It's honestly kind of funny to me that catapulting into Kirk/Spock shipping has launched my usual "meh, not into jealousy as a metric of romantic love" shipping tendency out the window and instead I'm genuinely charmed by the extent to which they reflect the same unhealthy seething jealousy.

This is most obvious with Spock, but you'll get McCoy joking about Spock falling in love with a computer (not an android, a stationary computer) and McCoy being A Normal Guy Joking About His Friend Having a Hobby is immediately contrasted with Kirk's barely repressed jealousy (you can all but see him thinking "time to talk another computer to death" while McCoy just laughs at his own joke about it). Kirk gets more and more generally insecure until Spock publicly declares that, while he does like an efficient computer, Kirk is irreplaceable and he doesn't want to serve anyone or anything else, and Kirk looks like he's about to kiss him on the bridge.

(Kirk still talks the computer to death, btw, for plot reasons. But big "Edith Keeler must die" energy.)

I also enjoy Kirk's horror/outrage at Leila Kalomi and her obvious gloating over "taking" Spock from him in the docility sex pollen episode and Kirk's willingness to do or say anything to get Spock back vs Spock bleeding intensity throughout "Requiem for Methuselah" as Kirk falls in love with Rayna, then Spock numbly listening to McCoy's speech about how he can never understand the glories or agonies of romantic love triangles or passionate love before waiting for him to leave and then wiping Rayna from Kirk's mind. Just two bros who are totally normal about each other!

#genuinely hilarious to me how mccoy is used to be 'here's how a normal person would respond to his friend having a hobby or love interest'#[cut to kirk's or spock's 'WAIT WHAT does he love her/this more than me??? i can endure never speaking my love #but i canNOT endure my absolute centrality in his life being slightly disrupted by anything ever']#also they'll lightly rib each other but when they think something other than the 24/7 mutual admiration society is happening for real #it's like. kicked puppy time. spock will just be 'i'm sorry :( i'm trying my best :(((' or kirk's like 'you don't think i'm logical? :((('#they're so used to 'you are perfect 2 me your flawlessness is a force of nature like gravity' that... well.#i also think of how annoyed leonard nimoy was at the conclusion of the episode where whatshisface shapeshifted into kirk #and spock has to determine which kirk is the real one and there's an asinine fight scene mandated by higher-ups as he figures it out #and nimoy was like... obviously spock would recognize the actual kirk this is bullshit >:( iirc he was mad enough to complain to paramount #and in the actual episode kirk is like 'why didn't you know it was me RIGHT AWAY tho :( why did it take you so long :(((('#and when spock goes 'well i figured the impersonator would win the combat and then-' and kirk's face is just 'you thought i'd lose :((('#and spock rushes to assure him it's because of his condition at the time not GENERALLY of COURSE #meanwhile just about every other scene between them is kirk being like 'of COURSE you are SO logical and reliable sweetie <3'#anyway. kirk longingly watch spock mind meld with anything/one other than him and spock simmering in the background: iconic behavior #anghraine babbles #deep blogging #otp: the premise #james t kirk #spock #c: who do i have to be #c: i object to intellect without discipline #star peace #star trek: the original series #tos: s2 #tos: s3 #tos: s1 #tos: this side of paradise #tos: the ultimate computer #tos: the city on the edge of forever #tos: requiem for methuselah

I'm gonna give the third Yuma some chicken noodle soup, good nutrients, easy to digest, and help with electrolytes.

Although the chicken soup sounded good, he was far too weak to eat it himself. The high fever made it difficult for him to move much. But he was able to prop himself slightly upward.

The only way was for him to be spoon-fed the warm soup. It would surely help him get more energy later, but sadly he's only able to intake a few spoonfuls before his weak body protests consuming any more.

He’s thankful for the meal, even if it was a small one.

i hate the idea that solas idolizes mythal.

"she was the best of them" doesn't remotely come close to "she was morally righteous and pure"

and i hate the idea that mythal was a mother figure to solas. mentorship is one thing. mythal as motherhood, especially in this relationship, is entirely swallowing the evanuris koolaid.

and i hate even more the idea that they were lovers. These two sickos? not in a million years, bucko!!! Not even close! They already have too much together. There's no way in all the fade they can be present with each other in that way.

What really happened, the best words I have are these. Friend. Companion. Confidante. One of these Solas himself uses.

