This is fucking ridiculous. Btw the baby is okay, of course they broke the window glass.
My mom has a Volkswagen and when her key fob died and she couldn’t get in it, she had to call AAA. There was a keyhole on the car, but it was hidden and my mom had no idea.
Now, electric cars, especially Teslas, are dying in extreme heat and trapping people inside. Apparently Teslas Only have a manual release inside the car, that many people don’t know about and is utterly useless if a baby is trapped inside the car! It’s absurd.
There needs to be regulations against this, not having a way to use a fucking physical key to open a door is a potential death trap. And if you’re going to hide the keyhole and levers, (which btw why??) there should be a huge fucking instruction on how to use before they can even take the car off the lot.
So please, if you own an electric car please be aware of this problem and learn how to open your car without electricity. And if it can’t, like the Tesla from the outside, make sure you have a window breaking utensil. (Which btw, you should have anyway)

EA is releasing a new game update for��The Sims 4 ahead of the release of the two upcoming kits, Urban Homage and Party Essentials.

It's confusing to me to hear how people talk about Firefox sometimes, when like…
idk it's not wrong to say that most browsers on the market are fundamentally compromised by their dependence on Google, who maintains much of the browser's underlying code?
But please understand that Firefox is also fundamentally compromised by their dependence on Google, who pays the largest share of Mozilla's annual revenue 🙃💸
And to be frank, Mozilla is a pretty typical large-nonprofit, frequently making low-key scummy decisions? I would actually expect Mozilla to cave to Google before e.g. Vivaldi, who are for-profit but whose market incentives make them a bit more likely to take an anti-Google anti-tracking stance rn imo, even if it meant hacking Chromium to do it (though I wouldn't trust Vivaldi on that for more than 1–2 years).
I could talk a bit about what I recommend right now? but mostly I think what I want to add to the conversation is: please don't treat Mozilla as a hero in the darkness, they are a very typical capitalist nonprofit coasting on their reputation, and they need their feet held to the fire as much as anyone else in order to do the right thing.
If you're unusually serious about guarding your data against scummy browser vendors, then you've gotta stay apprised of the news about what nasty features the browsers actually do or don't add… and please don't give any of them credit in advance.
But for most people, the big browsers are really all pretty similar right now, and the most important threat to you is probably third-party actors exploiting zero-day browser vulnerabilities, so the single best thing you can do for your data security is honestly to stay auto-updated (and I know that's kinda ironic but it's the truth right now).
But Google does have a monopoly position that could enable them to compromise almost everything on the market soon—including Firefox!—and the answer to that has to be a combination of public outcry against the toxic features specifically (no heroes allowed!!), and political pressure toward regulation.
P.S. My personal recommendations, subject to change depending on whatever they do next, are: Safari on Apple devices, plain Chromium on Linux, and a very tentative rec for either Firefox or Vivaldi on Windows (but tbh I think Windows only has risky options right now and that's just that)

Yes, the Cybertruck is PSYCHOTICALLY INSANELY DANGEROUS TO ANYONE IN IT AND ANYONE ON THE ROAD WITH IT.
It not only has no crumple zones, which is already super duper deadly, but it is made of material with no shock absorption itself. Virtually ALL of the force of ANY impact will be transferred to any body inside it. Which doesn't mean a high speed accident will kill you, it means a 30 mile an hour bump could at least paralyze you. It is the single most recklessly dangerous tech to ever come out of the US auto industry and they kept leaded gas around for decades knowing it caused cancer just because it fucked up your engine so it'd need more work.
It is so heavy it will also kill anyone you hit. Which if your a Musk fibro who'd buy this piece of shit, I assume you don't actually care how many other people you kill to make you seem like your dick might be adequate, but regulators absolutely should.
And for a fun added bonus to the many ways this thing is a goddamn death trap, the glass has been upgraded since he embarrassed himself (and everyone watching secondhand) so it's insanely hard to break. Why does that matter? Because you really, really want the glass in your car to break (safety glass which breaks into cubic shapes rather than shards is standard for 40 years, so no breaking glass is not a serious risk, stopping believing movie writers paid attention in physics class, the ven diagram of fiction writers and physicists is very small). Because it's not at all hard for a dar door frame, even one made of steel to warp just enough to make it impossible to open, especially in a side impact.
How do firefighters get in to get you? The break the goddamn window. Need jaws of life? Needs an opening to widen (you know, like a fucking JAW) and that usually a broken window.
Car catch on fire? Because any car has shit that can catch on fire... how do they get you out fast? Break the fucking window. Unbreakable window? Fuck you're not even gonna need a big fire, a tiny one will kill you from smoke.
Literally everything about this is designed to kill you. Not just could kill, but actively chosen that way.
(Fun fact, Teslas used to be super safe because Tesla engineers were really great and Musk never engineered a fucking thing, he bought in to make himself feel like a big boy. Shit like their dangerous self driving and this, which I don't even have words to stress the danger and I read the entire English dictionary 4 times growing up -- I'm gonna have to ask B if he has any in his 703 other languages that adequately describe it... Russian cosmonauts had safer shit than this trying to just reach orbit in the 60s -- all of this is a result of Musk trying and failing to be Steve Jobs, himself not really an engineering guy, but gave direction on what he wanted. The difference is that Musk runs everything like Trump so the great engineers he had left or got fired to be replaced by bootlickers and he's a fucking moron, where Jobs actually hired and retained very good engineers, listened when they said "bad idea bc physics" and he was a solid futurist who also stayed in his lanes of what he knee and was good at -- didn't like him much but I'd give anything for Musk to die in this fucking truck, so it's really no contest. EVERYTHING MUSK TOUCHES DIES AND SO WILL YOU IF YOU BUY THIS TRUCK AND EVEN GET REAR ENDED)
