Snowblowers are the kind of tool that is born out of frustration. When you're out on the sidewalk, shovelling for the third time today, it can seem obvious that the best thing to do is to apply internal combustion power. And I agree: the best thing to do is to apply internal combustion power, in the direction of the airport, where you then use another internal combustion engine to leave this accursed province and go somewhere that's warm all the time and has cars that don't rust.
Barring that, though, snowblowers also seem like a good idea. You start the appliance, push it down the street, and all the snow becomes your neighbour's problem at incredible speeds. There's just one problem: snowblowers are a complex mechanical system that requires maintenance. In fact, their primitive small-enginey ways require more maintenance than a car, which is already well beyond the capability envelope of most so-called adults in the current era. Nobody knows how to rebuild a carburetor anymore, not when they can just spend another $600 to get another snowblower.
This means that in the spring, tons of snowblowers with dicky carbs, broken augers, or seized engines turn up on the curb or for a few pennies. These infernal machines let the owners down when they needed them most, and now the humans are getting their revenge. To me, it is shocking that someone would throw away a perfectly-good appliance just because it doesn't work at all in any way.
I like to scoop them up, give them a little freshening job, and flip them for a profit on the first week of a snowfall, when everyone is already sick of shovelling and wants to just buy something that makes the problem easier. Really, it's a public service. I don't want the sidewalks to be covered in snow because it makes it way harder for me to drive on them.

every once in a while i remember that the outsiders called their jet the pequod and lose my mind. herman melville didn't write moby dick for me to ignore the delicious allusions.
this old Peleg, during the term of his chief-mateship, had built upon her original grotesqueness, and inlaid it, all over, with a quaintness both of material and device, unmatched by anything [...]
the original parts have been replaced and rewritten because the team has a history separate from that of this particular iteration. dick chooses to call them the outsiders... it's both homage and symptom-of-devotion to bruce but most importantly, dick reasons that he's tired of watching people die and get hurt; he wants to be the hunter instead of waiting for the threat to come to him... he wants to be the predator, just like the pequod has been hunting whales all these years.
But to all these her old antiquities, were added new and marvellous features, pertaining to the wild business that for more than half a century she had followed.
here's this ship that has sustained years of damage... just like the heart of the outsiders. roy asks dick to join a team he creates for the sole purpose of saving dick from the grief of donna's death and hey, if he can give some rookies a shot at learning how to fight? well, roy harper is in the business of saving. doesn't matter how big the shipwreck, he won't let anyone drown. also, the shift and rex of it all... a part of you that has become his own person... only for the harsh realities of the world to cause suicide-by-absorption. old and new... all of intersecting in something grotesque (shift's grief and heartbreak becomes a part of rex's).
Her ancient decks were worn and wrinkled, like the pilgrim-worshipped flag-stone in Canterbury Cathedral where Becket bled.
where becket bled... where donna died. and to drive it all home, roy has indigo join. she wants to make amends, she doesn't remember how she was directly involved in donna's death. and it blows up in their faces but for a brief period, shift gets to experience genuine happiness with indigo.
“They didn’t tell much of anything about him; only I’ve heard that he’s a good whale-hunter, and a good captain to his crew.” “That’s true, that’s true—yes, both true enough. But you must jump when he gives an order. Step and growl; growl and go—that’s the word with Captain Ahab. But nothing about that thing that happened to him off Cape Horn, long ago, when he lay like dead for three days and nights...”
it's captained by ahab, who's single-minded in his pursuit of moby dick. the ship itself is synonymous with failure... it's covered and furnished with whale teeth and bones; it's an omen of doom. no matter how far dick goes, donna's ghost will stay. he tries to lead the outsiders with no emotionality and it gets people hurt; they emerge with small victories but the bigger picture is always falling short... so much so that they end up having to fake their deaths midway through the comic.
Upon each side of the Pequod’s quarter deck, and pretty close to the mizzen shrouds, there was an auger hole, bored about half an inch or so, into the plank. His bone leg steadied in that hole; one arm elevated, and holding by a shroud...
ahab outfits his ship with holes and machinations for his peg leg... roy outfits the team with contingencies and plans so that he and dick never have to deal with something like teammates dying on their watch again. there's so much more to lose your mind over, especially with queepeg's coffin becoming a symbol of life for ishmael when the pequod eventually sinks... i love a good allegory <3

Tyler awoke to a flurry of notifications and Grits barking at him, poking him with his nose. He unfurled his arms from his chest and grabbed the phone, fumbling to slide the green phone over to answer it.
