"Floyd... turned Azul... into a marketable plushie." She finishes, holding him out for Shuu to see:

"I know this must seem crazy, but! Professor Crewel said that... true love's kiss... might break the spell." Lydia finishes awkwardly, feeling bad for putting Shuu in this position. She knew that while they weren't a couple, there was something between them, hidden feelings that were more than platonic.

She could only hope that Azul would forgive her for this, having offered to take him to Shuu in Floyd's place.

oh my gosh! thank you!! i really love character interactions and relationship dynamics, so i wanted to depict two girls who seemed like opposites - one cool and laid-back, the other soft and sweet. after a while they started to take on a life of their own, and i thought it'd be wonderful if their story could evoke the feeling of a shoujo romance!

i had a lot of things on my mind when i wrote the script... friendship, intimacy, communication... communication can be so hard! sometimes it's harder with someone you're close to because their opinion is so important to you. and what happens when you've got a character who's non-confrontational and has low self-esteem + someone who prefers actions over words, and would rather burn bridges than admit to feeling vulnerable? how would they get past that? i wanted to write their flaws as believable, and how their life experiences have shaped the way they think about themselves / the way they respond to personal conflict... but also how they learn from each other and grow ❤️ tysm for the question!!

thank you both so much!!!! <3 a sequel is actually one of the ideas i pitched for my second book! my editor cautioned against it in case IYHM didn't perform well, so i ended up going in a different direction - but my fingers are crossed for future opportunities 😤 realistically, it will probably depend on sales... but for the record, i'd want to do one regardless of the numbers...

i have one more book coming out, which i'm working on right now! the timeline is a bit up in the air atm but i'll try to keep everyone posted. making a book is so slow but i'm so grateful to you all for waiting 🥺💛

also, just as an aside... i want to make webcomics so bad. i think after my next book, i might take a break from traditional publishing to do that. sometimes i can't believe i'm drawing hundreds of pages i can't post... i'm like, how are people supposed to read this if i can't show them? how will they know?! ahh it kills me... but yes... someday!!!

and, most importantly, I'm here to give you your mutual obsession love: Buggy.

Let me preface this with: I fucking love Buggy (I would die protecting him) and I have been WAITING for the perfect match up for him, and darlin' you're it.

Buggy would fall into your orbit immediately. The moment you first throw out your magnetic flirting, the man is toast– he's buttered up with obsession and you will be his absolute everything. He will look at you like you hung the fucking moon in the sky and that you make the birds sing and that you make his heart keep beating in his chest.

It's wonderful that you're a hype man, because believe it or not, that's really what Buggy needs. He is constantly failing upwards and it scares him. He doesn't think he deserves any notoriety–he doesn't think he deserves love at all. You would be the light he looks to for encouragement. If he can have you, maybe he does deserve to have it all, right?

He is also going to need your rational outlook because while you have a little delulu, he has a lotta delulu. He, too, is a self-sabotaging mess, but I am a firm believer that sometimes two messes can come together and somehow keep each other sane and whole.

Physical touch is also Buggy's love language. He will always want to be holding hands, fiddling with your fingers, and for the love of all things holy PLEASE play with his hair. He would let you braid it, string it into pig tails to fit in his hat, or even just let you rake your fingers through it at night in bed. He loves that shit. Put flowers in it, too.

Buggy likes to be the center of attention, but even more so he would love to watch you be the center of attention. He would love to watch you do karaoke, dance, and have a wonderful time. And, even better, as a little attention whore himself, he would love to the subject of your photography. He will literally get into any pose you ask him, (especially if he's naked). Oh 1000000%. The man is literally an oversized pup, you can’t even walk to the bathroom without him grunting and nosing your neck. He’s clingy enough with you during the day in your own home bc his smell is finally mingling with yours, (which makes his cock go hee hee).

He would just sit with you, licking every inch of you and chuffing when you move. He likes to tease his fangs over your sensitive points, as you pretend to let him be in charge. Only at your say so does the puppy bite you, making the sharp teeth dig fairly deep into your neck.

Before you had the litter of puppies, he was anal about scenting and marking you. Whether that was nibbling you absentmindedly, licking you, or rubbing your body off of his, he wouldn’t let you leave his sight without his smell dripping off you.

After the puppies?? Baby, he’s SUPER ANAL. He keeps his babies as close to you both as possible, constantly chuffing at their fat little tummies and resting them against him. You can always find him with a small puppy in his arms, the chubby little pup burying their heads into the fat of his pec.

Two-Face might tease you about it, but when you're close to him you'll find him idly messing with the ruffles and ribbons of your outfits, fidgeting with the hem of your dress absentmindedly much like when he fidgets with his coin. Harvey loves buying you plushies and Two-Face does his duty of punching/squishing them.

Roman Sionis He loves it and loves buying you new dresses, accessories, and shoes. It's such a dark style, but still soft and sweet and it's the ✨dichotomy of it all✨ that someone soft and sweet can love someone like him who is anything but. The plushies he thinks are cute, but he moans and groans when he spends money on them. In the end, he can't resist you, he's completely wrapped around your finger.

i've been so focused on IYHM for the past couple months... now that the pub date is so close, i'm full of giddy anticipation and terrible dread. so thank you everyone for the love and well wishes! it's really getting me through it.

also, i wasn't sure how to announce this so i wanted to mention it while i'm here: Waterstones now has a special sprayed edge edition of IYHM! i got my copy a little while back and it's really gorgeous. if you like paperbacks i think the color is a lovely touch!

and as another reminder, i'll be having an in-person launch event next tuesday with Brick & Mortar Books in Redmond, WA! truthfully i'm torn between my desire to interact with people and my embarrassment at being seen in public, so please feel free to spare yourselves lmao 😭 i wasn't sure i'd do an event at all but i decided to try at least once before deciding if it's for me. so we'll see how it goes!
