Malleus Draconia versus Ortho Shroud
It seems some people are surprised at Malleus’ actions? That he destroyed the robot dogs and almost destroyed Ortho.
But I would like to point out that Malleus has always been like this; very protective of his loved ones.
For example: In Lilia’s PE vignette, he nearly took Rook’s head off because he thought Rook was trying to hurt Lilia.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we come to book 7, chapter 7 update.
Yes, he destroyed the dogs and almost Ortho but remember Malleus is protective of his loved ones.
Malleus OBed because he wants his loved ones happy and Ortho is a threat to that, so of course he’s going to destroy any threats to them and Ortho basically labeled himself as such.
Now I want to bring up a point that I don’t see many talk about?
Malleus understood Ortho’s explanation about how Ortho woke up and how he was able to penetrate the barrier.
Ortho described himself as immortal basically because he can transfer his data to any body, which Malleus understood as transferring vessels.
This is when Malleus finally took the steps to destroy Ortho. Not because he wanted to kill him, but because he knew that Ortho would still live and transfer himself to another body.
Did Ortho feel fear? Yes because Orth doesn’t like lightning and that’s one of Malleus’ powers but think about it.
Feeling fear is an emotion no one wants to repeat. Malleus acknowledged that Ortho might be feeling fear
With Malleus knowing that Ortho can feel such things, Malleus told Ortho he would end him swiftly because in a way that is an act of kindess isn’t it? To end it quickly rather than prolonging the fear.
But at the same time he knows that Ortho will live and remember this emotion, and that’s what Malleus wants, so Ortho would be too scared to try again.
Malleus is protective of his loved ones and he always has been.
While his actions might seem as if he’s out of control, he isn’t. He understood in his own way what Ortho explained to him before making his move.
He didn’t attack because he’s raging but made a more calculative move on his end to stop Ortho, one that he would make repeatedly if need be, since he knows that Ortho can transfer bodies.

went to bed and woke up in a cold sweat realizing that claudia's play, the birdie one, is both a direct analogy for her story and also foreshadowing of her death WHILE ALSO nodding to pauls death
claudia'a single minded, desperate drive for freedom eventually lead her directly to her death. she was "nailed down" by lestat (by LOUIS, actually- lestat only kept her for him.), and tore herself free at the loss of her 'foot,' being a stand in for the personal pain she suffered for freedom
no matter what she or anyone did, she was going to die painfully, because she was so desperate to be free that everything was suffocating. lestat, louis, romania, the coven. the only thing that didnt rot in her mind was madeline, because... there simply wasnt time. madeline was fresh and new and, given time, would have probably suffered the same heel-turn claudia gave to everything.
of course thats because she shared louis' hopeful outlook. being free of her parents? would fix everything. when it didn't? maybe if she had louis, it would be worth it. but its not, lestats still here, louis is still in love with him... killing lestat, thatll fix it, and she and louis will be happy in romania, right, the homeland for vampirekind? not quite, so better try paris, the city of love. that doesnt work. the coven, though, will give her what she wants, right? she'll be happy with other vampires?
the only person who makes her happy is? a modern version of lestat? a weird white woman she met on happenstance, who has little to no care for societal norms or faux pas. a blunt, kind of funny, kind of sad woman who lost her family but has a capacity for enduring because what else is she going to do? die? no, she cant do that. she had no friends because she was weird and offputting and had dangerous rumors, no hangups on loving claudia, no hangups on dying or being a killer.
that's... just lestat. without the immortality and the specific traumas, of course, but like. claudia's most beloved person was a funhouse mirror of her most hated. which really speaks volumes for what they could have had, because it wasnt just a clash of personalities. it was lestats bpd clashing with hers and both of their attachment to louis clashing. if lestat had been better at sharing, if louis had been better at loving both of them, if claudia had been less angry at the world for nothing but existing? maybe they could have been a good family. a happy one forever, just like they all wanted, but were unable to give each other