“Hello?” He rasped as he picked up the call. He could hear distant barking at the other end of the line.
“Tyler where are you? Boone couldn't get you. You weren't picking up.” It was Georgia, and she sounded only slightly panicked.
“Sorry. I pulled over and fell asleep.” He yawned and Grits went to lick the inside of his mouth, but Tyler pushed the dog away gently. “Dude gross, you lick your own ass...I love you buddy, but come on.”
“He probably says the same about you...I've seen the human lick the other human between her legs.” Georgia had a short chuckle and then stopped. “Did you have the augers down?”
“Yeah, yeah. Fuck. I'm sorry. Holy shit you called me four times? I'm so sorry, Gee. I was just tired from drivin’ all night. Thought I texted Booney but it didn't go through. I'll call him in a few. Are you doin’ okay? How's Jaycen? How're the twins?” Tyler's apology and questions came rapid fire, his thoughts racing as he tried to figure out where he was again. Somewhere around Ravenden, Arkansas, he remembered.
“Jaycen is asleep, still. I went out to feed.” She murmured as he could hear grain whooshing out of buckets quickly.
“You shouldn't be doin' that. Where's Dustin?” Tyler's tone grew stern and before he could argue more, she cut him off.
“He's helpin’ me. I'm just dumping grain. Still under my liftin’ limit. Have some early lessons, then I'll rest. Pancake and Waffles are keepin’ a close eye on me too.” She said, as Twist reached over the stall door and nudged her softly.
“As long as you're careful darlin’.” Tyler said, adjusting in his seat. He stretched his legs, realizing he'd kicked his boots off. He'd drive without them for now to meet Boone.
“I am. I promise. And the twins are fine. All quiet for now.” Georgia said, running a hand over her fast growing belly. She smiled. “I already miss you.”
“God, I miss you too, Gee.”
🌪️🛻🌪️
Georgia sat atop Rascal, glancing down at her belly. She patted the gelding on his neck, thankful for Tyler’s huge rope saddle. It was the only thing she fit comfortably in without it pressing on her stomach, which would effectively press on her bladder.
“The two of you are killin’ me with the pee breaks.” She joked, running her fingers over her stomach, Rascal pricking his ears back and forth. She draped the reins over his neck and the two blue heelers raised their heads from their spot in the middle of the ring. Dustin was just in the barn and Ophelia and Lennon had come to ride, taking Frog and Kylo out for a well deserved ride around the property. Georgia glanced out toward the back forty, rubbing Rascal on his withers as she spoke softly to him. “I want to go visit Wilene...I know we shouldn’t though. I just want Ty home...”
She felt tears well in her eyes and she dropped her head, blinking them away as she let Rascal’s rhythmic, swinging walk sooth her sore muscles. She always felt better after she rode, even if it was only for a few minutes. Sitting in the saddle temporarily dulled the ache in her bones, and the one in her heart, missing her husband.
Her husband. She still couldn’t believe that some days. After everything she’d put him through, and everything he went through with his injury, she still couldn’t believe that he’d take her back. It wasn’t just that though. Tyler had taken her back so willingly because there had never been anyone else for him. There would never be. Somehow from the day they met, Tyler had known Georgia was his. He couldn’t place a finger on it, but he just knew. In his heart, in his mind, in every fiber of his being, Georgia was and would always be his, and his alone.
She rubbed along Rascal’s neck, under his mane and he shook it out after, making Georgia laugh. She surveyed the open expanse of the property, remembering all the times, in the short span that they were together before, that she and Tyler had been there. Her mother had been so open to Tyler being there, so willing and okay with letting him into their life. Maybe Eleanor knew that one day, Tyler would marry her daughter, and she had been giving him every chance to prove himself. She steered the gelding toward the open gate, making a kissing sound to call the two cattle dogs. They came bounding toward Rascal, but slowed up, careful to not scare him, even though he was pretty damn bombproof.
She looped the reins and guided him down the path toward the back of the property. She wanted to see Wilene’s grave, even though she shouldn’t. She let Dustin know where she was headed with a text, and headed off, both dogs flanking her.
