The Minister highlighted that Altman appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for AI, emphasizing the government’s goal to democratize technology for all. “Had super cool discussion with @sama on our strategy of creating the entire AI stack – GPUs, model, and apps. Willing to collaborate with India on all three,” Vaishnaw posted. He added that Altman lauded PM Modi’s commitment to technology and the country’s forward-looking approach. Altman, who is also the owner of ChatGPT, emphasized the significance of India as a major player in the AI market, noting that it is the company’s second-largest market globally. “AI models are still not cheap, but they are doable. In line with the growing focus on AI, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the creation of three Centres of Excellence (CoEs) for AI in the Union Budget.
