《如果你把我忘了 If You Forget Me》 by Pablo Neruda
I want you to know one thing.
You know how this is: if I look at the crystal moon, at the red branch of the slow autumn at my window, if I touch near the fire the impalpable ash or the wrinkled body of the log, everything carries me to you, as if everything that exists, aromas, light, metals, were little boats that sail toward those isles of yours that wait for me.
Well, now, if little by little you stop loving me I shall stop loving you little by little.
If suddenly you forget me do not look for me, for I shall already have forgotten you.
If you think it long and mad, the wind of banners that passes through my life, and you decide to leave me at the shore of the heart where I have roots, remember that on that day, at that hour, I shall lift my arms and my roots will set off to seek another land.
But if each day, each hour, you feel that you are destined for me with implacable sweetness, if each day a flower climbs up to your lips to seek me, ah my love, ah my own, in me all that fire is repeated, in me nothing is extinguished or forgotten, my love feeds on your love, beloved, and as long as you live it will be in your arms without leaving mine.
(PS. I don’t own any music and songs right, I just make the playlist for listening easily and enjoy all musicians your works and love to share it only. all copyright belongs to musician & singer. If you want me do delete yours from the playlist, please tell me then I will do it. Blessings! Thanks! Lan~*)

Vi Redd.
In Vi’s 1968 Newport Jazz Festival appearance with Dizzy Gillespie he treated her with significant sexism, including commenting to the audience that her warm up was “close enough to jazz.”
Vi slayed during that performance with a Bird inspired alto sax solo, and later collaborated with Basie on “Stormy Monday Blues.”

Ohhhhh my gosh. So I’ve been playing (alto) saxophone for about four years, one where I was playing it for jazz band only. It’s my second instrument (that I’m intermediate at, at least) and switching from flute to sax was a bittt rough, and I never properly learned how to tongue on sax- a couple of my other basics were a bit jacked up as well (mostly just in the embouchure)
Anyway, TLDR; I learned sax incorrectly
Buuuuuttttt
For the first time ever, I got lessons yesterday (with the intention to go every week for the foreseeable future)
And. Holy shiiitttt. The difference it’s made already- I do sound a little worse, for the time being- getting used to using my embouchure differently and using my tongue in the correct spot (for those curious, I was tonguing on the roof of my mouth above the mouthpiece- very limiting when trying to double tongue lol) so with all the changes, I’m playing a bit awkward & squeaking/struggling to get notes out sometimes, but it *feels* so much better even if it doesn’t feel as natural
All that to say, the lessons were awesome & I am 100% going back, no question about it

What's sexier than an alto saxophone? Nothing. Anyone who denys it is a coward.

Song of the Day:
Moondance - Van Morrison
(From the album with the same name)
In “Moondance,” Van Morrison combines romantic lyrics with fun jazz vibes to create a magical atmosphere perfect for a moonlit night. The song starts with a lively intro featuring a walking bass by John Klinberg, acoustic guitar by Morrison, and piano by Jef Labes, making you want to sway along. There’s also a cool instrumental bridge that shows off classic jazz instruments, especially the alto saxophone played by Jack Schroer. Morrison thinks the song is sophisticated, and he believes it could fit right in with Frank Sinatra's music.
The song’s chords and rhythms add to its jazzy feel, with major and minor seventh chords that make it sound rich and exciting. The catchy, syncopated rhythms really get you moving while you listen to the romantic lyrics. As the song goes on, it ends with a fun jazzy jam, where Morrison’s voice and the instruments all come together. Overall, “Moondance” is a classic celebration of love and jazz, showing just how talented Van Morrison really is!

not my first ofc bcs of the clarinet i played for concert band like end of last year but fuck yeah its hard asf to play and im gonna march with it too
my band director gave me the last reed she had which is like a 2 1/2 which isnt bad but i just struggle a bit with yknow like breathing xd
if i can find some more 2 1/2 and maybe some size 2 reeds ill def get them and im thinking abt getting like a bari sax type harness for it too bcs the neck strap that i have is so fucking uncomfortable and it hurts to wear and i feel like a harness will help distribute weight out more evenly too
oh that’s good yeah then you’ve got a base to start with at least. for breath control and yk having enough breath, what i always did to help me with my sax was doing exercises where i’d take the absolute deepest breath i could and holding it for as long as i could and then letting it out as long as i could with a reed in my mouth to simulate some kind of an embrochure. i’m glad your director had some reeds for you too!!
and 100% get a harness. you will absolutely suffer if you try to march with that monster and just a neck strap lmfao. even marching with an alto sax and a neck strap killed me, i was always so sore after~🎃
