decide to work alongside Zosella, since having a medic on hand is never a bad thing.
and i guess now that i’m thinking about it, i’ve been on a bit of an AC:Syndicate kick lately, so i can almost see a little bit of a parallel between these two and the Frye twins. which i swear was unintentional, rip
~one year later...
it’s now less of a “they looked at each other and knew they needed to swap” and more “they each decided it on their own, and of course through Force twins bullshit, the decision was made simultaneously despite the distance between them.” b/c now that i’m a bit more versed w/ Dathomirian culture, Hailgrim was raised by his mother Ixu to become a Nightsister while Hildegrim was raised by her father Pious. the main difference was that Pious definitely noticed early on that she didn’t fit in w/ the rest of them, at least not in that obvious sense. she was still rowdy and willing to put up a fight, but it didn’t take too many hints before he realized she wasn’t a Nightbrother. meanwhile Hailgrim unfortunately didn’t quite get the same treatment, so the Great Nightsister Massacre of Season 4 was a welcome reprieve. and then he was finally able to reunite w/ the rest of his family for a short time, before the twins inevitably decided to go out into the galaxy to make it on their own (once they finished their respective transitions).
they also got to spend a short time being older siblings to Arvokas and Taivas when their father became a temporary adoptive father to the both of them. the twins had been separated pretty early on, so only Hildegrim was around when Arvo was born. they spent about five years together as “siblings” before Hailgrim made his return, then another two years after was when Taivas showed up. then it wasn’t too much longer after that before this makeshift family started splitting apart. and while i actually haven’t thought about it before now, Hildegrim was at least cool w/ being a big sister. wasn’t really her forte, but she tried, lol. it was Hailgrim who had the hardest time adjusting to the idea, but w/ his father’s help, he eventually sort of warmed up to it.
the last big update is that once Zosella reunites w/ her family, and finds out that her own twin siblings Ohsini & Peihsa are Force sensitive too, she turns to the Grim Twins to help train them, even just a little. so to have a little bit of juxtaposition, Hailgrim decides to try and tame the wild child in Ohsini while Hildegrim tries to teach Peihsa to just let loose every so often.
~continuing updates...
Taivas’ story keeps changing, so need that to be reflected here as well, even if it’s pretty minor in regards to the Grim Twins’ involvement. b/c Taivas was born to a random Nightbrother father who was killed for his efforts, he got adopted by Pious the same way Arvokas was, so they were both a part of the family pretty much right from the start. so in terms of a timeline update, no idea where i got those original numbers from; must’ve changed birthdates between now and then w/o realizing, but anyway, Hildegrim is raised as an only child for about seven years when Arvo is born, then another five years after that, Taivas comes along. and later that same year is the massacre, so that’s when Hailgrim finally joins the party.
#except hailgrim is way more serious than jacob lol#but yeah i first noticed it when i was making hildegrim; i sorta stopped and looked at her and thought '...omg you kinda look evie'#other than that tho i swear they're not just knock off frye twins djfhjs#they're just an excuse for a couple of arguably ridiculous names lmao#speaking of which i did debate making 'grim' their surname and just have their names be hail and hilde but i just wasn't feeling it#sw oc tag#star wars#random bullshit#hailgrim#hildegrim#grim twins#4.19.32 BBY

||“In the Heat of the Moment”|| Characters Masterlist -The Templars (pt.1)||
THE TEMPLARS OF THE BRITISH RITE -1868
Name: Dorothea Marianne Starrick
Date and Place of Birth: 8th May 1851, London.
Faceclaim: Natalie Dormer
Height: 1.52m (5′0′’)
MBTI: INTJ-T
Ensemble: Melancholic
Main Colour: Burgundy Red and Amaranth
Theme Song: “Escapist” by Nightwish
Bio: Dorothea Marianne Starrick was the only living daughter of Grand Master Crawford Starrick and Countess Annette Ingrid Starrick (née Bielke).
She was born in 1850, a few years after her father had become Grand Master of the British Rite, and just like her mother before her, she grew up surrounded by Templars and was taught the tenets of the Order ever since she had been able to understand what was happening around her. Devoted to her father and her mother, who were, in turn, nurturing parents to their only child, Dorothea fully embraced the Order and its precepts and wanted nothing more than to make her father proud, and bring her family honour, going the extra mile to ensure that all of her father’s expectations for her were met.
Due to both her station and her family’s history, Dorothea had the tendency to carry herself with grace and composure, always appearing almost unfazed by the events around her, when, in truth, she was always careful to never truly give away her thoughts or feelings, to the point of striking as haughtier and posher than she actually was.
Strong-willed, disciplined, calculating and meticulous, Dorothea was truly her father’s daughter, having picked up so many of his mannerisms that whoever had met Crawford Starrick would immediately know that she was his child. However, differently from him, she had a gentle heart, and a kinder disposition toward those less fortunate than herself, partially merit of her mother’s own good heart and influence throughout the years, and as a child, she was a small ray of sun that only wanted those around her to be as happy as she was.