The sun was shining and it was fairly warm out, but Georgia still wore Tyler’s ratty old sweatshirt, the one she’d kept all those years. She remembered when he first gave it to her, when she lost it the first time, he found it again, and then when she threw it in the back of her truck, leaving it to settle in a ball until she’d cleaned it out for Kasey and Cory to join her. The sweatshirt was old, grey, and the fabric had thinned after many washes and wears, but it was comfortable to Georgia. It still faintly smelled like him all these years down the line. Tyler had sweat in it, left it to marinate and soak his scent deep into the fibers. He’d even bled in it, a long line of red down the right arm, now stained faintly brown. That old sweatshirt was the only piece of Tyler that she had at the moment and it gave Georgia peace, knowing that while he had to be out there for the channel, he would always and forever, come back home to her. But then she paused, her thinking askew. It wasn’t the only piece she had of him. There were three of those, one currently sleeping sound as could be in his crib in the house, and the other two, still growing, and growing rapidly every single day.
When Georgia and the dogs arrived at Wilene’s burial site, she sat for a moment, relaxing in the saddle. The dog’s flanked Rascal, quietly laying at his feet. Rascal swished his tail and cocked a hip. She remembered all the good times she had with the mare. And she remembered what Tyler had to do for the mare, in her moment of need. Tyler did it for not only the mare, but for Georgia too. He did it so she wouldn’t have to carry that around with her.
Tyler did things for her that she could never ask for, but he did them without question. Tyler permeated every piece of her life and she was ever thankful for that. She didn’t know who or what she would be without him. Even though he wasn’t there, she could feel him. She could feel him in the gentle breeze that was beginning to pick up with the storm rolling in from the east. She could feel him in the rustle of the leaves and the softness of Rascal’s coat. She could almost feel his arms around her and when she closed her eyes she could see him, the soft sage green staring down at her with reverence, with steadiness, with admiration. She could feel his love all around her and it was as warm as the summer sun, and as comfortable as the roaring fire in the winter.
She missed him fiercely, but she knew he would be back in no time. He may be out of her arms for a short time, but he was never, never out of her heart.
🌪️🛻🌪️
Tyler gazed up at the mesocyclone that was forming in the field just south of their position. He hung his arm out the window of his truck, Grits resting his chin on that arm. The distant sound of thunder rumbling unsettled the brave dog, only for a moment. The lightning flashes were bright, even in the afternoon light. Not only were they watching this system, but he was keeping a close eye on a system barreling through at home in Stillwater. There was always the possibility of a tornado and that made Tyler’s heart skip and jump with worry for Georgia. He knew that she knew exactly what to do, and he knew she would get to the storm shelter if needed, but he was still concerned. Because he wasn’t there.
Anxiety bubbled up in Tyler’s chest the more he thought about it, and Boone could tell his friend was in emotional turmoil. He stepped out of the truck, his hands meeting his hips. Grits stayed on the driver’s side, sitting quietly on the seat, waiting for Tyler to give him the okay to get out. He wasn’t going to because they were near a highway and it was too busy with people speeding by. Tyler scratched his beard nervously and Boone watched for a moment more before deciding to say something.
“Hey, if you need to call her, then call her. It’s only gonna make you feel worse if you don’t.” Boone said, clapping a hand on Tyler’s shoulder. He nodded and slid back into the truck and pressed himself back against the seat.
He pressed the phone button and selected ‘Georgia Peach 🍑’ and pushed call. It rang a few times before he heard her pick up.
“Hi Arkansas, what’s up?” She asked and Tyler’s heart immediately slowed and filled with warmth. He breathed a sigh of relief.
“Just seein’ what the weather is like down there?” He asked, trying to not sound panicky but Georgia could pick it out of his voice immediately.
“We’re okay. Dustin helped me get the horses locked in. Lightnin’ is pretty bad and they said there may have been slight rotation just north of us, but it's movin’ quick. The thunder woke Jaycen up. He’s been cryin’ on and off, but we’re okay. I know he’s just scared.”
“Are you scared? Do I need to...”
“No. You don’t need to come home. I’m okay, Tyler. Let me put you on speaker. I think it’ll help Jaycen feel better. Say hi.” Georgia said, Tyler noticing that her voice was in fact, steady. He couldn't believe how naturally she'd stepped into being a mother. He couldn't wait until these kids were grown.
“Hey Jaycen, buddy. Daddy’s gonna be home soon, okay? Just got some storms to chase and then I’ll be home.” Tyler said through the line, and Georgia almost felt like it was meant for her too. She knew he’d be home in less than a week, but the worry she had for him didn’t lessen any. She felt Jaycen stop squirming though as soon as he heard Tyler’s voice.
🌪️🛻🌪️
(Flash FORWARD, Jaycen’s 13th birthday)
Tyler ruffled his son’s hair as he walked past him in the garage. Jaycen reached up and swatted at his father’s hand, missing by inches. He was almost Tyler’s height. The top of his head reached Tyler’s shoulders and the boy was lanky as sin, but could still wrestle Tyler to the ground, and he’d even taken a crack at his Uncle Jake once or twice, but that ended swiftly in defeat.
