In this au Mimir who whose consciousness was trapped in a crystal lantern that R/n sometimes carries around with her. He acted as an honorary uncle and teacher to the frost giant queen when she was younger.

Mimir was originally in Thor's inner council before he defected to the Frost Giants side after witnessing Thor slaughter the monastery Mimir had grown up in; which was full of children whose only crime was being born to giant and human parents.

Thor had figured out that Mimir had purposely kept the monastery's location from him and ordered his death... Mimir managed to get to Jotunnheim before he was captured and was beheaded but he didn't die, Like Heimdall; Mimir was given cybernetic eyes by the Jotunn.

And Since Mimir was originally a scholar when he was human his eyes were made to remember and record everything; if he eye contact with people he could temporarily read their thoughts, but most importantly they recorded Mimir himself; so when he died his consciousness was saved and loaded into his eyes, Thor stole one eye and R/n found the other and brought it to her grandfather who made the lamp that Mimir resides in today.]

Family Practice: Old Notes

or: casting the Dressrosa arc characters in a cheesy medical drama.

One of my side projects is a crack hospital AU centered around Law and the Donquixote Family. The premise is that Doffy runs a hospital which is renowned for its novel Devil Fruit-assisted surgeries. However, the dirty secret is that nearly all of his surgeons are violent, incompetent nepo hires -- delinquents, basically. The department is skating by thanks to the one individual (I think you know who) doing all the work... only, said individual has a bit of an attitude problem of his own.

debating cross posting this one here as it should be on the shorter side.. Scared that the chapter linking will be a nightmare tho

Anyways, below are my preliminary notes from when I first started "assigning" roles to the main cast. Law is typically depicted as a doctor or med student in modern AUs, so that was straightforward ofc, but the others were a lot more challenging to "cast" in a hospital setting in a way that made sense. I did my best to have their roles match up to their canon personalities/abilities ^^

Dressrosa Hospital: Canon Characters

Doflamingo - Hospital Director & Head of Surgery.

Current chairman of the Grand Line Medical Society and the face of Dressrosa Hospital.

Ito Ito no Mi: His Devil Fruit allows him to repair damaged tissue from within, allowing for minimally invasive procedures.

On paper he is also the Head of Surgery, but has left most of the leadership responsibilities in that department to Trebol and Diamante.

Sugar - Head of Human Resources

Hobi Hobi no Mi:  Sugar uses her abilities to silence unbribable auditors and/or whistleblowers threatening to expose the hospital’s grossly unethical practices

Her victims are turned into inanimate toys, which are handed out as gifts to child patients.  

Vergo - Head of Hospital Security

Ex-military man still obsessed with rank for some reason.

Turns a blind eye to inter-colleague fist fights in the parking garage. Is not above beating the brats up himself for pay.

Pica - Head of Facilities

Ishi Ishi no Mi:  He uses his powers to keep the building intact from aforementioned fist fights.  

Giolla - Head of Internal Medicine.  

Ato Ato no Mi:  Giolla’s Devil Fruit allows her to convert her patients’ scans into strange artistic renditions of which she can only decipher, from which she can supposedly parse out hidden symptoms.

For the most part, her underlings pretend to understand her eccentric interpretations to avoid conflict, and then check with Viola to correct her diagnoses behind her back.

Often brings her son Dellinger to work.  New hires are advised to beware, as the kid is known to bite.

Viola ("Violet") - Internist.

Giro Giro no Mi: She uses her Devil Fruit abilities for fast and accurate medical diagnosis.

Daughter of the old Hospital Director, Riku Doldo III, who was pushed out of his position on allegations of medical malpractice.

Diamante - Surgeon.

Hira Hira no Mi:  He uses his abilities to tune the flexibility of organ tissue, allowing for easy manipulation and access during surgery (supposedly)

Susceptible to bribery & serial philanderer.  Loves the attention & barely spends time in the OR, instead wasting hospital money on costly “business trips to present at conferences” (aka outings with his mistresses).

Trebol - Surgeon.

Beto Beto no Mi:  He uses his abilities to repair damaged tissue/vessels via adhesion and produce slime layers to protect exposed organs during procedures (supposedly)

Has been reported for workplace harassment by several nurses.  

