What a beautiful conversation about the collaboration of all the people working behind the scenes at Dimension 20! Far and away one of my favorite parts of all of Dropout’s content is celebrating the creativity and joy of the crew who aren’t on camera. There is nothing I love more than when you can hear crew laughing in the background when someone goes really hare-brained, it just makes me feel more in community with this content that brings me so much joy.

The gradual degradation of Brennan's costume in Never Stop Blowing Up is a common environmental story telling trope in 80s action movies where the main character get progressively more injured but doesn't let it slow him down as he keeps fighting.

In a horror movie, these injuries would be slowing the character down, putting them in more peril, showing weakness and anguish.

In Action, it (at least) borders on comical how little injuries can matter - as Brennan showed in the hospital scene. Action is defiance of and triumph over death, it's about feeling like you're insanely tough, a badass who can defeat and overcome anyone and anything (physically).

The art and make up team here are telling a story. This is a character who exists parallel to our main story who is going through his own action journey, patching himself up when he can as he goes but bleeding through those bandages later as he rips a wound open that probably needed stitches but he doesn't have TIME to get a much needed blood transfusion, goddamnit, he's gotta get to the thing with the thing before the bad thing happens.

There's so many little interesting details unraveling in the story the make up is telling, like having one side of the body clearly have gotten exposed to an explosion. Meanwhile the cut on his left arm goes from open, to cleanly bandaged, to bleeding through the bandage. The latest episode brings us to the point in the movie where he finally just throws off the torn and bloodied dress shirt.

Which is part of action stories too, where the main character moves further and further from someone who was trying to be a Business Adult in the Real World before shit hits the fan and the battle can't be fought by a civilized man in a suit and tie, it's gonna get fuckin messy.

After another successful Year of the OTP Oneshot published, here's this Valentines Meiker before Valentines Day ends for three couples, one each from my The UnTitledverse, The Silver Chronicles and Life, Despair & Monsters series. ALYSSON "ALICE" DARLING X RICK THOMPSON (THE OMNISCIENT RULE SAGA [THE UNTITLEDVERSE])

Ah yes, the "beta couple" as TV Tropes would call them, only secondary to Mario and Charlie's (and eventually Elizabeth's) romantic relationship in addition to Joaquin and Maisie's close platonic friendship in The Omniscient Rule saga, Alice and Rick are two gremlin bisexuals pretending to act like the normal ones around everyone else (who are all a bit unhinged). Alice is the eldest daughter of a family that owns a corrupt pharmaceutical company and now she is the trusted ground control of the Omniscient Rule, and Rick is a guy from the countryside, a bit of a jokester whose really into musicals, and a field agent for the Omniscient Rule.

THE QUOKKA AND THE BAPTIST (FAR CRY 5 [THE SILVER CHRONICLES])

One of, like, four of the core "Beta Couples", Nadi "Quokka" Sinclair was a former Task Force 141 member before the events of Call To Arms had her depart from the group after losing faith in the military, leading her to join Eden's Gate in Montana and eventually climbing the ranks to become John "the Baptist" Seed's bodyguard/number two in running Holland Valley. Nadi fell first, but John's gonna fall harder.

SIR ENIGMA MALVOLIO & DENISE REDWOOD (LIFE, DESPAIR & MONSTERS)

Not a couple, just failgirl bodyguard and conniving inter-dimensional scientist disguised as a human being who should have been sent to HR for multiple violations in the Science Ethics committee... if a HR existed in the Ruins of the Midnight Rise that is. Probably why Malvolio didn't install one; so he could continue to mutilate and experiment on people undisturbed. Also Denise despises Valentines Day because of the love she's not getting and Malvolio's not a human so emotional concepts such as love just doesn't compute with him. The background is meant to be some kind of blood red sky or something meant to convey that they've probably just doomed a reality and are just commemorating the moment.

anyway here's the BLeeM GM costumes for episodes 1-6 of Never Stop Blowing Up, kudos to the make-up/costume team.

We got the 80s buttoned up big shouldered boss shirt & gold striped tie with a chunky gold watch

The greaser leather jacket, driving gloves, and aviator sunglasses (from here on out, removed in intro)

the double gun holsters over open dress shirt and A-frame undershirt with a butterfly bandaged cut over the eye, (which will remain the base look but gradually more fucked up/bandaged)

next, basically same but dirtier (and a lighter shirt instead of the darker stripes of the first one)

then, ripped sleeve over bloody cut and also some brass knuckles

last, shirt is now burnt up and more ripped (also looks thicker, more like a trenchy jacket, but maybe that's just me) cut on arm is bandaged. There's some make up "dirt" or soot/ash? Bloody make up along patch of hairline. 5 o clock shadow. Yelling into walkie. (eta he also is wearing one of the gloves in this ep, added a pic to show that below)