“Your uncle was supposed to be here by now. We might have to leave without him.” Tyler said, fixing the mirrors on the truck, and glancing at Jaycen who had knelt down to grab the bag of tools that they had been using.
“No! What the fuck! We can’t go without Uncle Jake!” Jaycen huffed in frustration and Tyler whipped around.
“HEY!” Tyler boomed, making Jaycen flinch. He knew immediately what he had done and he apologized.
“Sorry.” Jaycen shrunk back slightly. Tyler had never laid a hand on any of his children, but the sternness in his voice was enough to make them all rethink a bad decision, no matter how small. Swearing was a big no, especially around the house, and until they were all older. Tyler didn’t want them getting in trouble at school for that.
“I swear to God, boy. If I didn’t love you so damn much, I’d wring yur neck.” Tyler gritted through his teeth, and jokingly grabbed Jaycen by his shoulders and shook him like he’d done a hundred times before, making the teenager laugh. Tyler pulled him into a hug then and whispered to him. “Happy birthday, bud.”
“Thanks, Pops. Uh, are we bringing Grits too?” Jaycen asked, as they packed up the rest of what they needed in the truck, including Grits’ dog bed, which Tyler placed in the backseat. The dog ambled in, his muzzle going white from old age. He was a ripe thirteen now, but could still get around pretty good. He just needed some help in and out of the truck, which Tyler was happy to assist.
“Course we are. That dog will go on chases ‘til the day he dies.” Tyler mused, picking the red dog up and placing him in the backseat. Tyler motioned for Jaycen to get in the passenger side. He went to climb in the back and Tyler stopped him.
“It’s your birthday. You’re ridin’ in the front with me.” Tyler said, as he climbed into the driver’s side. Jaycen’s face lit up with excitement and the boy stumbled as he hopped into the passenger side. Tyler roared with laughter and Grits barked excitedly from his comfortable spot as Jaycen sheepishly settled into the seat. He glanced over at his father, who was doubled over, and it made him break out into a fit of laughter too. As they calmed down, they saw Jake’s rental truck coming down the driveway. Tyler started Ole Red, pressing on the gas and letting it roll out of the garage. He let it rumble right to the front bumper of Jake’s truck, only inches away, just as he was stepping down out of it.
“Hey, watch that shit! It’s not mine!” Jake yelled, running around the back of the truck as Tyler put his in park. Even though they were almost in their forties, they still acted like they were twenty with nothing to lose and not a worry in the world. Jake grabbed Tyler’s collar through the window, tugging playfully. “Gimme a kiss bro!”
“On the lips? I can’t, I’m married.” Tyler grabbed Jake’s forearm, pressed a kiss to his other hand and then smacked Jake’s cheek lightly. His son, Theo, had exited the vehicle moments after the exchange and ran to the passenger side, reaching in to fist bump Jaycen. The two boys did their signature handshake, a fist bump, the Tornado Wrangler finger twirl, and then they grabbed each other’s forearms. Theo was similar in build, but a little thicker, just like his father. He, unlike Jaycen, had a clean hair cut, a dark brown version of his Jake’s. Theo was also like Jake, in that he was an absolute hellion.
“Aright, we gotta go! Booney just texted me, we got a tornado to catch!” Tyler patted Jake on the shoulder before he hopped down. He climbed into the backseat after Theo, who sat next to Grits. The red dog sat up and put his paw on Theo’s lap, asking for scratches, to which Theo obliged. The boys waved to Sam and Georgia, who had settled on the porch. The other kids were all inside with Kenny and Jeanie getting the house ready for when the boys came home.
Tyler pushed the truck hard down the highway, getting updates from Boone on the path of the storm. It was just north of Stillwater, perfect placement for a birthday chase. If this went well, Tyler wanted to do this for each kid as they reached their thirteenth birthday, if they wanted to go on a chase. He knew Janie might be the only one who wouldn’t be interested, but they had something special for her planned anyway.
Tyler didn’t want to stop the truck for pictures as they got closer, only because the data suggested that the tornado that was inside the rain curtain that they were about to hit was not going to last long. Boone continued to text him updates from the other side of the storm cell, letting him know the rain that it was wrapped in was dissipating the closer they drove to the front of it.
And just as Ole Red broke free of the soaking rain, everyone inside glanced over to their left of the road they were on.