I was reading the post under your screenshots of Romeo. I'm curious. What is your theory on Romeo's death? Before he became a puppet?

Hmmm... I gave this some thought, so bear with me on this! Hear me out:

If we look at his skin here, prior to the explosion that burnt him... you'll see he still has kinda... dark spots on him? And his dialogue during the fight is very flame oriented.

Not to mention his Ergo, the very reflection of his heart, is titled "Burnt-White King's Ergo" and while it feels sorta like a copout, I feel like just maybe Romeo was victim to a fire. Krat was kinda burnt to the ground in a lot of places, after all. Subject 826 says so himself! And I really don't think he just means the newly burnt Opera House.

There's also the fire in the main section of Rosa Isabelle Street. So what I'm saying is... maybe... Romeo, after Carlo's death, graduated and became a Stalker himself. Remember, Carlo gave Romeo his own graduation pendant, meaning... Romeo hadn't graduated yet! Is Romeo maybe a grade behind? Younger? Less experienced, and therefore, made to stay longer? Who knows... But in the end, maybe, perhaps, as his duty to the people, he was helping people in, specifically, Rosa Isabelle Street? And got overwhelmed by the puppets there and died in a fire/burning building? (Leaning towards burning building, because his face prior to explosion doesn't look charred... just kinda dusty. So maybe a building collapse?)

Also, I'm comfortable saying he died at Rosa Isabelle Street because it's there that we find the "Notes from an Experiment" document!

His body had to have been close enough to drag into the Opera House in secret to experiment on, y'know? So I'm thinking maybe it's definitely his resting place (twice over, oof). It'd also be really sad if he really didn't even realize he had died? Like the death had been instantaneous.

"When the boy opened his eyes..." As in, one moment he was okay, and the next?? He was... not where he thought he would suddenly wake up at. Kinda my take on that...

This was extremely long, I apologize for that!! But thank you for the question!!!! ♡ It's loving Romeo hours up in here, he died trying to do what's right, I'm standing by that!!! How he took it upon himself to use his new found power to fight against the disease and alchemists just says enough of his character to say he definitely died being a hero!!

#like. just. the shock of it all #there’s something about Taylor where her experience of life is so ….. brutal #like I don’t know how else to say it but it just is. life is not easy on her it is always ready to CLOBBER her #and in a way she’s not easy on life. there’s some kind of magnets/opposite poles stuff where she’s just always drawn to the worst things #to feeling them and experiencing them and almost ??? creating them #like I don’t mean to overstate it. and I know she has a family who loves her (thank GOD)#and also she’s very practical and industrious about creating this very Instagram worthy life full of Fine Things and a Fun Time #and of course all the resources in the world at her disposal to create all the trappings of it #whether it’s a celebrity Fourth of July party or the eras tour #and she’ll do it and love it. but as all the best critics know and point out the most fascinating thing about Taylor is always the music #and it’s where all the weirdness and stubbornness and difficulties of her life. her a c t u a l longings her actual fears #her actual terrible awful experiences that she charges headlong down the paths of #is set free! and it’s breathtaking in the most shocking way #like falling through the ice! I always say the first thing that always hits me about a Taylor album is the bitterness #just this blast in the face. and her music is so gentle! in so many ways #and the packaging is so appealing and her voice is so soft and expressive and there is none of that weird experimentation #even musically (remember when she shut down imogen heap for putting a minor chord in clean she was like absolutely not. I’m obsessed)#(with that moment forever)#but like. so much of Taylor’s packaging and life and HER really does SEEM so basic or ordinary or just rich girl ordinary I guess #she likes basic things and wants basic things. but also she is so hungry so restless so angry so wounded the rich internal life is CHURNING #all the time. every second. and it’s spectacular to watch and also I will worry about her until the day I die #or just—-I don’t know. it’s going to be spectacular and it is sometimes going to be awful #but she will keep furiously writing her way through it!!#there IS such a woundedness to her. and it makes me love her so much because it’s packaged in such a way people think it must just be #whining or privilege. but it’s not! it’s just. the human condition and Taylor’s own flaws #okay I’ve lost the plot here a bit in my ramblings but yeah the ice metaphor. insanely perfect

also what do we think abt janus and remus rising up in WMTPG instead of just appearing- virgil just appeared bc of the adrenaline rush that came when logan announced the christmas gift exchange (aka he came involuntarily), but janus and remus rose up bc for once they were actually invited... much to think abt
