Conversation about Bigots

(Marc and Kiran are watching a cartoon together on the TV. Marc notices his little brother is looking rather down.)

Marc: You doing alright, Kir?

Kiran: Marc... what's a groomer?

(The older boy's face falls. He looks right at his brother and tries to keep his voice steady.)

Marc: W-where did you learn that word?

Kiran: Mr. Alec was doing a storytime at the bakery. He looked really cool, like someone from Nath's comics.

(Marc nodded, knowing that the drag story hour had gotten pretty popular with the kids, albeit with a few notable complainers. If it was the bakery that belonged to Marinette's grandpa, he was pretty sure he knew where this was going.)

Kiran: Mr. Roland. got really mad. He said something about Alec being a groomer. Then he yelled at him for being gay. I didn't get it. Alec wasn't hurting us!

(Marc sighs and pauses the TV.)

Marc: Kiran, you know how I love Nathaniel like how you love Sasha? And how some older girls love girls the way you love her? Like how Miss Bustier and Giselle are both mommies?

(Kiran nods)

Marc: Well, there are some people who don't like this. They think that queer people are trying to change kids to be like them, trying to do bad stuff to them. They're afraid and don't like things are different. But you have to understand, people like me are not groomers. We're just trying to live our lives.

Kiran: I know, but why couldn't he see we were happy? He made us all feel really scared.

Marc: Because people like him are very hard to reason with. If he ever tries to say stuff like that again, tell me or Mom and Dad, ok? Or tell Marinette's parents. Trust me, they know how to deal with him.

Kiran: Ok, Marc. I promise!

(He hugs his little brother, holding him tight.)

People who deserve redemption, according to Thomas Astruc, written from least to worst of a bad character.

Kim Lê Chiến

Dumbass teenage boy who could have killed Marinette with a dumb prank he was completely concious of, and willing to commit. The boy was also a brat/ bully throughout season 1, but after Dark Cupid had apparently decided to be nicer off screen. Became friends with Max and got a girlfriend... BUT still refers to Chloe as the funniest and prettiest girl, IN FRONT of said girlfriend. Sees nothing wtong with what he did to the point of getting upset enough to become akumatized over the issue. He was allowed to be a super hero without even apologizing to Marinette dor over a year, and did a lot of dumb stuff tht was also forgiven just because. Is also one of the most inconsistently written characters in tbe story.

Jagged Stone

Possibly the most likable man on the list. However this man abandoned his twins and didn't contact them for 14 years. He kept his identity a secret and it's not even known if he paid child support before coming back into their lives, and constantly having fights with their mother.

That said he's put low on the list because we don't know if he did or did not pay child support. He's not mean to his children or kids in general, he is legit trying to make up for his absence and he originally left because his life was too chaotic to have custody. There's a lot of ambiguity and behind the scenes drama that is not explored (*cough thought out cough cough*) in this family, and it's even possible the mom fought for full custody to keep him away after a big break up. The situation is too ambiguous to judge.

Sabrina Raincomprix

Sabrina has been Chloe's number 1 supporter and follower for almost a decade. They were childhood friends and wherever Chloe went, she went. She has been supporting Chloe bad deeds and even happily participating throughout most of them. There were two incidents in season 1 where they almost stopped being friends and Marinette made an attempt to leave the friendship once, but for the most part has stuck throigh and done everything Chloe has wanted her to do and loved doing it. This includes stealing, faking notes, doing her homework, coming up with schemes to bully, laughing at all the chaos, making grown women and other teens cry and so much more. She was even given the dog Miraculous in season 4, by Marinette, despite doing nothing to earn it and only being good at soccer and wanting to SAVE Chloe, so they could bully another day.

In the end she's given a redemption arc because she feels bad for stealing (all of a sudden), and because Chloe was becoming friends with Lilah. The fact she's an active participant in bullying who gets off on the power trip of putting others drown, is not brought up again

Alec Cataldi

Alec's career is based on putting other people down, and is responsible for the first akumatized victim in the show back in episode 1. For four seasons, his entire personality was finding people, mocking them, on television or in person, and getting views off it. He's a spiteful man who makes his living off the suffering of others.

