A/N: A little Kensi and Callen/Anna fic, related to the recent revelation. Spoilers for last week’s NCIS.
***
Another One Joins the Team
“So, how are you feeling Anna?” Kensi asked, bringing her a can of sprite before sitting next to Deeks on the loveseat.
“It was not fun a couple of weeks ago,“ Anna said, grimacing. “I feel much better now though. I may never eat coleslaw again.”
Kensi nodded in sympathy. “Yeah, I still can’t look at lemonade the same way.”
“At the risk of overstepping, what made you change your mind about having kids?” Deeks asked. “Did my mom’s relentless, not to mention highly inappropriate, badgering to produce a pseudo-grandchild finally wear you down?” Deeks joked.
“Honestly, spending time with Caleb and Sophia. It made me realize I didn’t want to miss out on that if possible,” Anna said. “Though a bonus is your mother has stopped offering me articles about fertility and Arkady is no longer guilting me about the family line ending.” Anna rolled her eyes.
“And I figured I shouldn’t pass on the opportunity to saddle another child with names no one can pronounce.” Callen grinned as he evaded Anna’s elbow.
“Come on, Grisha is not that bad,” Kensi objected.
“Personally, I think he or she should be Alexandrovich Jr.”
“Do not give him ideas,” Anna warned Deeks, muttering a couple choice words in Russian under her breath.
“Hey, that could work for a girl or boy,” Deeks insisted, laughing at Anna’s horrified expression and Callen’s instigating smirk.
“I think I want something different. There’s are entirely too many people whose names start with “A” in this family.”
“Kensi is a strong name.”
“So is Martin.”
Callen nodded in agreement with Deeks. “I’ve always thought so.”
“Ooh, what if you have twins?” Kensi suggested, joining in. “Then you could choose both.”
“Kensi, don’t you even think such a thing,” Anna said, her expression only half joking. She sat back, taking a sip of her drink. “I don’t know how you did it.”
Reaching forward, Kensi squeezed Anna’s hand. “Sorry. We are really happy for both of you.”
“We are. You guys are going to be great parents,” Deeks added.
“Thanks. We’re pretty happy about it,” Callen said. Taking Anna’s hand, he brought it to his lips in an uncharacteristically public display of affection. There was a moment of silence, then Deeks asked,
“What about Atticus?”

NCIS LA S14
I know that it's already come and gone, but I haven't been able to watch it. Not because I don't have a way to watch it but because once I do, it's truly over and that makes me sad. I've been watching the show since December 2018, in the middle of season 10, and it's hard to let the show and these characters go. I've loved nearly all of the cast and characters through the whole show and I just hate knowing there will be no more new episodes to watch.

I watched this episode last night, and honestly them saying “I love you” to each other felt a bit underwhelming? I expected them to be more emotional about it, but it might just be in-character for them.
I felt so many things when I saw Callen and Anna just holding each other after Sam defused the bomb though! ❤️😭 the poor dears really needed that hug, after everything they went through in this episode!
Callen and Anna saying they love each other after finally defeating Katya has me feeling so many things 😭😍

