BCM Cloning Experts Fixing Electrical Issues Efficiently
When it comes to modern automotive systems, one of the most complex and vital components is the Body Control Module (BCM). This essential unit oversees a wide range of electronic functions in vehicles, from power windows and mirrors to interior lighting, remote keyless entry, and even security systems. As vehicles become increasingly reliant on electronic systems, any malfunction within the BCM can lead to frustrating and potentially dangerous issues. That’s where skilled cloning experts come in, offering specialized services to efficiently address electrical problems without the need for costly full replacements. These professionals use advanced diagnostic tools and cloning techniques to transfer data from a faulty module to a new or refurbished one, preserving the vehicle’s original configurations and avoiding compatibility issues.
Cloning a BCM requires not only technical knowledge but also precision and experience. Experts in this field are adept at handling sensitive electronic components and interpreting complex vehicle wiring diagrams. By carefully replicating the original module’s firmware and data, they ensure the new unit functions exactly as the old one did, restoring the vehicle’s full electrical capabilities. This method is particularly beneficial in situations where replacement modules are hard to find or prohibitively expensive. Rather than replacing the entire system or reprogramming everything from scratch, cloning offers a faster and more cost-effective alternative that minimizes downtime and maintains the car’s factory settings.

Electrical problems related to the BCM can manifest in many ways—flickering lights, malfunctioning door locks, unresponsive dashboard displays, or issues starting the engine. Without proper diagnosis, these symptoms can lead to unnecessary part replacements and high repair bills. Cloning experts are trained to identify the root cause of the problem, distinguishing between software corruption and hardware failure. Once diagnosed, they use high-end equipment to perform secure and accurate data transfers, often within hours. Their efficiency not only saves time but also provides peace of mind, knowing that the vehicle’s functions are being restored with the utmost care.
In today’s era of sophisticated electronics, relying on BCM Cloning & Repairs experts for electrical repairs is a smart decision. Their deep understanding of automotive electronics, combined with hands-on experience and cutting-edge tools, allows them to fix complex issues with precision and reliability. By choosing cloning over traditional replacement methods, vehicle owner’s benefit from a more efficient, less invasive, and often more affordable solution to electrical problems.

OBDSTAR DC706 Unbiased Customer Reviews
As we know, OBDSTAR DC706 ECU programmer is designed for vehicle ECM, TCM and body/other system for ECU flasher. It can read ECU info, R/W Eeprom/Dflash/Pflash/MAP, reset ECU (Virgin), calibrate mileage, read IMMO pincode, and recover ECU, etc via OBD and bench. What is the actual use effect? Let’s see the related customer reviews.