However in season 4 we find out that his biggest dream was to become a drag queen when he was little, and he was mocked for it. After that happened he shaved his hair off and started putting down other people's passions, in the same way his had dreams had been squashed. After his first and only akumatization, he has a break down and epithany, decides to live his true self and raise people up instead instead. On paper, he has the best redemption arc so far.

Félix Fathom

Fèlix was introduced in season 3, and his first on-screen acts include destroying Adrien's things, trying to ruin his cousin's reputation and leave him friendless, sexually assaulting Ladybug, and stealing from the Agreste family. He continues his bad deeds in season four with identity theft, and stealing all the Miraculous' from Ladybug and giving them to Gabriel/ AKA Hawkmoth, in return for the Peacock Miraculous.

We learn in season 5 he's a sentimonster who's been acting out due to an abusive father and his fragile existence in the world. He uses his power to remove everyone in the world in a misplaced effort to make him and his cousin happy, before eventually being talked down by Kagami and Adrian.

He eventually starts stalking Kagami and after revealing himself, they start a relationship together. He seems socially inept and yet despite all his knowledge on his, Adrien's and Kagami's situation, he decides to never tell Adrian aboht what's happening and only Marinette in the most awkward dance number ever.

All in all Fèlix had every opportunity and all the power to reveal Hawkmoth's true identy from the start, but never took the steps to reveal his identity and work towards true redemption. And if he decided to tell Chat Noir/ Ladybug the whole story, the three of them could have defeated monarch. And Adrien and Kagami would nit have been forced to goto London.

André Bourgeois

Andrè is a corrupt mayor, who uses his elected title and money to regularly take advantage of the people of Paris. He has fired people without just cause (even his own "friends"), tried to steal things he was denied, abused funds, and enable his daughters worst decisions. He raised Chloe alone since she was 4-6, and has both neglected her emotional needs, refused to parent his child, rewarded her bad behavior with material possessions, and allowed her to idolize her mother, and even encouraged her to model her behavior after her mother she abandoned them, and then abandons her and hands her over to her abusive mother at the end of the series, while taking in her half sibling, who he has not raised and has no legal claim over.

Andrè blames the women in his life for how he's turned out. Claiming he only wanted to be a film director, and only left to be a successful business tirant and corrupt political figure, for his wife Audrey. Who he still stays married to after she cheats on him, and moves away for half a decade, abandoning hik and their own daughter. He chooses to stay married. Chose to stay in that career and chose to constantly rip off and screw over the people of paris. Often being the cause of akumatization, and ruinging big events for his daughter's whims. Keep in mind, the only reason Chloe is like this now, is because of Aundrè's parenting, yet he never takes responsibility for that, and instead decides to abdocate his position, illigally allow his daughter to take control of the city, let her take all the fall for HIS crimes, and then abandon her to live with his step daughter instead.

All this to say that Andrè may be the second worst on the list, but I hate him the most.

Gabriel Agreste

What can't you say about this man. This man loves being evil. He dances through the halls when a scheme looks like it's about to work. His entire power is taking advantage of people at thier worst, enslaving them and then making them do his bidding. His list of victims includes literal babies, children of all ages, the mentally ill, the elderly, and even his own son. The son which he claims to love but whom he actively manipulates, abuses and mistreats throughout the ENTIRE series. He literally controls him to make him do whatever he wants, and when he acts out or says something he does not like, he belittles him and will actively punish him if he gets less than perfect.

Gabriel also disrespects and will backstab all his allies. Has enslaved 2 kwami's and claims everything he does is for his dead wife, whose corpse he keeps locked away in his basement. He is actively going against her wishes to stay dead and manipulates the love of the women around him, like Natalie, to move forward with his evil plans.

Lastly when he says he does it all for his wife, he's lying. Because the when he has the opportunity to go back in time and save his wife, or fight Ladybug, he actively chooses the latter.