A/N: Merry Christmas! I hope everyone has a fantastic day.
***
Santa Clause is Coming to Town
For the first time in a couple years, Kensi and Deeks were hosting everyone for Christmas again. Nell and Eric had flown in for the month and would be arriving soon, Sam and Callen had found time in their schedules, and even Admiral Kilbride had deigned to accept their invitation. The dining area, living room, and front room were completely filled, broken to little groups either chatting or eating.
Kensi and Deeks made their way around, greeting everyone and making sure there was enough food.
Fatima, Rountree, and Rosa sat on the couch, entertaining Sophia and Caleb. Or maybe it was the other way around, Deeks decided as he watched Fatima flip Caleb and break into laughter at his squeals of delight.
“Hey guys, thanks for coming,” Deeks said, giving them each a hug.
“Thanks for having us.” Fatima reached before her, pulling out a small gift box. “That’s for tomorrow when you don’t feel like cooking.”
“Thank you.” Accepting the gift, Kensi turned to Rountree. “Is Summer ok? I thought you said she was coming.”
“She’s ok,” Rountree assured them. “Not happy, but fine. She’s on call and got asked to sub in for another who’s sick.”
“Yeah, I remember those days,” Deeks said with a grimace. “Well, there’s lots of food in the kitchen, water and pop in the white cooler, and adult beverages in the blue one.” Deeks lowered his voice to a whisper. “There’s also mixed drinks in the top cabinet over the refrigerator, but don’t let Arkady see.”
“Gotcha.”
“Yeah, last year was not good,” Rosa said, shaking her head.
“What happened?” Rountree wondered with a hint of trepidation in his eyes.
“We had to retrieve Arkady from the neighbors after he had a little too much Christmas cheer and decided to regale them with stories of his past.”
“Fortunately it was an older couple who found him very entertaining,” Kensi explained.
“Well, at least he seems occupied for now,” Fatima pointed out, nodding to where Arkady held court with Colonel Hanna and Roberta. Whatever tall tale he was telling had both of them cracking up.
“For now.”
The doorbell rang and Deeks heard Nell’s voice a moment later.
“Eric and Nell are here!” Rosa said excitedly, rushing up to go greet them. Deeks title his head to see the top of a boingy elf hat that could only belong to Nell and Eric’s signature holiday top hat.
“Well, I guess we’ve been replaced as the welcoming committee,” Deeks joked.
“Up.” Caleb started to climb Deeks’ leg, and he picked him up, propping him up on his hip, then Sophia when she immediately reached for him too.
“Are you hungry?” Kensi asked.
“Cookie?” Sophia said hopefully.
“Mm, maybe after some cheese and crackers.”
“Alright, we’re going to get these guys some dinner. Or at the very least, some snacks. You want anything?” Deeks gestured to Fatima and Rountree.
“Eh, I already ate like ten Christmas cookies,” Rountree revealed with a grimace.
“I told you to pace yourself,” Fatima reminded him.
“I know.” He sighed. “But they’re so good.”
“Ok, we’ll back in a little bit,” Deeks said, hefting the twins higher. “Sheesh, you guys are killing my back.”
After Caleb and Sophia ate a well-rounded dinner of cucumbers, crackers, and cookies, they ended up chatting with Anna, Eric, and Nell.
“It’s great being back at work,” Kensi was explaining to Nell and Anna. “But I also really miss these guys.” She nodded to Sophia and Caleb, currently building a tower with Sam.
“That has to be so hard,” Nell said. “I’m so happy for you two though. Well, five.”
“Thanks. Every day is crazy, but it’s an amazing kind of crazy.”
“Ooh, speaking of crazy, remind me to get your gifts before we leave,” Eric said.
“That’s a concerning segue,” Deeks observed, pursing his lips. “Do k wanna know?”
“Probably not,” Eric told him happily.
“I would be very scared,” Anna told Deeks in an undertone. “And what is my husband doing?”
A few feet away, Callen had interrupted the block building by presenting Sam with a large white box.
“Come on, Sam,” he cajoled.
“I’m not putting that on,” Sam insisted, leaning away from Callen as he tried to make him take the box. He picked Caleb up, using him as a sort of human shield.
“There are children present. We need a Santa.” Callen pointed to the twins as evidence, pulling out a white beard and hat.
“Yeah, well it’s not going to be me. I bet it wouldn’t the suit wouldn’t even fit me.”
“It stretches.”
“Grisha Callen, leave him alone,” Anna interceded.
“Ooh, you just got full first-named,” Deeks teased.
“Martin Atticus, tell Sam he needs to participate,” Callen said. “It wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa.”
“Tanta?” Sophia asked, looking around excitedly.
“See?” Callen gestured to her as evidence. “You wouldn’t want to disappoint your little niece.”
“You’re shameless.” Sam said, shaking his head. “Ask Deeks.”
“Sorry, the twins would see through that in a second.”
“Enough with bickering. Good lord, it’s like I’m back in the office,” Kilbride grumbled, getting off of his chair with a grimace. “I’ll do it.”
“You’re going to be Santa?” Deeks repeated, fighting back a grin.
“It wouldn’t be the first time,” Kilbride responded with as much dignity as he could.
“I did not see that coming,” Kensi murmured.
“Ooh, and Eric and I can be elves,” Nell added excitedly. “We brought our costumes just in case.”
“I’ll get them out of the car,” Eric said, hurrying off. Kilbride didn’t look too pleased by this update and grumbled something about needing another drink as he grabbed the box from Callen.
“I’ll be right back,” Kensi told Deeks.
“Where are you going?”
“To get my phone. This moment needs to be recorded for posterity.”
Merry Christmas to us,” he sang, sitting down beside Caleb and Sophia. “Hey, don’t worry if Santa seems a little extra grumpy this year. He’s a big old softy deep down.”