“You ready?” Tyler asked, glancing at his son. Jaycen nodded, leaning over the center console as Tyler began to let up on the gas. Jaycen’s eyes went wide as he watched the funnel begin to lower from the sky above and the wind roared around them.
“Harnesses on, boys!”

Aethers Twisters Rambles
Me overanalysing Twisters characters taken from my captions on Instagram
Tyler Owens, Kate Carter and Javi Rivera
⚠️👇Spoilers below 👇 ⚠️
Tyler Owens:
So Tyler wears red a TON but the one time he's wearing a different color is with Kate, when he comes to check up on her he's wearing her color a brown button up over his white shirt. And after upsetting Kate he takes it off, almost like he thought he ruined their connection when he was trying to see through her eyes.
Another time though is after he hears about Kates friends passing and Cathy tells him all about how Kate jumped out of the tub and saw her in a wheat field, which I think is Kates color, the color of wheat. And when they go to chase a tornado right after reconnecting he's wearing an orangey top, he's trying to chase more like her, more calm more her speed to respark her passion as he said he "has to try that out" like he said to Cathy when she was telling the story. Usually he'd go in yelling all excited but he instead takes the time (while driving into the tornado HAHA) to explain to kate why his truck and them will be safe driving into the EF1 explaining the extra weight, when he deploys the augers, etc.
More things I've noticed is the very very subtle acting that Glen gives Tyler that REALLY stand out to me. When he talks about loving something so much you spend your whole life trying to understand it he looks to Kate for only a moment, he's not talking about tornados. Another moment I LOVE is when Kate is trying to trick him and explain that the one cell won't produce a tornado. You can see in his expressions how he already knows and can tell which storm is going to produce, he's trying to figure out if Kate is being honestly and just got her readings off or not. But it's only confirmed by Storm Par heading to the storm she said wouldn't produce that she knows.
Javier Rivera:
Color wise his white shirt is a warm white unlike Scotts cool toned white shirt which I think shows that he's still a good person and hasn't grown cold like Scott has.
Another thing I love about Javi is he clearly has a crush on Kate the whole movie but never tries to go for it and when she chooses Tyler over Javi, Javi remains her friend. Most stories will make the guy bitter but he fully encourages Tyler at the end to make his move on Kate. I love that he cares about Kate so much as a friend.
Kate Carter:
I noticed Kates colors she wears changes around a bit, at the start she's wearing bright yellow but when her cardigan got soaked during the tornado it almost became a brown/tan color. Throughout the film after that she's seen wearing lots of muted brown colors, like a visual note of how the tornado that her friends passed in still clings to her like her wet cardigan, it's only after she meets and Tyler reaches out to her does she start wearing his color, Red. Tyler also happens to adopt a brighter version of her color for a few scenes which was orange.
Another thing is her hair, it changes in scenes depending on the feeling of the scene or how she is feeling.
Update: Might be crazy but I think Kate's color is a representation of the wheat fields of Oklahoma! There is a story Cathy, Kate's mama, tells Tyler about her running out the house mid bath and finding her staring up at the clouds. Kate wears her home on her until she starts adopting Tyler's color when she starts to refind her love for storms, she's seeing the tornados how he sees them, putting herself in his boots/color so to say. The end scene her pants are brown/gold and her top is red, it's her finding her roots again, resparked by Tyler.
Another thing is once she goes home to her mom she wears green, like a young wheat plant growing or possibly resprouting. Wheat can get trampled or broken, in this case Javi hurt her, but she was regrowing once she got home to her mom.

Your animated and cyberverse crossover is so incredibly real for that. I love your writings about Hot Rod and his interactions between the crew and Dead End.
I would love to see what's happening on Dead End's side of things.
Maybe when he's bored waiting for Hot Rod, he came across illegal racing and just joins for the heck of it.
Or imagine he came across Swindle that maybe back in his universe, he knew the guy and would hate to interact with him but he needs resources to get by so he makes dealings with him. In Swindle's view, as soon as he knows his name, maybe he apparently heard Dead End as part of the Decepticon's Stunt Actors along with the rest of the Stunticons and probably thinks he's a big fan that he named himself after him. In Dead End's case, reading out that apparently he lost his family and imagining that they're alive in this universe with their own Dead End becomes more sullen with that fact.
Or maybe even the rest of the Decepticons! Like meeting Lugnut imagining he's like Clobber only to have his expectations flipped because of his blind loyalty of Megatron. He doesn't really join in the fights because he doesn't even vibe with the other Decepticons and considering this isn't his universe.