turning over some thoughts upon recent silm rereading - so Fëanor's points of emphasis in his speech in Tirion are a) Morgoth killed my dad bc the Valar can't keep us safe, b) the elves ought to be ruling free lands in Middle-earth instead of here while Men supplant them, c) Morgoth also took my silmarils. but the oath, of course, only addresses this last point. while the silmarils will become the driving purpose of the rest of Fëanor's life and legacy, I think in this moment the silmarils and oath are also serving as something of a proxy for all of Fëanor's grievances. after all, they're the most tangible thing he can make a threat about - he could swear to avenge his father, but what's his goal for that? what's the success condition? maybe he would've gotten more takers beyond just his sons if he'd framed an oath around avenging the murdered king, but "take down Morgoth" is still fairly vague. it's also not very specific or achievable to say he'd prevent the coming of Men or declare an eternal race war so they don't inherit Middle-earth, either. the silmarils are rhetorically a good grounding point for his anger and desire for vengeance, and give him something that seems like a tangible place to throw down the gauntlet (which, in some way, is what the oath comes across as). saying "you took my stuff and i'm getting it back" sounds like an actionable threat, even if, as the Valar immediately point out, it's still essentially impossible.
so initially, I think "reclaim the silmarils" as the substance of the oath could be something of a shrewd rhetorical choice as well as a shorthand for Fëanor's broader motivations to go to Middle-earth and to fight Morgoth. and then over time (and without Fëanor there) the other goals fade away. the Noldor do after all secure lands to rule and they do live freely under their ancestral skies and all that, and it turns out Men aren't really so bad, so that whole anxiety is kind of solved. ultimately, avenging Finwë is what really falls by the wayside. and that would seem to demand vengeance against Morgoth specifically, personally, and more comprehensively than just stealing the silmarils. but again, bc the latter once seemed a little more tangible and more achievable, and then bc it's what they made their oath about, it becomes the only aim. but it didn't start that way

Cant sleep so im thinking about ayhalo
I think its like. one sided. qaypierre WOULD smooch that demon and take him on dates. qbad would not recognize anything as a romantic gesture. aypierre could throw a bouquet of chocolate roses at him and bad would just be like ! thank you :}
like they love each other, absolutely. they TRUST each other, to the point where i’d even say it gets in the way of bad seeing aypierre as anything more than a good friend. that’s his guy. The dude always in his corner. Friend resource label: team mate (coparent) (down to help kidnap people). bad doesnt do classic romantic relationships- all of his relationships are INCREDIBLY queer, but the closest he usually gets to what others read as romance is a classic chewtoy4chewtoy dynamic. He LOVES to fuck with people and he loves to get fucked with and if there’s a nice jawline or pretty muscles included?? huge bonus !!
he’s got something- not kinder, with aypierre? not calmer, either, but stable, maybe. pierre has proven, over and over again, that he’s on bad’s side. Spying on tubbo, encouraging bad’s pranks, the kidnapping- i can’t call it a reliable dynamic, not with how paranoid bad is, even when he trusts, but there is still a feeling of understanding that, wherever pierre’s limits are for when he cant support bad (or genuinely turn against him), it hasnt been reached yet
aypierre, on the other hand, i dont know enough about to be absolutely sure but there are some Vibes. ironically, i think hes feeling like his relationships are unreliable. max was going to have their baby, and then he wasnt, and then he left him, then max fucking died. plus whatever is happening with him and ayrobot, which probably leaves him feeling like he cant rely on Himself. like he had, if not a little crush on bad, at least some Interest in him, before. as well as several islanders. i remember the days of the Bed Threat.
but thats part of it, too? because those flings didnt have that emotional connection, and i always got the sense that he started looking for that with maximus, to Love and Be Loved rather than pure lust. To care about someone, genuinely, and be cared about in return. but he didnt get that with the flings, and We know that max was using him, but i dont know if he did, but maybe he had a feeling about it and maybe he also had a feelinf about maximus’ feelings towards bad and maybe- there’s something about that? A little push of not-spite-not-projection onto bad.
because bad IS that reliability, right now. he’s a fucking gremlin. a bastard. a prankster silly guy. he trusts aypierre and aypierre trusts him and they dont share everything but so often, when it comes down to it, it is them against the world. them in the corner, caught, aypierre shouting about kissing as a cover for their crimes while bad runs giggling away from him.