NCIS Season 22, Episode 18 ‘After the Storm’ brings back LL Cool J’s Sam Hanna in an episode that is mostly about him, but that remembers to tie into the larger NCISverse in a way that makes it feel like there are still more stories to be told—even from the properties we’ve said goodbye to. And though we don’t know when or where, it does seem like we might be getting that Hetty closure NCIS: Los Angeles fans have been waiting for.
How exactly that’s going to happen if Chris O’Donnell is busy doing 9-1-1: Nashville is something they’re going to have to figure out.
But the episode isn’t all about looking back, it’s also about looking forward for Sam, a character who has made quite a few changes since NCIS: Los Angeles ended. And yet, in the end, this episode proves that Sam is still Sam, and you can always count on him to have your six whenever you need.
NCIS UNIVERSE

NCIS Season 22, Episode 18 ‘After the Storm’ has a couple of G. Callen mentions—he and Anna are having a baby!—and ties into the Hetty of it all that NCIS: Los Angeles left hanging when it was cancelled. But it also uses Sam to mention Jane Tennant, and to sort of remind us that the NCISverse is bigger than just this show, and just the one spinoff that is still ongoing (since NCIS: Origins is happening in the past, and NCIS: Tony & Ziva has yet to premiere).
It’s a good reminder not just for nostalgia’s sake, but because there are so many good characters this show can draw upon when it needs to that it hasn’t really utilized. From Jane Tennant, to Kensi Blye and Marty Deeks (who must have had a kid by now, we need an update please), there are multiple ways NCIS can do what it did this episode to further the universe. And hey, just as there was a blink and you’ll miss it 5-way-crossover this season, next season, we can get an actual NCIS/NCIS: Sydney crossover. There’s enough time to plan it out now.
Plus, it would be a crime not to find a way to bring Tony and Ziva back somehow next season, now that the two characters will be back for their own show. The NCISverse feels like it’s more alive than ever these days, and it’s the best time for this particular show to capitalize.
ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN

NCIS Season 22, Episode 18 ‘After the Storm’ continues with the LaRoche business in a way that makes it seem we are not actually done with it this season. Torres, Knight, and even Parker are, of course, on McGee’s side, even if they don’t really seem to believe there’s anything there. It’s a little bit like when you’re humoring a friend. Like, you’re gonna have their back, of course, but you think they’re being a little ridiculous. He isn’t, and he’s going to get to say he told them so, and I hope he actually does.
But this episode escalates it to Vance, who basically tells McGee they’re all going to be in trouble if he’s wrong, so he’s gotta be absolutely sure. It’s an ominous warning, particularly one coming from the Director of NCIS. Why would they all be in trouble if McGee is wrong? McGee certainly, but Vance? What is going on with LaRoche, and if someone knew before, how did he even get the Deputy Director position? Whatever it is, can the show tell us this season? We’re a little tired of asking question after question and getting no closer to the answers.
Things I think I think:
Okay, so we’re going to get more on this LaRoche thing this season, right? Right? At this point there’s no way we’re dropping it until next season.
“I am the fort”?
What do you mean Sam is no longer an agent? Insert Jennifer Lawrence gif.
“I never touch carbs after 1 PM” sounds about right.
“Sam, Victoria, and I have a standing weekend karaoke date.” Whaaaaat, Jimmy? The lore drop.
Ha, the inside joke about Sam singing.
“I didn’t hang it up. Just a little course correction.” This feels wildly OOC for Sam, not gonna lie.
Did I get emotional thinking about Callen as a dad? I got 14 seasons of backstory as my reasoning.
Now I just need information on Kensi and Deeks. WILL THEY HAVE PLAYDATES?
Sam saving Parker’s ass, lol.
Vance giving Sam a pep talk was good. Man, I miss Hetty.
Yippee Ki‐Yay?
Did you really call Tennant to ask for that recipe?
Tell us more about these things you gotta take care of, Sam.
WHERE ARE YOU, HENRIETTA LANGE?
Spotted on the wrong side of the DMC?
Please, give us closure. I’m begging here.

