Rambling on TLOU S2 (not safe for abby stans):

Against my better judgement, I did watch both the episodes of tlou s2. I know I know, I said I was gonna avoid this season. Then I thought to myself: I already knew everything. Not gonna affect me as badly as the first time. Right...? Right?! But then I heard that Joel let Ellie sleep a little longer, and went to patrol with Dina. These motherfuckers. This is so unfair. My mother does that too. She knows I struggle with bouts of insomnia. She always lets me sleep a little extra. It's just one of the thousand small ways she shows me her love. This was the moment I knew I fucked up. It doesn't help that both Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are great actors. They tag teaming to make me cry my eyes out all over again. On the other hand, I hear this demonic Abby form, going on and on about her villain monologue. And I felt nothing. I looked at the character and I felt nothing. Nothing but annoyance. Idk if it's the writing or the acting but damn...I cannot feel anything for her. Then Ellie entered the room, and her cries of anguish still bring tears to my eyes. Her screams of desperation for Joel to wake up. WAKE UP! And then HE DID!!! He fucking did for a moment, so, you know his last memory is of Ellie begging him to get up for her. And he couldn't do that anymore. He tried tho. Until his last breath he tried. Ellie's voice was so soft too when she realised Joel could hear her... And then Abby stabbed Joel, a final blow.

The thing is Bella Ramsey is such a phenomenal actor. They outshine others for me. Even Joel getting beaten tf up wasn't getting me but the moment Ellie entered the scene and started screaming, I was completely in shambles. Knowing where their character ends up, completely alone, broken...they are gonna rip my heart apart by the end of this saga. It doesn't help that Abby gets the "happier ending" too. (Idk if I can say that but she still got Lev and supposedly found a firefly base, so, yay for them I guess....allegedly allegedly. Idk if this is canon yet). OMG the episodes focusing on her will be unbearable to me. I might skip 'n' watch those parts, or I might give the show a chance. Idk. It still annoys me that the show changed her muscular look completely. Her arms and built were the only things I liked about her tbh. She is supposed to be the new "Joel" from here on now. But I feel like the show is treating her too....delicately. The game did a good job on her, and she is a great character on her own. I still hate her a fucking lot and nothing can make me love her. But damn...she is one of the most interesting characters of tlou games. Even though I don't like her in the game, her journey is very fucking understandable. I might not have any sympathy for her but I do get where she is coming from. She saw her father's brains painting the walls. It would break anybody. Abby treated herself horribly after that day. She made herself into a "weapon", dehumanising herself to face this monster named Joel. For years and years! And then...vengeance did nothing for her. This is why she spares Ellie the second time too. Listening to Lev's advice to show mercy even though Ellie went demon mode on her entire family left. The show's Abby doesn't even feel like a wounded, broken warrior. She feels like a whiny brat. Her stupid monologue to Joel supposed to show how she prepared to fight him one day? Girl, shut up. When he told her to get over it already, even I went 'right?! Like what is this??'. I hope that changes in the upcoming episodes. Otherwise, she is gonna be unbearable. Like COME ON, SHOW! No way this is a character you can fuck up...they writing is already there... don't piss me off...

Other than that, yeah, I think the show is really good!

The way that David was talking to Ellie it seemed like he was trying to make her believe that

‘This is just a one time thing, we were starving I was protecting them that’s all’

Which obviously a big fucking lie

But like having joel in the boat house/ shed thing, he saw three bodies

I feel like this was another way to show instead of tell David’s manipulation and evilness

He’s been doing this, it hasn’t just started. And we as viewers (if we didn’t already know) are kind of finding out how evil he is as joel and Ellie are.

This man has been feeding his followers humans for a while, it wasn’t a one time thing, it wasn’t just to help them, it wasn’t just because that was the only solution

Which obviously this is all revealed very plainly as it unfolds but I just thought it was a really good touch in the showing us that this man is fucked up, and he’s been fucked up he’s not going to change
