1) nick blaine - the handmaid’s tale "you okay?”

his signature line XD it’s the way he says it.  it’s how often he says it.  in so few words and often with no words at all, his love and devotion to June is so evident.  if you’re watching closely enough, we know all we need to know about who nick blaine is: kind, loyal, smart, selfless, and just downright GOOD.  he is both strong and tender, and i absolutely adore how emotionally attuned he is with June, and his capacity for empathy and vulnerability around his own feelings.  he is much too beautiful in a world that is much too dark, and i will love him forever.

2) june osborne - the handmaid’s tale "do not let them grind you down.  you keep your fucking shit together.  you fight!"

i don't necessarily like everything she's done in the show, but i love her strength and fighting spirit despite living in a world that makes all of those things punishable by death.  she's able to be so strong without being cold or aloof, and hasn't lost her capacity to be vulnerable, soft, open, and kind.  she breaks and falls, but gets back up.  and how loving and validating she was with hannah while her own heart was breaking (”why didn’t you try harder?” SOB)...i admire her and hope i could be capable of the same strength and grace in such an impossible situation.  

3) joey potter (and pacey witter) - dawson’s creek

i grew up with Joey and identified so much with her.  she will always be a part of me.  of course, i have to include pacey too.  two scrappy underdogs that the world dismisses.  my original OTP <3

4) buffy summers - buffy the vampire slayer

i admit i was one of those people who initially dismissed this show as “silly.”  “what kind of a name is Buffy?” i didn’t start watching it until it had ended.  i full heartedly take back any negative judgment about this show.  like June, i admire Buffy’s strength AND vulnerability.  she feels fear and fights anyways.  she’s tired AF and still finds a way to try.  every day.  

5) jess mariano - gilmore girls

Sensitive and misunderstood “bad boy” who reads and is wickedly smart.  Is he clichéd? yes.  Do I love him? Also, yes.  You know you’re introverted when a man who reads is sexy AF XD