A/N: You know I had to do it. *Spoilers for the latest episode of NCIS, and therefore certain LA characters.
***
Deeks: Hey, you guys want to grab drinks after this? I know a place that has half off margaritas and five dollar draft beers.
Callen, shaking his head: I’d love to, but Anna can’t.
Deeks, surprised: Oh, I thought she was off for a few days.
Callen, catching himself: She is. Uh, she just hasn’t be feeling that great and uh, yeah, I wouldn’t want to go out without her.
Deeks, picking up on the tell: She doesn’t feel good?
Callen: Yeah, she has one of those bugs going around.
Deeks, nodding: Uh-huh. If I recall correctly, Anna had norovirus a few weeks ago and before that, she ate some weird jalapeño poppers. *he purses his lips, squinting at Callen thoughtfully* Anna wouldn’t be pregnant by chance, would she?
Callen, too shocked to deny it: How the hell did you figure that out?
Deeks, holding up three fingers: One: I have experience from keeping Kensi’s pregnancy a secret. Remember the bad shawarma? Two: I’ve known you for fifteen years and know your lying face. Three: It’s literally the plot of every romance novel with a pregnancy storyline.
Callen: I need to read more.
Deeks: So, when did you find out the big news?
Kensi, walking in from the bedroom: What good news? Did Anna get that promotion?
Callen: Not exactly. You know how she hasn’t been feeling super great—
Kensi: Oh my god, she’s pregnant! I knew she didn’t eat bad sushi.
Deeks: Yep, tell-tale sign.
Callen: You two are very annoying.

Wallace ‘Willie’ Delaney
“I like Willie! He’s got a good head on his shoulders and he knows how to talk folks into buyin’ his papes. Boy, he knows how to talk. I betcha he learned from his old man, Willie mentioned he was in business or somethin’. He ain’t a chatterbox like Tweety, but he’s still a good guy. But he’s always worryin’ ‘bout the rules and gettin’ caught. He’s only sixteen, why’s he always worryin’? Its like he’s done forgotten how to be a kid..” - Racetrack Higgins, 1899
Tweety’s older brother and all he has left.
Age: 16
Gender: Male (he/him)
Sexuality: Bisexual (slight male preference +🚪)
MBTI: ISTJ
Family: Charles Delaney (father; deceased), Anna Delaney (mother; deceased), Roy ‘Tweety’ Delaney (younger brother)
Backstory: Willie was verge close to his parents growing up, and he was ecstatic to get a baby brother. When he was little, Willie was a very carefree little boy, not worrying about hardly anything. He was also very energetic, always wanting his parents to play with him. Then along came typhoid fever, which killed both of his parents. Both of their parents had no siblings and they grew up not really knowing their grandparents so Willie and Tweety were basically left with no one but each other. They got placed in a less than ideal orphanage, and this was where Willie began to change. He started to worry about a lot more things than he used to, like if him and Tweety were going to be able to eat tonight, whats going to happen when they get too old to live in the orphanage, just so many things that he didn’t even have to think about before all of this. Then he met Mr. Klopmann. He had taken up a job shining shoes, and he met Klopmann through that. As he shined his shoes, Willie purposely mentioned that the orphanage him and Tweety were living in didn’t exactly offer the best conditions and that his shoe shining job doesn’t pay that well. He mentioned how he wants to give Tweety a nice place to sleep for change, where he doesn’t have to cuddle up to him for warmth because their sheets are too small. And that was all it took for Klopmann to offer that Willie come work as a newsboy and stay in the boarding house, and Willie also managed to get him to agree that Tweety could come too and start working (“the younger ones sell the most papes, right?”) and they’ve been in the boarding house ever since.
Hobbies/interests: Reading, stargazing (sometimes he just likes climbing up to the roof at night and staring up at the sky..), greek mythology (he grew up reading the books in his dad’s office, and his dad would tell slightly simplified versions of the stories to him as bedtime stories), space (mainly constellations)
Hair: Blonde
Eyes: Brown
Faceclaim: young! Callen McAuliffe