He constantly terrorizes Paris, actively makes situations worst for people to make more akumatized victims, destroys property, all while he hides away in the shadows. Then finally in season 5, when he is confronted by Ladybug, he is given the opportunity to reform and really think about what he did. To reflect on all he's done. He uses a moment of vulnerability and weakness to manipulate Marinette and treats her like the puppet she's named after. His last act of the show is stealing the Miraculous, using the cat and Ladybug to destroy and recreate the world how he wills, where he's the hero and no one knows he's the villain, and his son who he abused for 5 seasons and now has left parentless, now sees him as a hero.

Three years after his death, Gabriel Agreste awakens to a Paris ruled by akumas. He has no idea how he's alive, he has no idea what happened to Paris, all he knows it that he was the one who allowed this to happen. Hunted by the ghosts of his past, with no miraculous to protect him, and his greatest enemy now his only ally, Gabriel must brave this nightmare with Marinette Dupain-Cheng and make a choice: To become the villain he knows he is, or to find a way to become the father he failed to be.

Adrien drowned out the sound of the newscasters reacting to the footage, just playing it over and over in his head. The pieces of the puzzle kept forcing themselves into place, but Adrien refused to look at the whole picture. He couldn't. "It's fake," Adrien muttered, his voice low and shaky as he stared at the TV. His hands gripped the arms of his chair so tightly his knuckles turned white. "It's all fake. The footage is a lie." He shook his head violently as though trying to dislodge the idea from his brain. His jaw clenched, and his chest heaved with laboured breaths. "Father… he couldn't have been Hawkmoth. I live in the same damn house as him!" His voice shook, rising to a desperate pitch. "I would've noticed. I would've known." Rocking back and forth, he just couldn't sooth the itch in his bones. "He's not capable of Monarch's terrible deeds. He would never…" His fingers found themselves lost in his hair, pulling himself ragged. "He would have figured out who Chat Noir was and stopped, because he loves me. He's my father… He loves me…"

Bombshell

It’s him—the man, the legend, the hardest friggin hero design I’ve done for this AU so far—Alec Cataldi as the Turtle. Bombshell. He’s kind of a loose cannon, just running around dropping shelters on people in the most unbelievably chaotic way imaginable, annoying both the villains and the heroes with nonstop insults and commentary on literally everything. He’s basically just a massive pain, but also surprisingly effective.

His backstory… I guess I’m canonizing him being Manon’s father for this AU, only he and Nadja are split up because they grew to a point in their relationship where they could no-longer stand each other. Alec Ticks off some guy whose idea for a game show he shot down, and the guy goes and diggs up dirt on him, finding out about his ex-wife and child. The guy gets akkumatized and creates a death trap for them both as a part of his game show thing and Alec tries to save them, but is unable to do so on his own. Lady Luck and Matagot are both unable to reach Nadja and Manon, and Master Fu determines that they need backup, so he sends Wayze to Alec so that he has the power he needs to win. Kinda a rough origin, I know, but that’s the general idea at least.

Miraculous Descendent Chapter 46: Simon Says: Challenge Yourself

Previous Chapter

Today, several people from Miss Bustier's are at the KIDZ+ TV Station to compete in one of its game shows called The Challenge. Well, only one of them is competing. However, the person in question was recently turned into an Akuma that did more damage than Stoneheart and begged everyone he knew to come with him for support because he's terrified of being on live TV.

Said classmate is also backstage with his classmates surrounding him, breathing heavily behind a paper bag as he sits on his DJ equipment.

"Just take it easy and breathe, Nino. I promise you'll be able to handle this." Adrien tells his friend as he reassuringly pats them on the back. His bodyguard stands behind the group, watching everyone with a hawk's eyes.

"Man, you have bad luck with timing. I mean, you became one of the most dangerous villains a week before you had to come here since you and your parents signed you up to take part in The Challenge. What the heck are the chances of that." Nate tells him before another classmate's words echo backstage.

"More than one and a million due to Hawkmoth, more often than not, would create one villain a week, and Paris has a population of millions. Not to mention tourism. However, the chances increase when you consider how often our school is attacked." Max informs in his usual factual tone.

Marinette, Sabrina, Alix, Alya, Nathaniel, and Juleka give Nate and Max flat looks as Rose and Kim try to help Nino calm down.

