Me: Once I’m done grading these final exams, I’ll finish the next chapter of Continuing Travels of Cophine. 

Me: And send my novel out to more agents. 

Me: And get a real start on that historical fiction / alternative timeline story.

My brain: You know what you should also do? A series of vignettes from your 100-years-post-apocalypse story. It’s totally cool if you don’t have a plot for it.

My brain: Scratch that, even better idea! Write a spin-off with that queer Iranian translator you wrote about!

“I Am Sorry to Report” felt funny, clever when it was written. Now it feels entirely too dark, but still appropriate for the beginning of final grading season.

Days 7 & 8 of #PhotoWalk17 #Challenge I spent this weekend on house-rest. Not because I was sick but because I have gotten behind on grading and needed to get it in. So, with that said, it was me, my computer and grading, #Pomodoro, and #walking sprints for the weekend. Day 7, I got in just under 2 miles, 1.92 miles to be exact. Day 8, I got in 2.73 miles. Tomorrow morning, I'm hitting up a park, so I'll have better pictures! #SSPhotowalk #StepsAndSnaps #fitness #health #challengeyourself #amgrading

American Graduate Day returns for its sixth year airing on PBS stations Saturday, October 14, 2017, from 2pm-6pm ET and live on Facebook.

Hosted by Soledad O'Brien, this live national, multi-platform broadcast event focuses on the individuals and organizations working in communities across the country to keep students on the path to graduation and career success.

In partnership with families and educators, the National Museum of African American History and Culture is in a unique position to support the youngest members of our society. On Tuesday, September 12, members of the Lanier High School PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Lab, led by newly named Texas Teacher of the Year Tara Bourdeaux, met Andy Roddick to film his take on mentoring and his involvement with Austin youth through the Andy Roddick Foundation. The result of the interview will become a 90 second spot to promote the October 14 American Graduate Day broadcast and to support mentoring as a vital community activity. Andy now gets to call himself an American Graduate Champion alongside his many other victories!