“Tweety, don’t you even think about it-! GET DOWN FROM THERE-”
Dynamics
Jack: They get along well, and Willie secretly looks up to him a lot. He is, after all, the closest thing Willie has to a big brother other than Ace.
David: They’re very similar in personality, so they get along well. They bond over being both interested in greek mythology and history (you can pry history and Greek mythology nerd David from my cold dead hands idc)
Racetrack: They get along well, but Racetrack likes to mess with him due to him sometimes being so uptight, but its all in good fun. Its playful back and forth.
Les: Willie is glad Tweety has someone who’s as talkative as he is. Les is a good kid, and him and Tweety have fun with each other.
Spot: These two are.. Interesting. They really enjoy each other’s company, and they have a rooftop that they like to meet up on. On that rooftop, they talk for hours, joke around (Willie finds himself very relaxed around Spot), and stare up at the stars. They’ve told each other things that Spot has never told anyone and that Willie hasn’t even told David or even Tweety. But Willie knows it won’t last. He knows its only a matter of time before they “grow up” and Willie finds a wife to settle down with… But he doesn’t ever want that to happen.. Not if it means losing these moments with Spot.. Oh, and Spot calls him ‘Wally’ (which is a proper nickname for him, because Willie is more of a nickname for the name William- Race came up with it idk-) but none of the other newsies do. They can tell it’s something special.
#newsies oc#willie delaney#TWEETY’S OLDER BROTHER IS HEREEE#AND HE HAS A SITUATIONSHIP WITH SPOT CONLON#well- not exactly-#ITS COMPLICATED OKAY-#ITS A RELATIONSHIP THEY BOTH KNOW THEY HAVE BUT WON’T SAY ANYTHING TO EACH OTHER ABOUT AND THEY KNOW THE OTHER KNOWS

Matt always does good interviews. He asked Chris more about his character and some other things, but Chris was tight-lipped and not sure what he could or couldn't say -- confirmed what we already know. He added that they haven't started filming yet so he can't really give you a "feel" of the character yet. Nashville will be new to him, but he knows people there and is excited to go.
He did say that he was different from Callen in a few ways, and it sounds like where Callen stays "in his shell" Don does not.
Apparently he knew Todd had been on the Mothership, but hadn't actually watched the episode yet nor heard about the reveals. "Oh, I'm having a baby?" And then said that it was at least a good sign that he and Anna were still married.
Hetty came up, and he mentioned that a few NCIS: LA people (not sure all who) actually tried to pitch for a TV Movie a little bit after the show ended, but CBS didn't bite.
So, yes, the interview seemed NCIS: LA heavy, but hey, there's only so much about the new show right now.
Jessica Capshaw's interview also revealed her character is named Blythe (so I guess Brad Falchuk is giving his mother-in-law a shoutout < my commentary). She is in the horse-racing business, not emergency services of any kind.
Also, the Chris interview video had issues for me at TVLine, so this is the direct YouTube link for it.
#chris o'donnell#ncis la#because it's related#911: nashville#911: nv#still have no idea which tags to use#i see new ones crop up all the time
