was playing final remix with a friend (their first time playing, and we're not gonna count what number replay im on) and they play it on tv with joycons (terrifying actually, i don't know how they haven't quit) and since i'm used to the small switch screen and the tv screen can show so much more detail i went "omg i never noticed the thought bubbles are outlined in a slight gray, not the same black outline as the speech bubbles!! wow new details!"

the circle of the crimson mirror makes me feel so unwell. like in the first episode leo gets upset with marcus for endangering himself, specifically calling him family and emphasizing that he doesn't want to lose his family, only to stop marcus' heart with his own hands in the finale.

edgar has burn scars in the shapes of his sister's hands where she held onto him as she died, and his little sister figure grimoria holds his hand as he dies in turn.

marcus and edgar spent the whole story protecting the circle- marcus by throwing himself into danger first and edgar by patching them up- and they're the two who are controlled and attack their friends.

grimoria wants so badly to be useful to the foggs, hoping in vain that they'll treat her better and won't abandon her, and in the end it's her clever and compassionate use of her abilities that saves the day.

leo was the sole survivor of a massacre that cost him his sister, for reasons he still doesn't know. he goes into the finale prepared to die, already having left everything he has to grimoria, but once again he survives. only this time, a sister figure survives with him.

they all loved each other so much! they called each other family, went to bat for each other in every way, cared about each other so so much and in the end it didn't matter enough to change anything. they saved newfaire, but they couldn't save each other.