And finally him meeting the repair bridge crew when he and Hot Rod eventually smooth things out between them. Not sure what their interactions would be like but it's fun to imagine.
GAHH!!! I love that you love it <3
I love the thoughts on what you think Deadend doing, I do have few thoughts on what Deadend does on his own and Deadend would so not vibe with them T-T.
I like to think that the first con he comes by is Blitzwing, I think it’s while he’s stealing stuff and he has something Megatron wants, maybe Deadend and Hot Rod crush in after season 2 so let’s say Deadend has a All-Spark shard, and Blitzwing is about to blast him until he transforms and see the decepticon symbol. So Blitzwing would think he’s bring it to Megatron and so he tells Deadend that he knows where Megatron is and to follow him. Deadend is a little taken aback from the sudden switch (I mean literally, he face switches lol) and he was about to fallow, just so he can see how the cons are in this universe, only for Blitzwing to fly off without him. And he’s just standing there, and then dips to his and Hot Rod’s hide out. Blitzwing, not realizing Deadend is does not fly, flys to the con mine only to realize Deadend isn’t there. He gets upset and thinks Deadend is keeping the shard himself (which he kinda is) and tells Megatron of the lost shard and that a random con ran off with it.
Not the best introduction, and when Blitzwing meets Deadend again while out in the forest. Lugnut is with him this time so when Deadend spots Lugnut he immediately says “Clobber?” A little hope lights up in him, thinking how maybe he could be friends with this universe Clobber and maybe have someone else to hang with other than Hot Rod. Lugnut, obviously not named Clobber, corrects Deadend on his name and then yells at him about being a traitor to Megatron and all that jazz, and Deadend hopes die right then and there. Deadend augers back on how he has a ground alt-mode and was unable to follow Blitzwing. Blitzwing, doesn’t apologize and just brush pass that, ask where the shard is so they all could go to the con hide out and bring it to Megatron.
Deadend decides that he will not hand over the shard because 1) he doesn’t have it and does not want to give out his and Rod’s base and 2) he is not losing the thing that could potentially get him and Hot Rod back to their old crew. So he drives off and says they can’t have it, of course the others give a chase. Deadend drives into the city to lose them, which he does thanks to the Autobots and Hot Rod. Once Hot Rod see Deadend is the one being chase he immediately pulls out his gun to who ever is closest to Deadend, which would be Lugnut. Hot Rod would be stunned at seeing who he shot but he can’t dwell on that while Deadend has another jet after him so he takes another shot. And then he drives off himself before the cons could enact their revenge, now busy with the Autobot crew.
The two end up in their hide out and Deadend explains what happened and who this universe Clobber is. So Deadend kinda has a bad rep on the con’s side, not even knowing his name they call him “red car”, so Deadend isn’t really hanging with the cons. So he spends a whole week in the hide out, Hot Rod stays with him throughout that week. Those two definitely have attachment issues, I mean who wouldn’t? Especially after what they went through ToT
I think he will be exploring the city and of course going races when he feels like it. Maybe going into some races to win whatever prize they got going on and drive off without a interview. Think he’ll be called ghost car by street races that see him around.
Just thought of this omg, it would be so cool if he found Soundwave when he’s exploring the sewers and gets him back up and take him to the hide out to help him and what not. Gahh :(( Soundwave in tfa is basically, not basically, IS a sparkling so Deadend helps Soundwave with his stolen items and just takes him in basically. He hears Soundwave out and what happened to him, so then Deadend realizes that this universe Soundwave is a sparkling left on his own and was beaten up by the Autobot crew. So of course Deadend gotta tell Soundwave he lives with a Autobot, of course Soundwave is on guard and Deadend tries to reassure him that Hot Rod isn’t like the other bots he met.
At least tfa Soundwave doesn’t look like the Soundwave they know of so it’s a little less hurtful seeing him. Everything around them reminds them of home or their friends :((. I think tfa Soundwave would not leave from behind or the side of Deadend when every Hot Rod is near.Deadend is trustworthy to him (even if he technically is against his creator) while Hot Rod has to earn his respect which is far, ya know.
Gosh now am think of the two of them taking care of tfa Soundwave while trying to contact to their team.
Also! Like it to be know am only in season 2 the episode where the meet swindle! I know Soundwave comes up again later but there’s nothing wrong with disrupting the timelineee.