Review 1:
Tool arrived. All work fine!!! Cadillac 6L45 TCM clone ok. GM Acdelco E39a clone ok.
Review 2:
GM TCM T87 and T87 you can do it yourself, full reading and writing. That was only available for flex, B-flash. Now i finished it with dc706. Amazing!
Review 3:
The DC706 is a good tool especially for the money. It is a bit clunky to work with the files. Otherwise, it’s a very formidable tool. We use it often on the DPS6 Ford TCMs as it is easy to connect when working mobile.
Review 4:
9GV OBDSTAR reading fine with everything included nothing separate!!! Very good device!
Review 5:
Audi Temic VL381 0AW gearbox clone ok. The dc706 obdstar did it perfectly. Not everything is flex or dim. And not fc200 either.
Review 6:
Fiat IAW 9gv is done, same as IO terminal without opening it. Amazing!
Review 7:
OBDSTAR DC706 is a good tool for PSA whatever.
Review 8:
The first test was a Guzzi miu g4 motorcycle engine control module on bench.
Review 9:
DC706 for the win on 2016 Chevrolet Colorado BCM. D70F3558/24c66.
Review 10:
Tested on DQ250 02E year 2016, two DQ200 2010 and 2012.
All works perfect, highly recommended!
Review 11:
I picked up this tool a few weeks ago and have spent some time testing its capabilities. The DC706 is a tablet based ECM, TCM, and BCM cloning tool, advertised as being able to read and write memory areas (eeprom, D-Flash, P-Flash) of supported control units, as well as some pin code extraction, all through OBD or bench mode (mostly bench).
The tool this most closely resembles is IO Terminal. I am not labeling this as comparison because I have never used IO Terminal, nor do I wish to open a debate on who cracks or pirates who's software, that's above my pay grade. I'll stop short of calling this a review, because I haven't fixed any cars with it yet, I've only tested it on various modules.
I had been considering the purchase of IO Terminal for some time for in house use. As an independent repair facility, where I see the benefit of this type of tool would mostly be on the GM global A stuff, TCM's in particular. As we all know, GM's transmissions are a weak link. One of the running jokes in the shop when a 6L80 equipped GM is towed into the shop… is it here for its 100,000 mile transmission replacement? Thus far we have been able to sell a factory or Jasper remanufactured transmission only requiring SPS2 programming. But as these vehicles age I envision used replacements will become an option for some based upon financial means and vehicle depreciation. Also in today's world of hit and miss module availability, this type of tool can provide another option. Tooling and software from Kess V2, Flex, PCMflash and the like are not financially practical for sporadic in house use, and I'm not likely to market module cloning as a sublet service anytime soon. The cost of IO terminal hardware and the various software packages can add up and has kept me on the fence about purchasing it, unsure of the return on investment.
I saw this dc706 ecu tool from OBDStar and it seemed intriguing. OBDStar makes some immobilizer and odometer correction tools, as well as motorcycle and marine scan tools. This new tool offered from OBDStar and has been on the market for about 6 months.
Checking the module coverage list it was pretty much identical to IO Terminal. The price point was good at about $1,400 for the full software version (ECM, TCM, and Body/other) plus another $100 for their P003 adapter for certain modules. It seems like the subscription fee will be a couple of hundred dollars a year to keep it current. So I decided to roll the dice and give it a try.
The first thing I noticed after activation of the tool was a version update that now includes ZF 8HP TCM's on all makes, including Dodge and GPEC-4 PCM's in boot mode. In addition, I turned the tool on a few days ago to discover another update that amongst other things included GPEC-2, 2A, and 3 PCM's. It's encouraging to see regular updates and expanded coverage.
I gathered a bunch of modules to test: E39A and E92 GM PCM's, 2 FCA RF Hubs, a Ford continental BCM, a GM Bosch BCM, and a GPEC-2 PCM. Guide and pin out diagrams are clear and accurate. Performed all reading and writing on all of these modules easily and successfully. VIN's were visible on eeprom and d-flash sectors, as well as pin codes.
Deciphering some of the verbage while using can be a challenge, but already having Chinese tablet based scan tools from Launch, Autel, and Topdon, I consider Chinenglish a second language. An example of this in photo number 2 while reading a GM Bosch BCM in bench mode, it gave me pause when I first saw it, but I speculate it was telling me not to wake up the BCM with ignition source voltage during read and write operations. I proceeded and successfully read and write the BCM.
No tool like OBDSTAR DC706 ECU tool perfect, I'm sure holes and flaws will be discovered, but at this point my confidence level is pretty high. I just hope it comes through when I need to use it “for real”.
I wanted to share this for those who maybe in a similar situation, it may be worth considering this tool.

Thanks to all customers’ feedback above!

What is ECM Cloning?
Ktag ECU Programming Tool
When an Engine Control Module (ECM) or Body Control Module (BCM) is damaged, most vehicles stop working or don’t perform optimally. The ECM is the engine’s brain; generally, the car engine won’t crank, turn over, or start when critical electronic connections stop functioning. Transmission shifting problems may also occur. The BCM controls the electrical functions in the vehicle, and when the BCM is faulty, gauges, lighting, windows, and wipers may act erratically or not at all. In a modern vehicle many of these components communicate with each other and share information over the cars internal network. This is why, if there is a module failure, many times you cannot replace the defective module with one of the same type that is used but good. The reason is that the data stored in the used module does not match the data stored in the original. The solution is to move the data from the memory of the original module directly to the memory in the used module. Most dealerships only have the ability to program new ECMs and do not offer repairs. Automotive and Commercial Locksmith has the technology to transfer data – memory from a damaged ECM- to a re-manufactured replacement unit saving you money on expensive dealership modules, programming, and labor costs. What is ECM Cloning? ECM cloning is a technical process where existing engine computer information is duplicated onto a replacement ECM. The information, including the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), allows a new computer to replace a damaged or malfunctioning unit. At Automotive and Commercial Locksmith, our highly experienced technicians can use a new or replacement ECM for the cloning process. In most cases, additional on-board programming is not required once a replacement ECM is cloned.

