“He’s such a great person and another guy that was a tremendous leader when I was a young guy. I’m sure I’ll be hearing from him at some point, not only about [the Canucks most points by a defenceman record] but just about catching up.”
Quinn Hughes about Alex Edler (Apr. 16, 2025)

"He's, now, got 20 of those [multipoint games] this season. That is tied for fourth in the national hockey league, but tops among defensemen" ... "I can't believe I'm saying this, but we're gonna have to start paying closer attention to his chase after Alex Edler who he now trails by 18 points for the al time scoring record."
I love it. Continue these yaps about Quinn.

“let’s fucking go!!!”
Canucks thoughts 11/29/2024:
This truly was Conor Garland’s night, but everyone did a great job stepping up to offset the loss of yet another one of this team’s core players. Brock and Joshua seem like they’re working their way back into form - Joshua almost set Myers up for a tap-in (that would have been sick), and Brock had a multi-point night!
The penalty kill was also stellar, going 5/5 on the night with one of its most important members gone. That was huge to prevent the Sabres from building momentum and putting the game out of reach. The defence without Hughes continued to be an issue, however, and it remains to be seen whether they can stabilize - Soucy looked more reliable this game, but we’ll see if he’s able to sustain a higher level of play over more games.
The Canucks got a little silly and blew a 3-1 lead in 3 minutes, but fortunately they have Quinn Hughes, who is a cheat code in overtime. Him and Garland put on a show, dominating puck possession and connecting for an amazing Garland tap-in. Garland has a point in every game since becoming a father! He’s putting that new dad energy to full use, and with that goal, Quinn tied Alex Edler in all-time Canucks defencemen assists in 538 less games. He’s truly a special player. Hopefully next game he becomes the sole leader against the team that passed on drafting him!