"Why do Britain’s guitar heroes become household names – yet its piano and organ players don’t? Let’s end this injustice, writes Elton John, as he pays tribute to all those thrilling showmen eternally confined to the wings" "I realised incredible keyboard players were everywhere: not just Zoot Money but Georgie Fame, Brian Auger, Graham Bond, Rod Argent. They were all doing something different with the keyboards; each of them had their own personality. "
"Rod Argent was the engine room of the Zombies. He wrote She’s Not There and his playing takes it to another level. It’s very English-sounding, very reserved and melancholy, then out of nowhere he plays this incredible solo that’s soulful but slightly classically influenced. It both fits the song perfectly and takes it somewhere else." "We think of heavy rock as a guitarist’s art, but in Deep Purple, Jon Lord was experimenting with distortion to give the organ a sound as hard-driving as the guitars. So did Rod Argent when the Zombies broke up and he started Argent."

16 for Corin, 19 for Miro and 27 for Loren! :D
Luxx! 👋🏽
Corin Brooks
16. What is their best virtue?
Corin's greatest virtue, in my opinion, is his lack of ego. This sounds absurd, I'm sure, for anyone who knows anything about Corin, but it's true. I know currently he seems a heartless murderer full of arrogance, but that is primarily armor. He doesn't think highly of his capabilities, he just knows the extent of them. He's willing to put aside his grief and anger for a cause or calling. He can take a step back and pack up his emotions and look at things selflessly. It was a boon back in his Sidestep days. Now it just makes him a terrifyingly efficient villain.
Miro de la Vega
19. What scarred them the most about the heartbreak incident?
How vastly unprepared they were. Miro had thought he and the Rangers were the best of the best. They'd face annihilation and always come out on top. He started to believe they were invincible. And then Heartbreak tore through them like so much paper. It took Anathema, it nearly took Steel, it took him, too. It destroyed his world, knowing they were stupid enough to think themselves unbeatable. He won't make that mistake again. He will and die keeping anyone from making that mistake again.
Loren Auger
27. What qualities might someone appreciate about them? What would drive someone away?
Loren is a very kind and playful individual. Xe can always look on the positive side of things and that makes xir very easy to get along with and pleasant to be around. However, I do think that's the same thing that would drive someone away. Xe uses it as a shield and avoids darker, more serious conversation. Avoidance that uses endless positivity as a bludgeon, no matter the gravity of the situation, can push away even the most steadfast allies and friends.

📸 Eurosport LV
Meanwhile, in Roland Garros...
The Men's Singles final of the tennis field in the Summer Olympics featured the top seeds, as first seed Novak Djokovic, who defeated eleventh seed and eventual bronze medalist Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals, took on second seed Carlos Alcaraz, who straightforwardly defeated thirteenth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-1, 6-1 to make it to the finals in his Olympic debut. This match delivered all the point construction with all to play for: a milestone was on the line for both players with either of them winning the gold medal for the first time, with the first seed after so long.
Even though it might have seemed that Novak would smoothly hold his serves to 1-0, C. Alcaraz still fumbled one of his game points through a working volley. Somehow, a forehand error from the second seed secured the former's earliest break point, which was fumbled due to the first seed's failed volley. By then, C. Alcaraz held his serves to 1-1, but a classic failed Djokosmash allowed the former to lead by 2 points, but Novak still held his serves to 2-1.
It took two games later before C. Alcaraz created another break point thanks to his forehand winner (to *2-2 30-40), but an unreturned serve from Novak fumbled the second seed's second break point. Somehow, C. Alcaraz also had his third break point made after a forehand-to-forehand exchange led to Novak's unforced error, but it was also neutralized with an unreturned serve before the Serb massively held his serves to 3-2.
Several games later, the Spanish second seed held his serves smoothly to 4-4, but a drive volley error from Novak created C. Alcaraz's break point, which was also continued with a backhand pass several moments later. This game turned out to be crucial as C. Alcaraz also created 2 additional break points, including a successful drop shot and a working backhand down-the-line winner (after the previously failed one caused another deuce), but Novak's volleying instincts allowed him to neuter them once again before he also held to 5-4 thanks to his unreturned serves. This showed how this match could still go either way, especially considering the high-quality shot-making both players tried to do.
C. Alcaraz then started the eleventh game through a drop shot, but his lob that went too far secured Novak's service game hold to 6-5. Even though the former started his service game by trailing a point, he minimized the gap with an instinctive volley finish before facing a set point (*6-5 30-40) thanks to his forehand pass that got the Spaniard run over. However, the set point was saved thanks to the latter's serve+1 (with a forehand finish). After he held his serves to 6-6, the tie-breaker became inevitable, where Novak's forehand return ace secured his mini-break to 4-3 before he held to 5-3. It took two more points before another intuitive volley allowed him to take the first set 7-6(3), making Novak technically one set away from the gold medal.

