12 - The Hanged Man (Sage)

The Hanged Man, Sage’s existence is one of shifting perspectives. Initially, she lacks any hope in defeating THE END, instead suspending Eggman in Cyberspace to “protect” him while chalking Sonic and his friends up for death. But further interactions allow Sage to develop more complex feelings and give favor to action over statistics.

When The Hanged Man is reversed, Sage’s toxic traits appear. Despite learning how to love and care for others, she does little to stop her creator’s tendency toward evil, primarily concerned with restoring order so HE can throw it into chaos, instead. Her unemotive nature also causes delays in defeating THE END due to her resistance to divulging critical information to those who can help.

The Hanged Man is receptive to new angles of approach, but her emotional detachment still leaves room to improve.

13 - Death (Sonic the Hedgehog)

Death is a form of change, and Sonic the Hedgehog lives for all kinds of evolution. Although his adventures never last forever, he never forgets any foe and friend he meets, with many becoming fixtures in his life. And as seen during the Black Knight incident, Sonic’s not opposed to transforming into the “bad guy” so long as the wind—and all within it—remain free.

Sonic is not without his dependencies, even if he believes he doesn't have any. When Death is reversed, he resists having his mind or opinions changed by anyone, even if he actively makes situations like the Zeti incident worse. He frequently relies on his usual tricks to win battles: while mainstay transformations like Super Sonic are effective, he usually doesn't have immediate backup plans if they don't work.

Death offers new beginnings, but fear of the unknown may win out.

14 - Temperance (E-102 Gamma)

As Temperance, E-102 Gamma’s “purpose” in life is at the forefront. Intended by Eggman to be a balanced and effective killing machine, he approaches every situation with a measured calmness, which allows him to have a change of heart once meeting Amy. When it becomes clear that his existence is at the expense of Birdie’s sibling, he undergoes self-termination to restore peace to their family.

Once Temperance is reversed, Gamma’s robotic nature hinders his perspective. Due to the naivety that comes from new life, he cannot conceive of ramifications beyond the present. Once changing his objective to “free” his brothers from Eggman’s control, he never considers alternative options to destroying them completely: in his haste, he forgets the aid that Amy and her friends could offer in reaching full autonomy.

Temperance is honor-bound and craves harmony, but is prone to reckless action over thought.

15 - The Devil (Metal Sonic)

While Sonic has many foils, none are as enduring as his robotic doppelganger, Metal Sonic. The Devil, he twists the basic facts of his namesake into corrupted versions: Sonic’s competitiveness turns into an obsession to win, his kindness towards the less fortunate into subjugation, etc. Metal Sonic, like Eggman, is also not above cheating to win, often receiving upgrades to somehow edge Sonic out at every turn.

Proving his superiority is Metal Sonic’s greatest sin, seen when The Devil is reversed. As a result, he’s emotionally detached from everything BUT besting Sonic—even his loyalty to Eggman comes into question in certain situations. This betrayal is not always without merit: Metal Sonic has been known to be much more of a threat once independent from his creator, like during the Neo Metal Sonic incident.

The Devil amplifies his darkest aspects to free himself from outside influence.

Sage walks up to Metal Sonic's with a blue gift box. Sage: I- have something for you, Metal. Metal looks at the gift box. Sage holds it in front of the robot. Metal looks at it, at Sage, then at the gift box again. He takes it. As Orbot and Cubot appear with two more presents. Orbot: For you, Metal. Cubot: Yeah, we hope you like them! Metal looks around his companions. Sage puts a party hat on Metal's head, as he remains emotionless. Eggman: What's all this, now? Sage: I've just realized that it's Metal's birthday, so we wanted to give him a good day to celebrate you built him. Eggman: Wow, it's been that long, huh? Well then. I hope you don't mind If I join. Sage: Not at all. E-123 Omega, and E-102 Gamma walks by, to see everyone celebrating Metal Sonic's Birthday. Sage gives them party hats, too. Eggman: Despite failing to defeat Sonic many times, I'm still proud of you for your determination to stop that blue rat and his annoying friends.

Metal looks at his creator. Eggman: You're still my creation, and I'm proud of you, no matter what. Sage hugs him. Sage: I love you, Metal. Metal looks at the Artificial girl. Still emotionless, but feels appreciated, and loved. Cubot, we love you too, pal. Orbot: And nothing will change that. E-123 Omega: You know, this proves that love is a very powerful feeling. E-102 Gamma: Indubitably. It was the reason I turned on my master at one point. Then he started to appreciate me, after he rebuilt me. E-123 Omega: Didn't you self-destruct at one point? E-102 Gamma: I don't remember, but I do remember fighting the rest of my brothers. But I'll tell you more about it later, let's pay tribute to our companion who was built by our master 30 years ago. Sage: We'll always love you… Brother. Meta; begins to hug Sage, Orbot and Cubot joined in, and they all embraced.

This is the second of 3 renders celebrating 30 years of Amy, Metal Sonic, and Sonic CD. Only one more will be uploaded tonight. But here's to 30 years of Metal Sonic!

From there 70 of each type were chosen and put in for the prompt voting form. The top 31 of each type made it onto the list, one of each for each day.
