In one of my journeys through Bali, I discovered a captivating scene in a modern hotel courtyard. Might have a request: There’s a theory that Doug was trying to escape to the moon. So what if he actually succeeded? Then you can torment our Rat Boy on the moon.

(Genuinely curious to see your take on this cause I’ve been thinking a lot about WHAT Aperture might’ve had on the moon. And you’re like THE Rattmann artist.)

So. I've been thinking a lot about this. Looking for some special way to make him suffer on the moon. Not realistic or scientifically interesting or something, but special. Didn't get really much but here you go:

Painting the walls, — he is in four walls again! — being killed with boredom.. little cube is the only delight. Is this really the freedom he was looking for? No way back anyway.

So here he goes. Chell never broke free. Space core was never seen out of the windows of the station. Bored as hell.. dream came true not as expected.

Dean literally stated he's still against the trend. They were gonna make this movie with or without him anyway. And he only agreed because this franchise is his baby, whether you agree with his decisions or not. Filmmakers are doing their job. The interviews are just him doing his job promoting the movie whether it's good or bad.

yeah I know he did that's why I'm mad, like I stated before:

The "it was gonna happen anyways" is not something that changes anything for me. If Dean really was against them he should've taken a stand and MAYBE callout the industry? something that's sorely needed??? Maybe said: "As an animation director, I won't be a part of this and they shouldn't do this with this beloved franchise that I helped make, animation should be taken seriously" but no? he said oh well If I can't fight them I might as well join them essentially, which IS part of the problem.

As people in the animation industry, they all should really start making a stand against these soulless live action remakes, maybe that would've been more impactful, start a conversation, instead of giving it more credit by being a part of it, cause to me there's NOTHING positive about live action remakes... Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I hope someone with a voice in the industry actually does that someday.

Also it may be his baby but he still destroyed its legacy w httyd3, so him "making it" doesn't really give him too much credit (I still think Chris sanders stepping down from writing the two last movies was a big mistake cause it's clear to me at least that he was the one that made HTTYD1 great), cause Dean "just doing his job" is the job he TOOK. and THAT'S the problem for me.

I've kept a journal since 1995, and I've been using composition books exclusively for more than twenty years because I can decorate the cover.

In 2023 I had a big downturn in my health where I became housebound, and as a result wasn't really journaling as much, because how often can you write, "I feel like shit, everything hurts, I can't sleep and I want to die"? And coincidentally, I didn't really like the cover I made for the journal I was using, which really only added to not wanting to write in it.

But I finally filled it up and started a new one earlier this year, which meant I had a new cover to decorate. This time I consciously tried for something more cheerful and with brighter colors. And I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Honestly, my health had only gotten worse -- I'm currently mostly bedbound except for meals and bathroom visits, and struggling a lot after a maybe-virus in early November. But I am trying to hang on, and trying to be optimistic.
