i think the most annoying part about coming back to nuwho after watching classic who/delving into the eu is it reminds you you literally don't have to do all that. There Are Other Options. nuwho is weirdly allergic to non-contemporary or non-human companions but like you can literally just put a guy from 1746 in there and no one fucking cares. it rules

Say that he is either the Doctor's son or father depending on how old they both appear (a junior/senior situation)

Come up with a normal human pseudonym himself like Mark or Dave because the Doctor stole his name goddammit

Just fucking introduce himself as the Doctor and completely ruin the point of the Doctor calling himself John Smith

Rose’s natural hair is light brown/dirty blonde and curly

Martha made sure to check on Belinda and they became close friends

The kids on the Powell estate thought they were haunted by a ghost from ww2, it took Rose awhile to realise the ‘ghost’ from her childhood was just Jack

The doctor uses each and every new face as a way to visit old friends without them ever knowing. Especially Rose, Amy and Rory

Yaz’s room has a giant pinboard full of pictures from her adventures

Many of the companions have hidden social media accounts where they all communicate with each other, share stories etc

Companions have been known to edit Wikipedia pages and correct authors… the amendments always get taken down