"You'll do great out there, Nino. Here, look at these pictures of the animals at the shelter. Their faces always make me feel better." Rose says as she shows Nino various pictures of her and the animals at the animal shelter she volunteers at.

"Yeah, man. Don't worry. Right now, all you're going through are pre-event jitters. It happens to me when I compete in different sports. When you get out there, you'll feel better and start to get your rhythm back. The best thing to remember is to focus on the goal and not the crowd. Just block them out. That's how some out teams in sports handle being in enemy territory." Kim tells Nino as he explains what to do via sports.

"Thanks, guys. I'm glad you came to support me after what I did to your parents." Nino thanks the group with a smile.

"Don't worry about it. I was the guy that ruined Paris' new holiday." Kim tells him.

"And I was the one that attacked the hotel on a big day. Sorry about that, by the way," Rose says while looking toward Marinette and Nate with an apologetic look.

'It happens." Nate shrugs nonchalantly while Marinette gives her a kind smile.

"Don't worry about it, Rose. You weren't in control of your actions." She tells the other girl.

"Besides, Rose isn't here for you. She's signed up for this contest too." Juleka explains, causing multiple heads to turn toward the shorter girl.

"Wait? Seriously?" Alix asks in shock as she stares at the smiling visage of Rose.

Rose grins at them and says.

"Yep. I'm hoping to use this as an opportunity to get the word out about shelter animals. My friends at the shelter helped me come up with a speech for it, too. I'll explain how having an animal can help your stress and keep Hawkmoth from getting you." Rose explains while excitedly grinning.

"That's awesome, dudette. But how are you staying so calm if you're going to be on stage like me?" Nino asks her in surprise.

"If you stay positive, good things will come your way. That's how I like to think. And it's true. The only reason I got Akumatized was because of Chloe." Rose tells them, looking sad at the last part.

Nate winches at that and says.

"Yeahhhhh, that girl knows how to go for the throat verbally when it comes to people's insecurity. You'd almost think she was working for Hawkmoth with how much of a bully she still is despite what's happening in Paris. Well, the Alya one wasn't her fault, at least. But she still caused about two, I think. It is at least two, right?" Nate asks while looking around the group for confirmation.

"Yep, Rose and I are her victims." Kim quickly says while raising his hand.

"I'm pretty sure I fall under that category as well," Nathaniel says, nervously raising his hand.

"So far, there have been about twenty Akumas. With six being from our class." Sabrina explains before Alya cuts in with an angry expression.

"No, there have been nearly twenty. Seven were from our class, and ten were from our school. Don't forget about Nathaniel." Alya says while pointing toward the redhead.

Sabrina blinks in surprise before looking toward Nathaniel apologetically.

"You're right. Sorry Nathaniel. Yours was the only non-televised one and was at night." Sabrina apologizes.

"It's fine, Sabrina." Nathaniel quickly tells her.

"Also, what do you mean my transformation wasn't her fault? It totally was." Alya snaps at Nate with a glare that doesn't deter him.

"It really wasn't." He shrugs.

Before Alya can go at his throat, Marinette and Sabrina get between the two.

"Let's all calm down. We're here to support our classmates as they go on live TV. Not bicker." Sabrina says, and Marinette nods.

"Yeah. Nate. Can you please not antagonize anyone while we're here." Marinette begs her cousin.

Nate doesn't say anything and holds his hands up in defeat while Alya glares at him.

Nino and the group trying to cheer him up watch this, and Nino can't help but laugh.

"Thanks, dudes. That really put me in a better mood." Nino tells them with a grin.

Suddenly, someone with a clipboard walks toward the group and looks at Rose and Nino.

"You two will be up soon. You'll be going first." They tell Rose.

Rose gulps before quickly nodding her head.

On TV screens across Paris, a logo of two rainbow-colored boxing gloves slam together with a purple background. When they make contact, there's a rainbow-colored explosion outline.

"Welcome everyone to your number one live game show: The Challenge! Today, we have an interesting line-up of celebrities and contestants." Alec Cataldi enthusiastically introduces the show with a broad smile.

