- Best Film in Indian Film Festival of Melbourne - Film "Fire In The Mountains" received Best Indie Film award - Ajitpal Singh has written and directed the film Mumbai: August 21: Film "Fire In The Mountains" received Best Indie Film award at the ongoing Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM), 2021. Ajitpal Singh has written and directed the film  and this is his debut Hindi feature. He is excited winning the Best Indie Film at IFFM. The self-taught filmmaker finds it heartwarming to see that his movie received Best Film Award. The story of the film based on the journey of a mother who toils to save money to build a road in a Himalayan village to take her wheelchair-bound son for physiotherapy but her husband who believes that a shamanic ritual 'Jaagar' is the remedy, steals her savings. Length of the Film is 82 minutes and it features Vinamrata Rai, Chandan Bisht and Sonal Jha. Supriya Pathak and Pawan Malhotra's Tabbar and comedy series Gullak season 3 also won big at the event. In northern India, a breathtakingly beautiful Himalayan community attracts tourists by commingling South Asian and Swiss Alps aesthetics. One local woman competes with her neighbors for business while battling the strictures of patriarchy, a local infrastructure from hell, and religious superstitions. She saves money, uses feminine wiles to subvert the corrupt powers-that-be, and piggy-backs her son up and down the mountainside to medical appointments with condescending doctors. In the end, our heroine’s tightly wound grit must find release… in triumph, or madness, or both.
