I wonder if the Doctor and Jamie ever got captured and searched, and all a sudden their capturer finds the spare knife tucked away in Jamie’s boot.

Like I just imagine it immediately gets them, or at least Jamie into more trouble - and then the Doctor’s kinda like I’m surprised but really shouldn’t be that you have that.

I like to think he keeps that one hidden though cause he knows the doctor’s weary about it, but I’m sure it comes up in a situation that definitely saves the Doctor in the end so he kinda can’t really be mad about Jamie hiding secret knives

Ironically, every single character death in a story called "Earthshock" is earned, serves a purpose, and is awesome. And they're all pretty shocking in their brutality, even if you expect it coming.

there’s a big difference between “i’m sad because a character i was emotionally invested in was killed off” and “this character’s death served no purpose, was used for shock value, and is the product of bad writing and i’m upset about that”

I feel like Dr whos exist on a spectrum between the following 2 states:

1: you have lived with them in the tardis for like 2 years and in that time you have never once seen them in a state of undress. You go to bed at night and they are hanging out fully dressed in the console room. You get up in the morning and they're still fully dressed in the console room. Wake up in the night? You guessed it fully dressed in the console room. Presumably they have a bedroom somewhere but you don't know where it is. They must shower bcos they aren't stinky but you've never seen any evidence of this. Inscrutable.

2: so I was just getting out the shower when I remembered I was going to defrag the temporal coordinates drive so I went to do that before I forgot and no I didn't feel like putting a towel on haha yeah I guess I am naked. Can you grab my screwdriver it's over there.

Very little middle ground on this.