Due to how sheltered she had been since her tender years, she rarely had the chance to enjoy the company of other children, her cousins Phillip and Charles, Alfred Starrick’s own sons, being the occasional exception whenever they came to visit her in Dover, where the Starrick’s ancestral home was located, and therefore, she spent most of her life studying under the best tutors and academic money could buy, becoming, with effort and hard work, an extremely well-read young woman. Her greatest passions were literature, playing and composing music for her violin and, influenced by her mentor’s teaching, stargazing and journaling. She was also a singer of considerable talent, undergoing several years of studies under Opera singers that influenced her style.
Her father doted on her, never denying her anything, but despite his pride in knowing that she was eager to follow in his footsteps, he wished not for her to bear witness of the horrors that the fight with the Brotherhood brought and, more importantly, what his modus operandi actually was, knowing that it would cost him the infinite love and respect she had for him.
For this reason, he decided to protect her from the most brutal aspects of the Assassins-Templars ongoing war, and assigned Byron Harrison to be her bulwark against that reality.
Due to this and due to her young age, Dorothea was somewhat naive and had a limited and biased vision of her father and the events in London, something that she would come to face and question for the first time in her life after her encounter with the Assassin Jacob Frye.
Name: Byron William Harrison;
Date and Place of Birth: 16th May 1822, Bristol;
Faceclaim: Toby Stephens
Height: 1.87m (6′2′’)
MBTI: INTJ-T
Ensemble: Melancholic
Main Colour: Midnight Blue
Theme Song: "World So Cold” by 12 Stones
Bio: Byron was born in Bristol, into a wealthy family. His father was a Naval Commander in the Royal Navy and his mother was the heiress to a minor aristocratic family. The vicinity of the city to the sea and the love and respect that he bore to his father had played a huge part in his consequent love for seafaring. As a child, Byron was a sweet and introverted lad, who would spend his days playing by himself on the beach or taking his books with him and sitting on the rocks by himself, sketching the sea, the port, and the ships. He was often found competing with his younger brother Ambrose, as the brothers were extremely close to one another.
Following this natural inclination and the desire to make his father proud and bring on the legacy of the Harrison Family, Byron joined the Navy in 1840, when he was 18 years old.
After serving in the Navy for years and steadily rising to the rank of Lieutenant, he volunteered to take part, in 1850, in what will be known as the McClure Arctic expedition, set to determine the fate of the Franklin’s Lost Expedition (happened in 1845-1846).
During the four years journey that would take to transit the Northwest Passage on the HSM Investigator, Byron had the chance to prove what would subsequently become known as his legendary prowess both at the helm of the ship, his brutal strength, and resilience, and his skills as leader. During the Third Winter spent in the Arctic, while leading a hunting party, Byron and his men were attacked by a bear, and in a tentative effort to defend a younger member of the crew, Byron suffered an injury that left him bedridden for the next couple of months and that he survived thanks to a miracle and the skilled hands of the ship surgeon.
The injury left him with a triple scar (where the bear maimed him) on the side of his torso, but the ferocity with which he had fought against the animal, along with his cold blood during the whole journey, had earned him the moniker of “Leviathan”, a name that will accompany him for the rest of his life.
Returning successful from the expedition, he later joined the Templars in 1855, serving under Grand Master Crawford Starrick. After being assigned a mission of great importance for the Order, he would suffer a great tragedy, something that would impact him so greatly to the point becoming a shadow of his previous self. In 1858 he was assigned to be the Mentor to Dorothea, the Grand Master’s only child.
Despite his sufference and grieving, his proximity to the Heir of the Starrick Family and their similar nature and personalities would bring him to see the young girl as his own daughter. Assigned to both protect Dorothea and oversee to her training and education in the Templars’ precepts, Byron would also be the one responsible in partially influencing Dorothea’s vision of the world. He’d teach her to always critically think and follow her instinct, looking for the forest instead of focusing on the trees. He would also pass along to her his love for seafaring and stargazing.
Throughout the years, Byron would prove his worth over and over again, swiftly raising ranks with hard work, discipline and his undying loyalty to the Starrick Family. By 1868, he raised to be Crawford Starrick’s Second-In-Command and one of his most valuable advisors.
Name: Ambrose Theodore Harrison
Date and Place of Birth: 22 September 1828, Bristol;
Faceclaim: Stephen Campbell Moore
Height: 1.78m (5′10′’)
MBTI: ENTJ-A
Ensemble: Choleric
Main Colour: Dark Green
Theme Song: “Night of the Hunter” by 30StM
Bio: Ambrose was Byron’s youngest brother and best friend. Born in Bristol, into a wealthy family, he spent the majority of his childhood following his oldest brother around, and engaging in fights with boys older than him, unafraid of the consequences this would bring.
Unlike his brother, who was calm and collected, Ambrose was the opposite. He was energetic, brash and somewhat impulsive, but denoted also a strong charisma ad ambitious spirit that made him extremely resorceful and never afraid to speak his mind; this particular aspect of him was something that always grated on Byron’s nerve, since their job as Templars required discretion and secrecy. A machiavellian man in his own right, her truly believed that “The End justified the means” and would not be afraid to go to extreme lengths to do exactly what he needed to to achieve his goals, be those goals personal or Templars related. For this reason, he was considered one of the most brutal enforcers in Starrick’s regime.
