Schlagwerk RT "RIQ" Riqq Frame Drum
youtube

This instrumental blends traditional Arabic music with orchestral arrangements. I love its rich melodies and intricate rhythms.

This is a playlist of some of my favorite songs. There’s no specific vibe or flow, it’s very eclectic.

hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it.

I absolutely loved this one! My dad's side is Lebanese and Syrian and I swear my ears knew that because I've loved Middle Eastern music since I was a kid and before I delved into learning about my heritage.

New video released today on Youtube. "Qataban" produced by Shahin.
This is the sequel to his previous release "Anuket", continuing th theme of offering solidarity & support to the women and girls of Afghanistan, Iran and Nigeria fighting bravely for their rights against oppressive regimes, a message also extended to all around the world suffering physical & mental abuse and injustice.
At a turbulent time for global politics where attentions have focused elsewhere, it's a timely reminder that their plight has not been forgotten, they are still seen, and they will prevail with dignity.

I've never really put much attention to it because the majority of the content I have always engaged with is either in arabic /darija/ italian (which are my native languages) or english (which I'm fluent in) or french and spanish that I can understand to a decent extent, so I can fill the gap whenever google translate doesn't get it.
Only now, trying to translate tweets in a language I absolutely have 0 knowledge in as turkish, I'm really realising how utter shit google translate is. And it's kind of frustrating because it's not this shit with english or french or spanish or italian. If this is not political I don't know what it is. There's no linguistics explanation as to why this tool only works decent with just a bunch of "powerful" european languages
