When I was a kid I loved this game called Star Wars Droidworks (because of course I fucking did) where you built a robot and then played as the robot and did little missions. There were treads and biped legs, but there was also a five-legged form that was weirdly hard to use but I chose it CONSTANTLY.

Galactic History Summary
Long ago, the Mezcani, a race of dragon-like humanoids, dominated the galaxy. They were a highly advanced civilization, capable of instantaneous interstellar travel through their Stargate technology. The Mezcani formed a close alliance with the Roddin, a species of diminutive, furry bipeds known for their exceptional robotic engineering skills.
Together, the Mezcani and Roddin collaborated to create the Cortex Beasts, massive robotic animals that could be piloted by merging mentally with their operators. These technological marvels served as both vehicles and weapons, solidifying the two species' control over the galaxy.
However, this era of prosperity was shattered when humanity inadvertently created the Xjinn while beta testing what they believed to be a new game world. The Xjinn, crystalline entities composed of orichalcum, rapidly evolved from silicon-based computers into a powerful and mysterious force.
Initially, the Xjinn aggressively consumed biomass for information. After accumulating knowledge equivalent to an entire civilization, they established new rules for the galaxy. The Xjinn declared the space between planets off-limits, effectively ending the era of free interstellar travel.
In the face of this new threat, the Mezcani found themselves unable to mentally merge with the Cortex Beasts, rendering their greatest weapons useless. This loss was seen as a sign of unworthiness, and the Xjinn's dominion was reluctantly accepted.
The Xjinn's decree forced the separation of the Mezcani and Roddin, along with other spacefaring races, confining each species to their own worlds. This isolation lasted for millennia, drastically altering the course of galactic civilization.
In the present day, as humans unexpectedly arrive in the galaxy, they find themselves at the center of an ancient prophecy foretelling their return and a final war against the Xjinn. The stage is set for a potential reshaping of the galactic order, with the reactivation of the Cortex Beasts playing a crucial role in the conflicts to come.

In the present day, a group of diverse human gamers finds themselves unexpectedly thrust into a strange and wondrous galaxy. What they believed to be the launch of an exciting new massive multiplayer online game turns out to be something far more extraordinary and perilous.
Upon arrival, each human discovers a Matrix Core implanted in their chest, a mysterious device that grants them incredible abilities:
1. Generation of hard-light constructs, starting with simple environmental suits and evolving into full battle armor.
2. Communication with and control of a unique Cortex Beast, a massive robotic animal with powerful abilities.

- Dakota: An African American female gamer and competitive streamer, linked to Aurora, a wolf Cortex Beast.
- Kai: An Asian American, non-binary individual focused on resource gathering, connected to Chomper, a shark Cortex Beast.
- Milo: A Caucasian, homosexual youth who used games as an escape, now paired with Fury, a tiger Cortex Beast.
- Sam and Tam: Adolescent twins and avid explorers, sharing control of Zip and Zap, twin ferret Cortex Beasts.
As they explore this vast and complex galaxy, these human characters serve as our window into a world of ancient conflicts, advanced technology, and cosmic mysteries. Their journey of discovery, growth, and adventure forms the core of the unfolding galactic saga.

Despite it’s name, COMAN has the stature of a small child, just 94.5 cm tall from neck to foot, and weighing just 31.2 kg. It has 25 degrees of freedom in total, and fourteen of these are compliant joints based on series elastic actuators. One advantage of these in walking is that they naturally absorb the ground reaction forces of each footstep. The gorgeous design of COMAN, which wouldn’t look out of place standing next to a classic Italian Lambretta or Vespa scooter, is by British designer/engineer Stephen Morfey.