The thing about disventure camp is they do have interesting enough relationships between the characters but like. That is the main draw. So it ends up being that the most interesting part of the show is before and after the challenge, not during, because that’s when the characters talk and actually have meaningful interactions.
Total Drama had many problems but this wasn’t one because they took care to write challenges for the show that allow the characters to interact meaningfully with each other at length. And DC still hasn’t figure out how to do that.

sighs. thinking about all the different ways i could touch his face lovingly. cupping his face in my hands rubbing his cheeks or squishing them. scratching his chin. helping him apply his eye makeup (and faraday like myself doesn't wear makeup so it would be something they'd learn how to do just for him. maybe from vib...) and gently wiping it off at the end of the day when he's too tired to do it. just pressing cheeks together. nuzzling. gahhhh cringe gross YUCKY

I got BG3 back when it was still in beta and have gone through so many Tavs but never finished the game even once. Never have even made it into Act 2. I just get so anxious about decisions and if I'm "playing right." So a couple weeks ago, I start playing but as one of the companions: Lae'zel. She has one goal of which she reminds me of constantly: "I loathe waiting, I crave blood." All my choice anxiety has lifted. I'm just a lanky gith'yanki kid running around and committing war crimes. And my companions are shockingly supportive. Maybe they're cutting me extra slack because they put the youngest of all of them in charge of the group lol
The only time I got a disapproval (from all three of my party members at the time, btw: Astarion, Gale, and Kharlak) was when I booed Volo off the goblin stage. I stand by my booing. He deserved it.
I also haven't reloaded a save once until last night, when I nearly TPK'd us while sneaking around the goblin camp. Gale kept missing his spell attacks, Lae'zel went down first, Kharlak was surrounded by goblins like she was a kpop idol and they were her stans. But ASTARION. Oh man, I've figured out how to play rogue y'all, and I'm unstoppable. Astarion was up in the rafters like Batman just firing off sneak attacks left and right. Beautiful damage output, 10/10.
Had to reload, but will do it again.

