The first mario gijinkas I've ever made were of the blue and yellow toad, who I've officially called the Toad Duo!

It was like a handful to call those so I settled with Kiiro and Buru (That was a weeb moment™️ of mine it's too late to change their names since I had them for years) Also I am so nuts about these two I need to draw them more

Setting: Dance club at university — you’re both captains of rival teams.

You and Hoshi weren’t enemies.

But you were rivals.

Dance team captains at the same university.

And every time you locked eyes at a showcase or in the hallway, it felt like a challenge.

Rehearsals were chaos.

One night, after a particularly intense practice, you were both breathless on the floor, sweat dripping, adrenaline high.

“You know,” he said, staring at the ceiling, “I never thought someone could actually make my heart race more than dance does.”

You turned your head to look at him.

He turned too, meeting your eyes.

Smirking, but softer.

“Boom boom.”

The festival night came.

The lights.

The crowd.

The music.

And when the beat dropped, and the two of you hit every move in sync —

close, fast, magnetic —

the crowd went wild.

But you only heard one thing.

Your heartbeat.

After the performance, while everyone was celebrating, Hoshi grabbed your hand and pulled you into the hallway.

No cameras. No stage.

Just you.

And him.

His fingers still wrapped in yours, he whispered:

“Let’s stop pretending this is just rivalry.”

You smiled.

“Then what is it?”

His free hand cupped your cheek.

His thumb brushed your lip.

“Something that makes me feel alive. Every time I see you… boom boom.”

You leaned in, forehead to forehead.

“Then make it official.”

And with that kiss —

the one that left your legs weak and your heart racing —

you both finally admitted what the world had already guessed.

I'm not sure why, but this week's motw is themed after the Dotonbori district in Osaka. The crab is a super famous sign for a restaurant called Kani Doraku

It's huge and it moves!

You can also see the Glico man and the Zuboraya pufferfish lantern on his head, but those are more obvious during the mech fight

There's a couple more, but yeah they're all famous Osaka landmarks

Neon Sign Guruma. Why the crab, who knows. It's very flashy, though.