He and Byron adored each other, and had been best friends ever since they were children. They also did enjoy the constant sibling rivalry they had going on between them, because it pushed them both to become better, and in the small village where they grew up, the Harrisons’ brothers were always known to be up for challenging one another in whatever activity they could think about: be it swimming, shooting, climbing around, running - anything.
However Ambrose, due to his fiery temper, was prone to episodes of jealousy toward his older brother’s achievement and the constant praise he got from their parents, and it wasn’t unusual to see him becoming sulled and soured and resentful.
However, Byron always encouraged him to keep on pursuing his path, regardless of what anyone else would say, and Ambrose was appreciative of his brother for his affection and constant support, even when their parents did not approve of Ambrose’s choices.
Driven by this strong competitive streak and the desire to show his family that he as well could bring honour to the family, just like Byron, he enrolled in the British Army in and was sent to fight in Crimea under Brudenell as part of the 5th Light Dragoons. He took part in the ‘Charge of the Light Brigade’ and despite the catastrophic results of the attack, he managed to survive and distinguish himself for his brutal strength, his prowess with the sword and his indomitable courage.
Once returned to England, Brudenell introduced him to Starrick and his Templars, and within a short time, he was inducted and started to climb the ladder that would bring him to become, along with his older brother, one of the most trusted enforcers of the Grand Master of the British Rite.

Okay, for your OC questionnaire, I have to ask #1 & #12 for Dottie and #3 and #9 for Colette! -Crowie (a.k.a. TCCG)
HI THERE, CROWIE!! (gonna take me a little while not to call you "girl" anymore, but I absolutely adore your new nickname! so cute!!)
SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU HERE IN MY INBOX!!! I am so happy to have received a question for my Colette too! so, without further ado, LEMME ANSWER YOUR ASK!
1-What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do? Already answered in this post here! :)
12- How do they deal with an itch found in a place they can’t quite reach?
WELL. Now, if we are talking about a literal itch that they cannot reach, it truly depends on WHERE and WHEN and WHO is around, if you get my meaning! But I think that, in general, she would just endure the itch, and hope that it would go away fairly quickly on its own, trying to maintain her composure. If it’s something she cannot truly endure and she is during a social event, she would excuse herself, go to a quiet spot and ask her mother or whoever is chaperoning her if they could help her reach the spot she cannot reach.
3-How do they put themselves to bed at night (reading, singing, thinking?)
Colette loves to sing, at any time of the day, even before going to sleep. Although not classically trained as my other singer, Dorothea, she had a beautiful low, smoky timbre and a natural disposition for picking up tunes and remembering melodies, so, it was not unusual to see her sitting at her small toiletry table, taking care of her skin and brushing those long curls that made Arno go gaga, and sing the same soft lullabies either Antoine or most likely Mathias used to sing to her when they put her to sleep. It’s a comforting ritual for her, especially when Arno is not around and is busy with missions for the Brotherhood. When Arno is at the Cafe Theatre, then it’s completely different. They would probably enjoy a relaxing bath together and chitchat with one another about the long day they had behind them, getting so lost in the chatters that the water would probably run cold. If either of them had a particularly rough day, the other would gently help the other, allowing them to relax and making their presence known by listening intently and offering the other a safe place to let out all they needed to let out. Often, they would lie in bed together, with Colette brushing his hair and giving him small kisses until he fall asleep. When she sees that he is soundly snoring (dear gods, Arno, the snoring), then she is able to peacefully lie down and fall asleep herself.
9-Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word?
Colette swears. More than she would like to admit, although, when she does, it’s most likely because she is angered by something or anxious to the point that she cannot control. So, in those situations, she is more likely to drop the equivalent of a French F-Bomb. This all goes down the drain when someone messes with Arno. She just goes full-on raging fire, waving her notorious rolling pin, uttering all the profanities she knows (ahh, all the times Claude had to hold her, because otherwise she would have likely reduced Arno’s offender in a pulp lol). As for remembering her first swear word, she doesn’t, but Antoine and Mathias do, because they were the one responsible (indirectly, tho?) for her to learn it. You see, Colette was a wee bab of merely 3 years of age, joyous and happy, but a little delayed in her speech, much to her elder siblings worries. So, one day, while Antoine and Mathias were arguing in a rather heated way (Mathias is a lamb most of the time, but he does have a temper underneath all that sweetness), Colette would just run into their room, worried as children always are when they hear the people they love argue, and screamed, a “PUTAIN” so loud, Mathias swears he can still hear it reverberates across the rooms. Mathias and Antoine were taken off guards, but started laughing so much afterwards (and then they had to stop little Colette from uttering that word out just because she thought it was funny. Needless to say, they were kinda bummed out when they realized that she wasn't planning on stopping dropping that word at the most inconvenient of times 😂)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THESE QUESTIONS.
I HAD TRULY SO MUCH FUN! <3