How Many Personal Loans Can You Take Without Hurting Your Credit Score?
Introduction
A personal loan can be a great financial tool when managed responsibly. Whether for emergencies, home improvements, debt consolidation, or major purchases, personal loans provide quick access to funds without collateral. However, taking multiple personal loans can have a significant impact on your credit score and overall financial health. The question is: How many personal loans can you take before it starts affecting your credit score?
In this guide, we’ll explore how multiple personal loans impact your credit profile, the risks involved, and strategies to maintain a healthy credit score while managing multiple loans.
1. Can You Take Multiple Personal Loans?
Yes, it is possible to take multiple personal loans simultaneously, but whether it is advisable depends on your financial stability, repayment capacity, and creditworthiness. Lenders assess your financial background, credit history, and debt-to-income ratio before approving multiple loans.
A high credit score increases approval chances for multiple loans, while a low score may lead to rejections or higher interest rates. Lenders also consider your debt-to-income ratio, which measures how much of your income is already committed to existing debts. If your current loans already take up a large portion of your income, securing another loan may be difficult. A solid track record of timely EMI payments boosts eligibility for new loans, while missed payments can make lenders hesitant. Some banks and NBFCs restrict multiple loans, while others allow them with proper justification.
While multiple loans may provide financial flexibility, they also come with risks that can negatively impact your credit score if not managed wisely.
2. How Do Multiple Personal Loans Affect Your Credit Score?
Taking more than one personal loan can impact your credit score in several ways.
Each loan application triggers a hard inquiry by the lender. Too many hard inquiries in a short time can reduce your credit score, making lenders view you as a high-risk borrower. If your total debt obligations exceed a certain percentage of your income, lenders may hesitate to approve additional loans. High debt-to-income ratios indicate over-reliance on credit, negatively impacting loan approvals. Although personal loans are installment credit, taking multiple loans increases your overall debt load, which can reduce your ability to manage future financial commitments. Managing multiple EMIs increases the risk of missed payments, leading to a drop in your credit score. Missed or delayed payments are reported to credit bureaus, affecting future loan approvals.
If you plan to take multiple personal loans, managing them strategically is key to avoiding credit damage.
3. How Many Personal Loans Can You Take Without Hurting Your Credit Score?
There is no fixed number of personal loans that one can take without affecting their credit score. However, general guidelines can help borrowers make informed decisions.
Financial experts recommend keeping the number of active personal loans to a maximum of two or three. Borrowers with stable income, high credit scores, and low debt-to-income ratios may qualify for more, but taking too many loans increases financial strain. If you already have one or two loans, it’s essential to evaluate your ability to handle additional EMIs before applying for another.
Taking more than three personal loans is risky unless you have a high income and excellent financial management skills. If your credit score is high and your debt is well managed, you may qualify for more loans, but if your score is low, it is best to avoid additional borrowing until you improve your financial situation.
4. How to Manage Multiple Personal Loans Without Hurting Your Credit Score?
If you already have multiple personal loans or plan to take more, follow these best practices to avoid negative impacts on your credit score.
Avoid applying for several loans within a short period. If you need multiple loans, wait at least a few months before applying again. Applying for multiple loans within a short time leads to multiple hard inquiries, which can lower your score.
Paying EMIs on time is crucial to maintaining a healthy credit score. Late payments negatively impact your score and can lead to penalties. Setting up auto-debit payments can help ensure timely repayment and prevent missed EMIs.
Take new loans only if absolutely necessary. If you can manage your finances with existing credit, avoid taking additional loans. Consider alternatives like overdraft facilities or secured loans instead of adding multiple unsecured debts.
Keep your total EMI payments below a certain percentage of your monthly income. If your debt obligations exceed this percentage, lenders may view you as a high-risk borrower. If your debt-to-income ratio exceeds a safe limit, avoid applying for additional loans until you repay existing debt.
If managing multiple personal loans becomes challenging, consider a debt consolidation loan. Consolidating into a single loan with a lower interest rate can simplify repayments and improve financial stability.
By following these strategies, you can manage multiple personal loans effectively without hurting your credit score.
5. Alternatives to Taking Multiple Personal Loans
If you need additional funds but want to avoid taking multiple personal loans, consider these alternatives.
Requesting a higher credit limit on your credit card may be a better option than taking out another loan. If your spending needs are temporary, increasing your credit limit can help without adding a new loan to your credit profile.
A secured loan against a fixed deposit offers lower interest rates than a personal loan and is easier to manage. If you have savings in a fixed deposit, borrowing against it can be a more cost-effective solution.
A gold loan is a short-term financing option with minimal documentation. If you own gold, you can use it as collateral to obtain quick funds at competitive interest rates.
If you own property, borrowing against home equity can provide a larger loan amount at a lower interest rate compared to multiple personal loans. A home equity loan can be used for various financial needs, including debt consolidation.
A line of credit provides flexible borrowing options, allowing you to withdraw funds as needed and pay interest only on the amount used. This can be a better alternative to taking multiple personal loans at once.
Choosing the right alternative can help you reduce debt stress while maintaining a strong credit profile.
Conclusion
While it is possible to take multiple personal loans, doing so without proper planning can hurt your credit score and financial stability. Applying for more than two or three personal loans in a short period increases debt burden, lowers creditworthiness, and affects loan eligibility.
If you need multiple loans, space out applications, prioritize repayments, and maintain a low debt-to-income ratio. Consider alternative funding options to avoid excessive unsecured debt. By managing multiple personal loans responsibly, you can safeguard your credit score and financial future.

[minor kvetching]
god it really is like. if i'm not around to facilitate/audience my dad's entire dinner+tv evening routine he gets palpably cranky bc it feels to him like Clearly This Freeloader Is Having Too Much Fun. which is hilarious because my life is absolutely! fucking! empty! literally the only activities around here are (1) wandering thru wintry marshland in increasingly frigid temps and (2) a mediocre mall forty minutes away!
and then i make a comment about how expensive women's haircuts are (Baby Sister apparently now goes to someone who charges like $100/session?? which to me, a person who has spent $0 on haircuts since purchasing electric clippers a decade ago, feels absolutely outrageous, but of course she's not wrong that on an NYC scale you could do a lot worse!) and he's like, well, she can afford it because she's working, dig dig—and the thing is, absolutely no shade here to Baby Sister whom i love and respect, but like. fundamentally a significant chunk of both our lives involves work we do for him! it's just that she gets paid for it while i don't, because he respects what she does for him but thinks what i do (generally domestic and/or administrative upkeep) is unnecessary, even though he very clearly can't manage it himself and needs it done!
and yes i'm thrilled to be living a life straight out of austen (now with more transness!) in the twenty-first century, why do you ask. 🤡
