When I asked Ms. Dyer if she could tell me which industry served as Glitterex’s biggest market, her answer was instant: “No, I absolutely know that I can’t.”
I was taken aback. “But you know what it is?”
“Oh, God, yes,” she said, and laughed. “And you would never guess it. Let’s just leave it at that.” I asked if she could tell me why she couldn’t tell me. “Because they don’t want anyone to know that it’s glitter.”
“If I looked at it, I wouldn’t know it was glitter?”
“No, not really.”
“Would I be able to see the glitter?”
“Oh, you’d be able to see something. But it’s — yeah, I can’t.”
I asked if she would tell me off the record. She would not. I asked if she would tell me off the record after this piece was published. She would not. I told her I couldn’t die without knowing. She guided me to the automotive grade pigments.

11:00 Hej!

A koala was given water on Thursday after being rescued from a fire in Jacky Bulbin Flat in New South Wales, Australia. Credit...Paul Sudmals, via Reuters.
Excerpt from this New York Times story:
There is no doubt that the fires tearing across eastern Australia have been hurting koalas.
With large areas of their crucial habitat ravaged, it is unclear what the future holds for a species that was already under threat before this round of bush fires. Some koalas have been rescued — singed and dehydrated — from the wild. And with blazes still burning, it is hard to know how many have been killed.
But in describing the plight of these animals, is it possible to go too far?
The phrase “functionally extinct” made the rounds in news articles and on social media over the weekend. The term refers to a species that no longer plays a role in an ecosystem or that is on its way to extinction, possibly irremovably.
That provoked a visceral reaction from readers who wondered if the fuzzy marsupials, a national symbol of Australia, will be gone forever.
In fact, koalas are not extinct. And some scientists warned that exaggeration can hurt, rather than help, conservation efforts.
“What is particularly frustrating about the term ‘functional extinction’ is it indicates a population that is basically past the point of no return, so it means that nothing really can be done,” said Jacquelyn Gill, an associate professor at the University of Maine’s Climate Change Institute and School of Biology and Ecology.
“That might seem like scientists quibbling over terms or trying to argue for nerdy levels of precision, but a strong statement like that should mean something,” she said.
Koalas could go extinct. The International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List, the authority on the conservation status of the world’s species, says the koala population is declining and vulnerable — but not endangered.
There could be hundreds of thousands of koalas, but nailing down a number has proved impossible. Estimates range wildly, and every region is different. In some places, scientists say, koalas’ numbers have declined by up to 80 percent.
Koalas evolved to exist alongside wildfires, but the animals are facing new threats from human development, which has dislocated local populations and impaired their ability to survive fires, as well as climate change.

hey!! this is. probably a dumb question but i can Never figure out the fill function works,, do you have tips on how to use it effectively? also your tulip field's already lookin really cool!! i cant wait to see it finalized
thank you!! i'm proud of it thus far!!
It's not a dumb question, because, admittedly, its a sort of trial-and-error practice thing, and i'll do my best, as I am not at my desktop and will not be for an hour or two.
if you haven't already, check the MC wiki's "Command /fill" page. (sorry, i can't link, it kills posts from the tags.) It gives you a basic rundown.
Secondly, use that autofill option. When you type "/fill " (including the space), and you're looking at a block, you'll see you have an autofill option with the coordinates of the block you're looking at. That will be your first corner.
You'll usually want to go back to the Y coordinate (the middle one) and raise it by one if you got your coordinate by looking at the ground. You can enter the incomplete command without any repurcussions, and go to the other corner of the space you want to fill. Hit slash, tap the up arrow key to bring back your incomplete command, and add a space; you'll get a second autofill and be able to use that coordinate. You can now hit enter again to save your incomplete command.
Now you have your coordinates; now you need to add a block. This also has an autocomplete, so type the name of the block or item you want -if you want blank space, type "air"- and click on it.
Now you can add conditions. I'm going to screenshot the MC wiki, because, honestly, I cannot explain it any clearer.

To explain replace: after entering your "/fill x y z x y z blockid replace", you can add a space and another block ID; that second block ID will be replaced by the first, ie "/fill x y z x y z minecraft:diorite replace minecraft:andesite" will only replace the andesite in the parameters with diorite; everything else will be left as-is.
Of course, blocks will conform to their physics. I do not know if sand or gravel will automatically fall, but things like flowers spawned in air blocks will break; this can cause lag if its a wide space (trust me). As soon as you're out of the lagspike, i recommend using "/kill @e[type=item]" to kill the item entities and save your life.
Heres an example; "/fill 30 67 40 40 72 75 minecraft:white_tulip keep"
I can cover a hill in those dimensions with white tulips; the "keep" argument keeps the hill from being destroyed and replaced. The tulips in air blocks would then break and drop as item entities, so you use the /kill command from earlier to erase the entities to reduce lag.
If you have any questions, let me know! I may do a graphic guide in the future.

There have been different versions of this, but this one is particularly great - it’s a then and now, and has really terrific narrations of the photos. How to Propose an Open Relationship
How to Propose an Open Relationship | Malia Wollan
Since Conley first began publishing academic papers on nonmonogamy more than a decade ago, she has been attacked by other researchers in the field. Their anger confused her. “It was like I shot their dog,” she says. Her methodology wasn’t the problem, she says; it was that she’d dared to suggest that nonmonogamous relationships could be healthy and satisfying.
