More than anything, I go absolutely nuts for little actions like this where Asterix and Obelix are subtly comforting each other and cheering each other up after something traumatic. It’s like crack to me.

I thought Asterix had a rough go of it in The Mansions of The Gods until I sat down and watched the Asterix and Obelix vs Ceaser live action movie from 1999

and WOW you guys weren’t kidding…

#Asterix and Obelix #it’s almost comical how much that man was put through #Whenever he’s not being disregarded because he’s the only one in the village who can see through a charlatan #he’s being drugged or chained up or caged or strapped down to a torture device.#When he’s not in any of THOSE situations #he’s in an arena with no magic potion fighting a swarm of snakes + two lions + a swamp full of crocodiles+ a spider pit+ an elephant #AND a giant mutant gladiator who choked him half to death #look you all know I love seeing my favorite little guy put through trauma #but this was over the top compared to the series’ usual fare #even I was yelling at Obelix to do something #it was bonkers
