Inspired by the enchanting films of Studio Ghibli and the beloved game series The Legend of Zelda, this Dungeons & Dragons campaign setting has captured the hearts of gamers worldwide. Within minutes of its launch on August 1, the campaign reached its funding goal, and within 24 hours, it soared to a remarkable $400k.   Exploring Obojima: A World of Wonder In Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass, players will be transported to a fully-realized world, spanning over 250 pages of 5E content. This enchanting book will evoke a sense of cozy nostalgia reminiscent of beloved games and movies while introducing an array of exciting new options. The setting will feature playable races, subclasses, spells, magic items, feats, and much more.   Bringing Obojima to Life: The Talented Artists Behind the Project To visually breathe life into Obojima's captivating world, 1985 Games has enlisted the talents of two exceptional artists. Varguy Art, a German illustrator renowned for his simplicity and creativity, will contribute hundreds of stylized illustrations. Panel Per Day, also known as Scott Higginbotham, an Australian illustrator with a reputation for skillful character and creature design, will add his own unique touch to the project.

Obojima: Tales From The Tall Grass is divided into two halves. The first intricately details the island of Obojima, delving into its locations, characters, and rich lore. Finding Inspiration: A Childhood Dream Realized

Creative Director Jeremiah Crofton shares the story behind Obojima's inception, revealing that his love for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Studio Ghibli's Princess Mononoke sparked the idea. Drawing from these beloved influences, the team embarked on a quest to create a refreshing and imaginative 5E supplement that stands out in a sea of gritty realism.  

The Kickstarter Adventure: A Journey of Success

The Kickstarter campaign for Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass launched on August 1 and will run until the end of the month. The response has been overwhelming, with the introduction of 15 new products, Kickstarter exclusives, and an array of stretch goals that have made it one of 1985 Games' most successful campaigns to date.   A Special Gift for Early Supporters To show appreciation for early supporters, 1985 Games is gifting a handmade resin D20 as a callback to their previous VHS Dice Kickstarter. The D20 serves as a thematic tie-in to the world of Obojima, adding an extra touch of magic to the gaming experience.   Playtest Material: Join the Adventure Early Leading up to the launch, 1985 Games has been sharing playtest material with the community weekly.