Expert at networking – Doffy relies on him to bring in high-profile patients.

Monet - Anesthesiologist

Yuki Yuki no Mi:  She uses her powers to regulate her patient’s body temperature during surgery & cool vital organs to protect from ischemic injuries.

Gladius - Surgeon.

Pamu Pamu no Mi:  He uses his abilities to target and rupture tumors, cysts, arterial plaque, etc. (again, supposedly)

Has anger management issues and frequently damages the building whenever he loses it and causes his hair to explode.  Extremely loyal to the Director & prioritizes upholding the hospital’s reputation over patient care.  

Gets squeamish around dead bodies & blood… which raises the very pertinent question of why he chose to go into this profession to begin with.  He will yell at you if you dare ask it though.

Law - Surgeon.

Ope ope no Mi:  Self explanatory.   

Is the only competent surgeon on staff & single handedly responsible for the department's success.  Spends most of his time napping in the call room or working in the OR.  Doesn’t seem to care about the ethical implications of his colleagues taking credit for his work.

Has one living relative - his sister, Lami - who works as a paralegal under famed defense attorney "Fujitora." Lami constantly mails her brother high quality rice, since her boss hands them out at the firm like candy and she has too much to finish on her own. Law stores these rice bags in the one call room he's basically converted into his loft. One can assume that this rice makes up the majority of his diet in the form of onigiri and tamago-kake gohan.

Despite his purported salary, he is extremely stingy with his money and generally looks like he is living below the poverty line. (The rice is an exception ofc, and even that is bc it's for "free.") This has caused workplace rumors that he is addicted to gacha gaming and/or being scammed by a camgirl.

Knowing his worth, he is well aware he can throw his weight around.  Needless to say, his horrible bedside manners are tanking the hospital’s reputation.

Bellamy - Resident.

Joined the hospital because he looked up to the Hospital Director.  Desperate to prove himself.

Bane Bane no Mi:  He still hasn’t figured out how to apply his Devil Fruit ability to medicine yet, but the speed it grants him makes him a good messenger boy.

Buffalo & Baby 5 - Emergency paramedics 

Buffalo’s Guru Guru no Mi abilities turns him into a mini helicopter which can be used for quick transportation.

In dangerous situations (ex. active shooter) Baby 5 uses her Buki Buki no Mi to suppress any threats so they can get to victims even before police clear the area.

Dressrosa Hospital: Original Characters

Arisa - Clinical trial coordinator.

Dressrosa Hospital’s latest hire & main POV character as she tries to navigate the absolute insanity of the organization, somewhat haplessly at first.

Daughter of a famous film actress, Uzuki Towa, who retreated from the public eye years ago after being blacklisted in a mysterious scandal.  Is also the great niece of Uzuki Misokatsu, co-founder of the life sciences company Kōzuki Instruments.  The family connection has resulted in her being labelled a “nepo baby” throughout most of her schooling and career, causing severe self-esteem issues and fueling unhealthy workaholic tendencies.

She is very fastidious and color codes everything.  Was used to planning her schedules down to the minute in her old job, and the spontaneous nature of her new role initially leaves her feeling out of her depth.

Was chronically ill as a child, but recovered after receiving treatment from a certain Devil Fruit user.  This is what inspires her to go into her profession & come to Dressrosa Hospital, as she wants to further public acceptance of Devil Fruit-assisted medical treatments in order to save more lives. 

Needless to say, she is crushed to discover that most of the hospital’s advancements are a lie.  Later on, she becomes determined to expose the organization’s true nature to the public.

Kotone - Scrub nurse.

The only scrub nurse on staff who can keep up with Law's fast-paced operations.

Her unofficial duties include covering up evidence of inter-colleague homicide attempts & “babysitting” (aka keeping an eye on Law on the Director’s behalf) – all for a hefty paycheck, of course.  On the other hand, Law also pays her to listen in on Family Executive meetings and report back to him, as well as to illegally obtain whatever patient & drug trial records that catch his attention.  Overall, she is frustratingly ambiguous about her true loyalties.