GM scan tool: MDI or Tech 2? original or clone?
Looking for a GM MDI interface or Tech 2 scanner and don’t know which one (original or clone) should you take?
Here you go.
Part 1: GM MDI or Tech 2
Part 2: Tech 2 original or clone?
- How to find the original or fake.
- worth to have a Tech 2 China clone?
Part 3: GM MDI genuine or fake?
- what’s the difference of MDI genuine & clone?
- GM MDI china clone any good?
Part 1: GM MDI or Tech 2
Tech 2 scan tool has become obsolete for shop use as of late. It still has a lot of capability and will do anything you need for the older platforms but it needs the CANdi module to work with any of the new stuff. The MDI is a 1 shot deal for all the newer PCMs and will still work on the older stuff too. I sold my Tech 2 and bought an MDI last year, haven't missed the Tech 2 since. Then again I've got a Genysis scanner I use for all my typical diagnostics & probing.
However, the MDI requires a GM log-in with monthly access to GM's website. That's it's only draw back for the enthusiast who wants a GM caliber scanner. The Tech 2 can be updated within itself and doesn't require the internet, the MDI does.
If you're running a shop, get an MDI. For the garage warrior or enthusiast, get a Tech 2. Just don't fall for these $350 pieces of garbage.
You can say that, Tech2win is a pain the the butt. It never updates security correctly for the 30 day window and that using GM computers and login info. The tech 2 is great for code reading, viewing data. The MDI is pretty much only used for programming but its needs on certain 10+ platforms and all 15+ to view data through GDS. All MDI functions require a GM subscription.
Part 2: Tech 2 original or clone?
First, How to find the original or fake.
It is very simple. The first thing I look, it's the memory card slot, open it up and look at the cover, if you see the stamp of the body exactly original. Next, the original at all wires and Candy use aluminum. As different numbers on the back cover, the photo you will see the difference. Sometimes it comes and all labels need to glue yourself.
Second, worth to have a Tech 2 China clone?
In short, that is a nice piece of equipment to have, very nice!
Aside from working beautifully with OBD2, the tech2 is the scanner for GM OBD1 to use. with the right software (plug in chips like nintendo cartridges) it’ll do some daewoo/suzuki, GM medium duty (meaning bigger than 3500 using non automotive OBD2 standards), and other in the GMdistant family tree too.
In addition to generic codes (P0000-P0999) It’ll do all the proprietary GM codes (P1xxx), actuators, and systems. you can also view fuel trims, emissions readyness (beyond a green LED for all OK) and It’ll talk to ALL the modules rather than just the ECM (and if you get into the $250+scanners, ABS) like BCM, SIR, entertainment, EVERYTHING on a GM. At school I used one with a 91+ cartridge on my 87 S10, so going back further is hit or miss but posible.
To adjust shift points and fuel consumptiona and Speedo, forget it.
The TECH2 can’t do any sort of modding/tuning, only upload GM flashes. At least with legitimate software. I’m sure someone has custom software to do it but there are easier ways nowadays.
Is it worth if you just want to read/clear codes on your own car once in a while, heck no. If you’re doing a lot of work on GMs or want to get a lot more in depth with your car, it’s worth the money. No comment on China knockoff quality, I mean a working tech2, Chinese made or not.

Therefore, it’s easy to find that the GM MDI 2 multiple diagnostic interface only improves in hardware design and running speed.
But the price ($12000) of MDI 2 is 4 or 6 times as MDI 1 ($150-$300).
So, no matter it’s used for DIY fun or professional repair work, a GM MDI clone of high quality is definitely no issues. Note that there are different versions of GM MDI china clone; and the quality may vary coz they are produced in different factory, especially PCB design. And it would result in various prices. But you will get what you pay for.
Second, GM MDI china clone any good?
GM MDI China clone Working well. Tested with GDS2 v.12.

The MDI came ready to use with the software installed. It worked since I already had Tech2Win, GDS2 and GM MDI Manager installed on my laptop. It works extremely well and I have no problems with it. The product image at the time I order showed the cable keeper, A/C 12 volt adapter and multiple diagnostic interface user’s guide CD which is used to install the MDI manager software on your laptop. These items were not included. It also said it was Wifi but did not come with a wireless card but with a wireless interface instead. There are two versions of GM MDI interface on China market, cheaper MDI less than US$180 with only USB connection and the other more expensive with wifi wireless connection.
The product would work excellent if you had the MDI manager software already on your laptop.
My device tested with many cars for 4 months. Device works with GDS2 (Opel). Device works with Tech2Win. (Opel, Hammer)
Device not works with SAAB via Tech2Win.
Tested by my own, works with Saab 9-5, 2003, 3.0 It works with tis2000 and tech2win NAO.
My MDI clone works fine with tech2win and also TIS2000 software. Used it for diags and pcm flashing with no problem (through usb port only, cause wifi is unstable for programming functions).
Added a wireless card to that one too, same flawless performance.. Only issue for me is that they all have the same serial number.. So using 2 of them in the same shop with wireless would be impossible..
compared boards from a genuine to this clone, almost identical.. multiple layer pcbs, same tracers, didn’t see any difference except the board labeling was missing on the clone. Wifi GM mdi good, interface works online. update mdi 100%. offline not that good for new cars.
Nissan Consult III Plus Ver.46.30 works on MDI interface as well (this is not tested by me, your are on your risk).
