Every Wednesday: Patterson Appreciation Day.

This is clearly not the only time Patterson has been the MVP of the team, but this scene is so, so good. Not only she has an absurd amount of knowledge from books to hacking to all things science, but her eloquence and passion here left me speechless. She’s not making the most logical argument, this is a judgement call because she’s so confident in her skills and her team. She wants to both save her family AND have no casualties. 

She doesn’t hesitate, she just goes for what she thinks it’s the right call, even if that means standing up to the FBI Director in front of a bunch of interns and with a lot on the line. She knows when to go on the offensive and when to relent a little, because just telling Weitz he doesn’t know what he’s doing/he’ll get blamed won’t be enough to convince him, and she knows it. 

TL;DR: Patterson is hella smart, awesome and damn that woman has persuasion skills.

I think I fell in love with Jane ever since I watched the pilot episode. Other than the moment in the interrogation room where she demanded to speak with someone in charge after being confused and docile for as long as she could take (and then had that intense connection moment with Weller that quickly sparked the ship vibes), I was fascinated by the unusual mix of vulnerability and confidence. 

She’d just had a breakdown the previous night, alone in the safe house, confused and scared. And yet her need to get answers and her quick thinking strong-armed Mayfair and Weller into taking her in the field. She knew now she could speak mandarin, but she didn’t know she could fight, there was so little she knew about herself, her past or her abilities. Still, she was brave -and reckless and she got herself there anyway. 

How she handles this situation amused me so much from the first time I saw it. She’s clearly smug that Weller needed her help after all and can’t help but to rub it in just a little bit (the fact that he quietly concedes her point also speaks well of him), but she still quickly agrees, and gives him a defiant stare the whole time it takes her to get out of the car. There is so much to love about this brief interaction.

But yes, Jane Doe rules ♥

Definitely one of my favorite action scenes in the show, period! Upping Remi/Jane’s cool factor by a few notches, sword fighting, the photography, the colors, the choreography... and it even surprised me by having Rila Fukushima (playing Aiko) who I’ve loved since I saw her role in The Wolverine ♥

What’s not to like about What’s-her-name?

She is everything a role model should be, all wrapped in a small but lethal package. She is beautiful, sassy, sharp-tongued and quick-witted, with an encyclopaedic knowledge that she rarely displays except when it’s relevant to a case; she is funny and playful, compassionate and loving. She is a woman who is not afraid to speak her mind or show her emotions. A loyal friend who will support you to the end, even when it goes against her conscience. Just don’t betray her or her precious team: Tasha does not forgive easily. 

She is a total badass when she needs to be; brave, determined and ruthless, prepared to go to any lengths for the sake of the mission, yet retaining that underlying vulnerability that makes her so very human.

She is Tasha Zapata, and we love her.
