We, as angbang community, really should talk about Carcharoth more.

Mairon gifted Melkor one of Draugluin’s puppies to guard him in his absence, and also to serve as a reminder of his loyal lieutenant, and it is very, very sweet. Melkor raising the pup himself, and when he feeds him, pets him, strokes his fur, he sighs and thinks of Mairon, counting the days until his return.

But it's also Melkor waking up after the theft of the Silmaril, realizing that not only is one of his prized gems gone, but the pup he had grown so attached to is missing too… and he still has no idea where Mairon is.

The wolves had a tale of a great wolf who ate a star. The star was so bright and beautiful and alive and the great wolf thought he could took its light and keep it for himself.

The star burnt him from inside and burnt his heart burnt his blood burnt his mind

He ran and ran running away from the pain inside his body from the star burning him alive

He ate elves he ate man he ate orcs he ate animals he ate grass and barks he was hollow inside he was hungry and he wanted water

He tried to drink from springs but the water burned his flesh so he tried to drink blood but no blood would satisfy the star

He passed across a forbidden border maybe the border took pity on his pain he arrived in this land of beauty and peace where he was hunted and slain

The elves cut open his stomach and the star was there

The wolf wanted the star and the star hated the wolf

WIP Silmarillion October Challenge (2024)

A cropped preview of several concepts I was working on back in October. It was a personal October art challenge for myself to draw villains or "Terrors of Middle Earth" (a challenge I originally tried to do back in 2018).

In a way it helped me ease myself back into drawing Silm designs again. I'll share the full images sometime when I have more time to work on them.