Whenever a brawl breaks out between the surgeons, she is mostly indifferent about how patients might be affected and more concerned about public perception.  However, she is not completely heartless, as she goes out of her way to warn new hires from getting involved with Surgery, albeit under an uncaring guise.

Has a weakness for luxury fur coats and expensive makeup brands, which the Director exploits quite liberally to his advantage. 

Yotsuji - Internist.

Arisa's supervisor and PI.

Known to be one of the few "decent" doctors on staff, but is weak under institutional pressure and constantly gets pushed around by the Hospital Director for it.

He despises the members of the Surgery Department for their delinquent behavior and grows concerned when Arisa keeps getting pulled into their antics.

Other Recurring Characters

Nico Robin - Baroque Works sales representative.

Headed by Crocodile, Baroque Works is a clinical research company which supplies analytical instruments to the hospital.  Dressrosa Hospital has been a client for many years now, but now Doflamingo is in talks with CEO Kurozumi Orochi to establish a partnership with his company Kōzuki Instruments (BW’s main competitor).

Robin uses her Hana Hana no Mi abilities to sprout ears in the hospital and eavesdrop to obtain confidential info for her company

Tony Tony Chopper - Intern.

Working part-time as he attends Grand Line University on pre-med track.  

Got the role by cold-emailing Diamante, who agreed to be his mentor (because he is susceptible to flattery) and then promptly forgot about him.  Was reassigned to Law on his first day.

canon likes to not focus on the kairi and riku dynamic but i remember. nomura you can't make me forget kh1 to kh2 and all the shit riku endured for kairi and the clear same level of care she has for him even if you only let her show it for like five minutes at most or have pieces of it mirrored in their relationships to other characters and barely acknowledge it otherwise. i'm not gonna delve too deep into this here because i'm already in the middle of doing a long ass post about what riku means to kairi so time to put a pin in that and onto plot ideas!

maybe threads were they talk about what's on their mind? they clearly do off screen. and let them tease each other oh my god. let them support each other while also being able to drag each other for little things. meeting riku exponentially increased her snark capabilities. just like how riku was protective of kairi, she is protective of him, though it tends to usually manifest in different ways, and they both could take it a bit too far unintentionally or not ( side eyes kh1 ). and a background element i vibe with? right person wrong time missed opportunities but echoes of it still there on both ends (*cough*orwecoulddosomethingwiththat*cough*).

sparring sessions! riku did visit her while she was learning under merlin so let them take a moment to train. the master can show her the ropes lest she run off into a crowd of heartless wildly swinging the keyblade around again.

you know, one thing they can have is their own long running score over anything and everything. from arcades to those table games like air hockey and soccer to who manages to bean a specific branch the most times with a rock to surfing to fishing to card games like triple triad to who can catch the most peanuts in their mouth to whoever can stomach the most donuts. just random things they do together and turn into an impromptu competition, and because it's been going on so long they sometimes get the current tally wrong and insist they're the one in the lead.

next time riku goes to destiny islands someone ( selphie? ) should really hand him the stack of sealed letters addressed to him by kairi but were never really intended to be sent since he had been mia off the islands for over a year. i wonder what they say...

oh, ha, maybe, one day, they're talking and kairi just casually mentions something in conversation that riku picks up on though she breezes past it without much thought like it's common knowledge but it isn't. because. because he thought she didn't know about it and the only time he mentioned it to her was during that time in kh1 when he had her empty body and implications are there now and

Hello, hello! Welcome to the world of Avatar: The Last Keyblader! A Kingdom Hearts x ATLA au made for silliness and shenanigans!

Sora is the avatar, an airbender that ran from his temple when he could no longer handle the pressure. After wandering a few years, he was caught in a storm, his avatar state sealing him in an iceberg for protection. 100 years later, Kairi, a young water bender going fishing for her village, discovers Sora and breaks him free from the iceberg. On their travels to get Sora to learn all four elements, they come across Riku, a young man who has been sheltered his whole life because he was born blind- only for the pair to discover he is actually the blind bandit- An underground fighter known for his incredible earth bending! Together the three try to strengthen Sora and get him to master all four elements, so that he can take down Xehanort, and restore balance to the world!