Orbital Motor Features A Comprehensive Guide
In the world of hydraulic systems, orbital motors stand out as a highly efficient and versatile solution for a wide range of applications. These motors are particularly valued in industrial, agricultural, and mobile machinery for their compact design, durability, and torque capabilities. This article explores the essential features of orbital motors, detailing their structure, operation, advantages, and common uses to provide a full understanding of why they are so widely used in modern engineering.
Tumblr media
What Is an Orbital Motor?
An orbital motor, also known as a gerotor motor or low-speed high-torque (LSHT) motor, is a type of hydraulic motor that converts hydraulic energy into mechanical motion. The term "orbital" refers to the movement of the internal components, which rotate in an Orbital Motor Features path rather than around a central axis. These motors are powered by pressurized hydraulic fluid and are especially well-suited for tasks that require high torque at low speeds.
Basic Working Principle
Orbital motors use an internal gear mechanism called a gerotor, which consists of an inner gear (rotor) and an outer gear (stator) with one more tooth than the rotor. The hydraulic fluid enters the motor and causes the rotor to rotate within the stator. As the rotor moves in an orbital motion, it turns the output shaft. This process generates continuous rotational motion and torque.
Key Features of Orbital Motors
Orbital motors are known for a specific set of features that make them ideal for demanding applications. Here’s a detailed look at the most significant ones:
High Torque at Low Speed
One of the most notable features of orbital motors is their ability to produce high torque at relatively low rotational speeds. This makes them ideal for applications where power is needed more than speed, such as driving conveyor belts, augers, winches, and wheel drives.
Compact and Lightweight Design
Orbital motors are relatively compact compared to other hydraulic motor types with similar power output. Their space-saving design allows them to be used in equipment where installation space is limited, such as in agricultural machinery or skid-steer loaders.
Robust Construction and Durability
Designed to operate in harsh environments, these motors are built with robust materials and simple mechanical systems. This leads to reduced maintenance needs, longer service life, and excellent resistance to contamination and wear.
Wide Range of Displacements
Orbital motors are available in a variety of displacement sizes, typically ranging from small units (8 cc/rev) to large motors (up to 800 cc/rev). This flexibility allows them to cater to diverse requirements regarding speed and torque.
Smooth Running and Low Noise
The orbital design offers smooth and stable operation, even at low speeds. Additionally, the internal components are designed to minimize vibration and noise, which is critical in environments where noise reduction is necessary.
Reversible Operation
Most orbital motors can run in both forward and reverse directions, which is a crucial feature for applications like hydraulic winches or drive systems where directional change is often needed.
Integrated Valve Systems
Many Orbital Motor Features come with integrated valve systems, such as check valves, anti-cavitation valves, or pressure relief valves. These enhance safety and efficiency, reduce the number of external components needed, and improve installation convenience.
High Efficiency
Orbital motors typically have high volumetric and mechanical efficiency, meaning they convert a significant portion of hydraulic energy into mechanical output with minimal losses. This ensures optimal performance and lower operational costs.
Types of Orbital Motors
There are different types of orbital motors based on construction and functionality. The most common include:
Spool Valve Motors – These use a spool to direct fluid and are cost-effective for light to medium-duty tasks.
Disc Valve Motors – Known for high pressure and heavy-duty applications, offering superior efficiency and load capacity.
Roller Stator Motors – They incorporate rollers between the rotor and stator, reducing friction and improving durability.
Each type has its own set of advantages and is chosen based on the specific requirements of the application.
Important Considerations for Use
While orbital motors offer many benefits, there are some important considerations to ensure they perform optimally:
Proper Sizing: Matching the displacement to the application ensures the right speed and torque output.
Hydraulic Fluid Quality: Clean and appropriate fluid extends motor life and maintains efficiency.
Cooling and Filtration: To avoid overheating and wear, appropriate filtration systems should be in place.
Correct Mounting: Misalignment can cause excessive wear or failure.
Conclusion
Orbital motors are a cornerstone of many hydraulic systems due to their impressive torque output, compact design, and reliability. Whether in agriculture, construction, industry, or marine environments, they provide a powerful and efficient solution for rotational motion tasks. With a solid understanding of their features—including high torque at low speed, reversible operation, integrated valves, and rugged construction—engineers and technicians can make informed decisions about selecting and using orbital motors effectively. Their versatility and durability ensure they remain a key component in modern machinery for years to come.
