ever after high post-graduation headcanons

daring doesn't look in mirrors anymore. or at his reflection at all, really. at most, he allows himself five seconds to check if something's in his teeth before he heads out for the day. it's easier that way. his siblings, lizzie, apple or anyone close to him will tell him if he looks off. he trusts their judgement.

cerise likes to keep her hair short nowadays. mostly so nothing can hide her ears anymore. she reaches less and less for hooded clothes too. feeling the wind brush her ears is one of the most calming things she's ever felt.

ashlynn always schedules a 'do nothing day' at least every few weeks. no shifts at the shoe stores, no chores to be done, no volunteer or charity work, not even checking her phone or replying to messages. she feels like she's enjoying a moment of rest that her mom and all the previous cinderellas never got.

apple's hair never stays the same color for more than a month. after being told her entire life that her hair was the wrong color, she finally lets those comments roll off her back like water. she's one of poppy and holly's best customers. she also removes the royal ranking app on her phone and deletes most of her mom's messages.

briar makes sure she's at every important milestone that her brothers have. birthdays, graduations, accomplishments. she's there with a camera and the biggest smile on her face. she'll never forget those nights spent crying at how she thought she wouldn't be awake to celebrate with them.

raven goes out and sees the world. she thought she'd spend the rest of her life being imprisoned like her mother was in the mirror realm. some of her trips are visits to more of wonderland with maddie, climbs up to the land of giants with tiny and jillian, dives to the underwater world with meeshell, even goes to the monster world with cupid. raven's got legend by her side, magic at her fingertips and the world to see. she's never felt more free. ever after will still be there for her when she's done.

I just realized yesterday that Ever After High missed a golden opportunity for a great running gag by having the child of The Boy Who Cried Wolf trying to out Cerise as a wolfgirl but nobody believes them cause of their story.

One of the things that makes Ever After High so amazing is how every character, main or side, has their own complicated story.

Obviously we have Raven not wanting to follow her destiny because she doesn't want to be evil, and Apple wanting a secure and safe future because she's scared of the unknown and wants to meet her mother's expectations

But at the same time, we also have characters like Briar Beauty, who, on the outside, may seem like she has her life all straightened out and is the life of the party, but in reality, she's so terrified of having to sleep for a hundred years that she is determined to live every day to the fullest so that she doesn't have to think about her grim fate.

Ashlynn Ella, who's desperately in love with Hunter, but they are just not meant to be, at least according to the book.

Duchess Swan, who, behind the mean girl facade, just wants a happily ever after, and is determined to do anything to get one.

Darling Charming, who is not content with being a damsel in distress and basically has a double life so that she can be a hero.

CA Cupid, who helps everyone around her find love, yet is stuck crushing on a boy who doesn't like her back.

Lizzie Hearts, who has so much love in her heart and misses her mother and homeland so so so much, but hides her true feelings behind her harsh exterior.

Cerise Hood, who's guarding her family secret with her life.

Kitty Cheshire, who pranks others just so she could have her mother's approval.

Blondie Lockes, who just wants to fit in with her fellow royals, so she's constently trying to prove herself, however much of a gossip she may be.

And there are so many more characters who each have their own story. Their own tale to tell. And that's what makes Ever After High one of the best shows ever.