"Before we start the show, though. I have another special announcement to make. I know there was some controversy with our station's weather girl contest. However, we're putting that aside to announce the contest winner and our new weather girl. Or, should I say, weather girls? Introducing our two new weather girls on the KIDZ+ network, Aurore and Mireille." Alec shouts as the two weather girls come out from behind the stage on the opposite side of where Bustier's class is.

"I know this isn't what you expected, seeing as only one of them won the contest. But, the truth is we were going to have them both join. We just decided to play a little prank on one of them that went too far." Alec explains with a bashful smile as he rubs the back of his head while Aurore glares daggers into his skull.

Next to her, Mireille is nervously fidgeting. She's not the only one nervous. Nathaniel can feel a pit of shame and guilt forming in his stomach as he sees Mireille.

"I should go." Nathaniel nervously says as he goes to leave, not wanting to be seen by the girlfriend of his former crush and victim when he was Evillustrator.

"Come on, man. I'm sure it'll be fine." Alix says as she stops him from leaving by grabbing the back of his shirt. It's pretty comedic, considering her size.

"I'd rather not take the chance. Can you please let me go?" Nathaniel begs.

"Nope," Alix says with a smirk as she keeps a firm grip on him.

"Before they begin their jobs as our weather girls, though. They'll be acting as my assistants for today. So everyone, give them a round of applause." Alec enthusiastically says as he begins clapping his hands with a crowd of claps following him.

Aurore takes it with a happy smile while Mireille shrinks at the attention.

"Now then, introducing our first contestant of the day, she was one of the victims of Hawkmoth but is still a bubbly ball of positive energy. Welcome, Rose Lavillant!" Alec enthusiastically shouts as he motions toward the backstage while waiting for Rose to come on stage.

Rose quickly walks onto the stage while waving at the camera.

"Welcome to the show, Rose," Alec tells her with a smile.

"Thank you." Rose politely says with her beaming smile.

"So, you're a student and often volunteer at one of the animal shelters in Paris. That's very impressive." Alec compliments the girl.

"Thank you." Rose takes the compliment in stride.

"You must see all sorts of cute animals," Aurore adds.

"Oh, absolutely. But all animals are cute in their own way if you give them a chance.

"Can you show us some?" Mireille asks with a nervous smile.

"Of course," Rose says as she pulls out her phone. The TVs across Paris display pictures of her and different animals.

"They're adorable." Aurore gushes at the photos.

"Thank you."

"Well, Rose, do you have anything you want to say before we begin your challenge?" Alec asks with a smile.

"Absolutely!" Rose shouts enthusiastically before turning toward the camera.

"If you're looking for something to help you stay positive during this plight against Hawkmoth, you should go to your local animal shelters and adopt one of the animals there. Having a pet is a great way to make you happy since they're all bundles of love and attention." Rose tells everyone watching with her trademark smile.

"What a wonderful idea," Alec says while clapping his hands.

Aurore herself is thinking about getting a cat.

"Now then, let's move on to your challenge. Alec says as Jagged Stone appears live on screen from his hotel room.

"Oh no." Juleka quietly cringes in distaste when she sees the man's face.

"What's up, Pixie Rock?" Jagged asks Rose with a grin.

"Hi, Mr. Stone. Thanks again for the autograph." Rose tells him with a grin.

"No problem. Now, what do you have in store for me?" Jagged Stone asks.

"We have something special in store for you. Rose here will be making you smile and coo at something adorable. The challenge is she only has one chance." Alec explains, causing Jagged Stone to raise a brow at him before smirking.

"Ha, I'd like to see her try. I'm too rock and roll to fall for that." Jagged says with a challenging smirk.

"Alright, Rose, you're up," Alec tells her, and Rose walks forward with a smirk.

"So, you think I can't make you react to something cute?" Rose asks him.

"Nope, I'm not going to fall for any of those kitten or puppy videos either. They're not rock and roll enough for my style." He tells her.

"Alright then," Rose says as she goes through her phone for a specific video.

While she's doing that, Jagged prepares himself by putting on a stern expression and thinking about annoying things like his manager and the manager's son.

"Here we go. Try not to react to this," Rose tells him as she displays a video.

