did y’all just not read R’s POV before they jump off the balcony?? the desperation they feel to stay relevant. the total willingness to put the amusement and adoration of strangers before their own well-being. the detail about how they won’t even allow themselves to look for MC because they know what they’re doing is stupid and dangerous but they just HAVE to do it. their self-worth is completely tangled up in their fame.

it’s wrong, it’s misguided - but it’s not evil. it’s complex. it’s devastating. it’s showing us that the mistakes R makes / is going to make don’t come from a place of wanting to cause others pain or even being indifferent to that pain - it comes from a place of trying to relieve their OWN pain. “hurt people hurt people” and all that.

it’s such a brief POV but it packs a serious punch. it reveals so much about R’s character and the motivations for their choices going forward. it’s excellent writing and, if you didn’t understand it, that is completely your loss.

Hello Fables! MC'S choice to "let go" can It been seen as soft core Revenge 🤣? Like MC can't hurt their mom but leaving her behind alone without any money to live and drink, possibly in prison is a sort of revenge?

Btw if she doesn't die in "our" world, what happens to her, will we see her again?

Honestly, that’s not a bad thought at all. But I feel like, with that moment being deeply rooted in the MC’s "real world", both the MC and the reader would naturally assume they’re dying—completely drained after years of taking care of their mother. They wouldn’t realize what kind of frying pan they’re stepping into until their soul has already crossed over.

Still, I really like the idea. It’s a solid concept, so I’m definitely going to notate it in my plot points just in case it fits into the bigger picture later on.

Leaving Caitlyn to suffer the consequences of her actions would be deliciously satisfying 🥴. I mean, she’d be living like a walking corpse—haunted, guilt clinging to her. That same guilt would probably push her to get clean faster, maybe even get her life together.

But… oh, I have bigger plans for Caitlyn. I simply cannot leave her behind. 😈

As for what happened to her after the MC died—here’s a little sneak peek. Spoilers ahead, but… shhh, tell no one.

No Toon Shelly would probably never do that, not unless Teagan asks her to for some odd reason. She'd be very awkward about it, very careful with it too, and probably tomato faced from embarrassment. She's not usually one to do stunts like this, she's only doing it as a twisted because she can't hold a cup to her mouth anymore - tiny t-rex arm syndrome hit her :(

Toon Vee absolutely does eventually overcome her fear of TVs, through many cuddle sessions with her momma and lots of exposure therapy. Veronica was with her for every step of the process, holding her hand and never once letting go until she was good enough to try on her own. Veronica is the main reason she gets over it, especially after being told why she believed that she would be a tv when she was a little toon and being apologized to for the misunderstanding. She only wanted her momma there too, Shelly and Shanon obviously would've helped, but Vee declined it. She felt like it was something Veronica should've helped her with, and she did! :]

Do you get that? Does she get that? Bradley is here. He is living and breathing and you both are hurting him.” Scoffing, Mav rolled his eyes as Tom continued on. “Do you have any idea what your actions almost did? You both almost drove him away! I’ve had to stop Bradley from running off to do it all on his own three, three goddamn times! And I’m the only one who’s shown him even an ounce of support, Pete, and he still keeps trying to run off and do it all on his own because he thinks he can’t trust me!”

What I was meant to be feeling the first time I laid eyes upon you.” Snapping his mouth shut, he turns his gaze away from Jake to stare down at the floor. Scoffing, Jake huffs at his half thought out explanation. But before he could open his mouth to call him on it, Bradley continued on. “I was raised knowing I would have a courtesan. I knew what that all entailed,” he powered on. “But then…but then I saw you. I saw who would be mine and I lost my damn mind. I know I did. I broke tradition because I could not bear the thought of anyone but me guarding you until you were officially mine.” Jake flinched back, eyes going wide in surprise as he stared at Bradley. “What? What do you mean broke tradition"?”

“Sweetheart, come here,” the voice calls, soft and soothing and like a balm to the raw nerve Jake’s worked himself up into being. “That’s right baby, I got you, okay? Just listen to me, okay, Jake?” He thinks he nods or maybe he mumbles out a yes or noise of agreement. He’s not sure, not really but what he does know is that suddenly he’s not pressed against the cold unyielding side of his tub or bathroom floor. Suddenly he’s pressed against warmth.  Wrapped up in it really. In warmth and love and feeling like he’s once again tethered to something. But that can’t be right, Jake thinks, because he’s not supposed to be wrapped up in warmth and love.  Because he doesn’t deserve that after what he did to Bradley.