The destiny trio's roles and Xehanort being the Fire Lord are the only “requirements” for this au- anything else goes! You can play the main KH cast- or re-imagine a Disney character to fit into the ATLA universe! Your choice! Who will be the dishonored prince/princess to teach Sora firebending? Who knows! Maybe it won’t be royalty at all!

The main cast has been bumped up to age 18 in order to avoid the whole "child soldier" trope, and to let the characters better handle the heavy themes present in the show. But it's your choice if you want your adult muses to be the same age as canon, or to bump it up too! Let’s get some characters and have some fun!

Blue Island AU

Welp, it got dark all of a sudden.

So, to explain this piece a bit : I've been working on an AU for quite while now named Blue Island. To put it simply it's a kinda a remix of magical girls and kh together with a tad or realism as you can see. Designing the magical girls clothes all the while keeping the spirit of each character original ones was tough but gratifying !

For this piece I really wanted to illustrate the vibe of "oh we are in trouble. Huge trouble". In this AU, Sora, Riku and Kairi are pushed into this new world of being protectors of light without much training sooo... Let's just say the first few fights aren't pretty. I hope it's not too graphic I tried to keep it down

They looked at each other without really seeing. Eyes locked yet blind. Deep inside, numerous feelings were eating at both of the woman. Old, crumbled up memories crashed against each other in a silent cacophony.

Myrti was out of words. Out of ways to express everything. Larxene was too full of questions. All of them rushing to her head all at once, making it impossible to ask any. So they continued to look at the other. Like a stranger. Like a lover. Like a foe.

Everything rang true yet one was oblivious to the truth and the other refused to give it. And the blond vampire, truly, deeply wanted answers. To put reasons being the angry and vengeful actions of Myrti. To have a sentence -even a single word- to respond to the numerous "why" that had kept repeating in her head over the last years.

She opened her mouth. To say it. Say her piece. Or maybe just something. Anything. Anything that could break the silence and hatred. But the young woman before her didn't let her. With neither words nor action. Only her eyes.

The blond didn't remember the before. Before being Larxene, she was nothing -or at least that's what her inexistent memories told her-. Before being a vampire, for her, she didn't exist as a human. All this time, she reasoned herself.

"why care about it ? I don't remember it anyways."

Surely if she had been loved, if she had been cared about, someone would have looked for her... And no one came.

Looking back, it sure was a stupid way to think. A way of coping. Of not regretting. Of not staying stuck in the eternal loop of searching for the ghosts of those she didn't know about. Really, all she ever did was blinding herself. Turning away and running the furthest away from any possible problems.

Sure, she lived to the fullest. A life of excess and joy, the life of a creature of the night. She did as she wanted without a care and never did she regretted it. Not for a second. Not until she met her.

All along, she knew. She knew they were entangled one way or another. There was this pull, this mysterious invisible thread that always lead her back to Myrti. Yet she didn't question it. She didn't question the hate. The bitterness. The plain and obvious hurt. The blond covered her eyes. She played dumb. Just as she ignored the clear consequences of her past actions -even if she didn't remember them-, she also decided to not acknowledge her eyes.

The eyes she now gazed into. Full of pain, agonising loathing and regrets. She saw it. She saw for the first time the full extent of it. From the flamming hate... to the burning love. The care. Even the affection she tried to deny seeing in the other vampire.

Myrthi both loved her and hated her. One as destructive as the other. Both consuming her in every actions she took until now. And Larxene knew. Understood. She had to accept : she was the catalyst of all of it.

And that's it for today ! I hope it was nice to look and read ! Today's is pretty grim/angsty but zhwt can I say ? That's my jam !

There are four prominent gangs in the city of Tiwell, the North (Vultures), the South (Eagles), The East (Jackals), and the West (Cobras). The story revolves around Naoko Hata-the leader of the Jackals-and Hiroshi Fujita-the leader of the Vultures.

Pretty much nobody is human btw, they’re all hybrids of something so if you happen to be a monster fucker, this is the universe for you.