Jagged Stone sees it's a video of baby crocodiles. One crocodile falls onto its back and struggles to get up like a turtle. This immediately breaks Jagged Stone.

"Aw, look at the poor little Fang. They're struggling to get up. It reminds me of when my Fang first hatched. Little ankle biter was a pain." Jagged says before said crocodile pounces on him, ending the call.

"Well, looks like that was a success. Thank you, Rose. Everyone, give her a hand." Alec instructs as he, Aurore, and Mireille clap their hands for the girl as she leaves.

"Thank you for your time!" She shouts before sagging her shoulders in relief when she's out of view.

"Oh, that was so scary. I was so nervous." Rose tells her group as Juleka walks up and hugs the shorter girl.

"You did great," Juleka tells her.

"Thanks. I think I'm going to sit down now." Rose says as she walks toward one of the crates and sits down with Juleka.

"We're going to take a short break before returning for you to see our next contestant, Nino. Be prepared for some sick beats with him, folks." Alec tells them while making DJ motions before it cuts to a commercial break.

"Great job, you two. You're doing good for your first assignment." Alec tells them as someone runs up to him with a water bottle.

"Thanks." Mireille nervously accepts the compliment.

Aurore doesn't say anything to him, and Alec doesn't comment on it, knowing exactly why.

From the main stage, Nino reviews his equipment as he nervously prepares for his turn.

"You've got this, Nino," Adrien reassures his friend as he helps him set up.

"Yeah. I went up, and you saw how easy mine was. You'll have no problem winning your challenge." Rose enthusiastically cheers for her fellow contestant.

Nino grins at that, feeling slightly better.

"Yeah, you're right. I've got this. It'll probably be another easy one." Nino reassures himself out loud.

"Never say that unless you want to jinx yourself," Nate says before getting elbowed in the gut by a glaring Marinette.

"Will you be quiet for ten minutes? At least save the remarks for after he's finished so you don't make him any more nervous." She snaps at him while he holds his stomach.

"Sorry. You would think I'd learn after how often my mouth has gotten me in trouble." Nate mutters to himself.

"You really should think about keeping your opinions to yourself. You'll get in trouble that you can't get out of one day if you don't." Sabrina warns the other teen with a glare of her own.

"I'll consider that after I've pissed off the next Akuma," Nate mutters as he finally recovers.

"Ha. That's if you're able to." Alix laughs at him as Kim pats him on the back with a grin.

"I still can't believe you snapped at Nino like that when he was a villain. You are crazy, man." Kim tells him, causing the other teen to groan in embarrassment.

His confrontation with The Bubbler was recorded, and he became relatively more famous because of it as 'the teen that stood up to Hawkmoth'. It's not something he's happy about, though.

"Please, stop. I really don't want to hear that. I almost peed myself after they lost their temper, too." Nate tells them while pushing Kim's hand off him.

"Statistically, you're likely not to survive your next confrontation with an Akuma," Max warns him.

Nate doesn't comment, wishing to end the conversation now.

After a minute, everyone is preparing to go on the air again. When they do, Alec immediately takes off.

"Welcome back to your number one game show: The Challenge!" Alec shouts as the gameshow logo appears on televisions across Paris.

"Let's give it up for our next awesome contestant and classmate of Rose. Please welcome, Nino!" Alec shouts as Nino walks on stage with someone bringing his DJ set.

As Nino goes on stage, Marinette gets a call from her mom. Quickly moving off to the side, Marinette answers the call.

"Hi, Maman. Is everything okay?" Marinette asks in worry.

"Marinette, what is this I got from school about you going missing during Akuma attacks or missing in some of your classes?" Sabine asks her daughter in an angry and disappointed tone.

Marinette's eyes widen in panic before looking toward Nate. Luckily, Nate was looking at her around the same time, so he caught the worried look. Marinette waves for him to come over, and he quickly follows along.

"I'm very disappointed in what I've been hearing from your school recently, Marinette. We'll talk about this more when you and Nate get home." Sabine warns her daughter as Nate runs up to Marinette.

"What's wrong?" He asks her in a whisper.

Marinette puts a hand on her phone before looking at him with a panicked expression.

"Mom found out that I've been missing." She whispers back to him.

Nate's eyes widen in horror, and he frantically whispers back.

"What? I thought you were keeping your grades up?" He asks her.

"I am. They're still really high." Marinette confirms his thoughts.

"Marinette, Marinette, are you listening?" Sabine asks her daughter in a demanding and frustrated tone.

"Yeah, sorry. Nate just walked over here." Marinette quickly apologizes and explains to her mom.

"Good, put him on as well. I want to talk to him." Sabine says sternly.

As the two deal with this, Alec is showing Nino his celebrity.

"Your challenge today is to make the mayor dance to your music!" Alec announces as a video call of Tom appears.

"Hello," Tom says with a smile as he waves toward the camera.

"Glad to have you here, mayor," Alec tells the mayor with a smile.

"Happy to be here, Alec. Entertainment is a good way to keep people from being attacked by Hawkmoth." Tom tells the man.

"Glad to hear you think so highly of my profession. Now, are you ready for the challenge? All you have to do to win is not let Nino make you dance. Do you think you can do that?" Alec asks the man, causing Tom to laugh.

"I doubt it. I'm someone who always enjoys a good song." Tom tells him.

"Well, try your best, now begin." Alec orders, causing Nino to begin playing his music.

As Nino plays his music, someone enters the studio and walks up to the group next to Adrien.

The man in question is tall and lean, with combed wavy brown hair that shows his forehead, light skin, and bluish-grey eyes. The man is dressed in a black button-up dress shirt with a white undershirt, black bowtie, pants, and shoes. Over the man's suit is a vibrant purple jacket with red and dark purple lines and light purple stars.

"Hey, you're Simon Grimault!" Kim says excitedly as he runs up to the man.

The man gives the teen a kind smile and offers a hand.

"It's always nice to meet a fan." He tells Kim as the others look at them in confusion.

"Who?" Nathaniel finally asks in confusion.

"Simon Grimault. He's a famous hypnotist. I can't believe I'm getting to meet you in person. I'm so glad I came to support Nino." Kim says as he excitedly grabs Simon's outstretched hand with both of his and rapidly shakes it.

Simon takes it with an everpresent smile before Kim finally lets go. He then moves his hand to shake the next person's, Adrien, before Mr. Garde gets between them with an aggressive expression.

"No, it's okay." Adrien quickly tells his bodyguard as Simon backs away in shock.

On the stage, Nino had no trouble getting Tom to dance. The mayor is currently bopping his head with the music while tapping his hands on his desk to the beat.

"Challenge success. Man, it looks like our younger contestants are having a breeze today. Do we have any easy mode or something?" Alec asks goodnaturedly while looking toward his two assistants.

Mireille shakes her head no while Aurore shrugs.

"Well, Mayor Dupain. Thanks for taking the time to be on our show." Alec thanks Tom for his time.

"No problem, Alec. Have a nice day." Tom says as the call ends.

"Our mayor, ladies and gentlemen. Now, since it seems like our younger contestants are having a breeze, let's see if one of our older ones can handle their challenges. Starting with Paris' well-known hypnotist, welcome, Simon Grimault!" Alec shouts as an image of the man pops up on the screens of televisions across the city while he walks on stage.

"Welcome to the show, Simon. So, are you feeling confident about your hypnotic powers since our two younger contestants succeeded in their challenges?" Alec asks, and Simon smiles.

"Well, I haven't met a person I can't hypnotize yet. So, I'm pretty confident I can do it today." Simon tells him.

"And you use cards to hypnotize people instead of the classic coin or watch trick, right?" Alec asks, causing Simon to nod again.

"That's correct." Is all he says with a pleasant smile.

"This should be an interesting challenge to witness then. Because we have an extra special guest just for you, Simon." Alec says as a video call is ringing behind them, much to the confusion of Alec's two assistants.

When the call is answered, everyone is shocked to see who is on the other end, none more so than Adrien.

"Your challenge is to make Paris' most elusive celebrity come to this TV station with your hypnotism," Alec announces as the stern image of Gabriel appears.

"What is this show? I was told this was an interview." Gabriel frowns in confusion as he glares at the screen.

Adrien's jaw drops as a couple of his classmates turn to him.

"Dude, your dad?" Nino asks in confusion, not sure how to react to this.

"Well, do your thing, Mr. Grimault. Let's see if you can bring Mr. Agreste here with your hypnotic persuasion!" Alec tells him.

"I don't make people d-" Simon starts with a worried expression before being interrupted.

"Ha! A shy hypnotist! How funny is that, Gabriel?" Alec asks the celebrity and is met with a scathing glare.

"Hilarious? Your show is nothing but a pathetic waste of time. Your contestant is equally pathetic. Control me? Never." Gabriel scoffs before picking up a remote and ending the call.

Everyone winches at his words, and Adrien can't help but mutter.

"Yeah, that's my dad."

"Well, Simon. Gabriel has ended our call according to the rules; that's an automatic disqualification." Alec announces, much to the shock of the studio.

"What, but that's not fair!" Simon says in shock.

"Well, we can check the rulebook if you feel that strongly against it. Aurore, Mireille." Alec calls as two stagehands give the girls two copies of The Challenge's rulebook.

While this happens, Gabriel smirks in his office as he transforms and uses Kaleidoscope to enter his secret lair. 

"The Challenge, a novel idea for a game show. This unexpected twist gives me a chance to create a rather talented Akuma. Unlike Pixelator, this Simon Grimault should perform admirably with the humiliation and anger building within him and his talent for hypnotism. I'll turn you from a loser into a winner. Though, I should move on the side of caution here. He'll likely be targeting me as well." Hawkmoth says with a smile as he creates a black butterfly and sends it off toward the studio to turn Simon into an Akuma.

"Luckily, I already have the perfect second host in mind. She's already there, and I can feel the anger building up within her from someone else facing the same injustice she felt." Hawkmoth grins as an image of Stormy Weather appears within his staff's glass bulb.

Suddenly, one of the magic specks within the bulb forms into another butterfly while Hawkmoth mutters.

"Parallel."

The butterfly phases out of the bulb and follows after the first one toward the TV station.

At the KIDZ+ station, Aurore has an evergrowing angry expression as she reads the disqualification rules. She slams the book close before throwing it off stage.

"Now, was that necessary?" Alec asks with a playful smile as Aurore glares at him.

"Are you kidding me with this? You're doing the same thing as with the contest!" She snaps at him, but Alec doesn't seem to care.

"Come on, it was just some bad luck," Alec tells her before looking at Simon.

"Well, thanks for coming on the show, Simon. Maybe you'll get another chance later." Alec says as he starts pushing Simon off stage.

"Wait, but-" Sadly, his pleas are being ignored, and he's tossed out the doors.

Kim chases after Simon while more than a few of Bustier's students are glaring at Alec for his trick.

Kim sees Simon walking down the hallway dejectedly and quickly runs up to him.

"Are you okay, Mr. Grimault?" Kim asks the man in worry.

Seeing the teen's worried expression, Simon gives him a sad smile.

"I'll be fine, young man. Thank you for coming to check on me." Simon thanks him before continuing his walk.

Kim continues to give Simon a worried look, but before he can say anything else, he sees a black butterfly.

"Watch out, sir!" Kim shouts while pointing toward the butterfly.

Simon turns toward the young man but doesn't have time to react before the butterfly lands on his card deck.

A butterfly outline appears in front of Simon's face, and Kim immediately runs to the studio to warn everyone.

"Simon Says, I am Hawkmoth, and I can help you become the world's greatest hypnotist. All I ask in exchange is for you to give me the Miraculous of Paris' heroes." Hawkmoth tells him.

"Yes, Hawkmoth." Simon smiles as black smoke envelops him.

With Kim, he slams open the studio doors while screaming.

"Akuma!"

"We know!" Alix shouts at him as she runs out the door, their classmates trying to follow her lead.

Kim looks at them in confusion before hearing cackling. He turns his head to see Aurore is Stormy Weather again, and she's giving Alec a sadistic smirk while in the air.
