Believe it or not, it's our first at Genki Sushi and we were satisfied. 😋 Except for the fried stuff maybe.. surprisingly hard unlike usual tempura 🤷🏻‍♀️ Prices are not at all cheap, a single Hana Salmon is $4.20 but it came with 3 slices of salmon sashimi and it's really nicer to have just 1 instead of stuffing 3, not having enough tummy space to try other yummies, we find ourselves accepting the price tag in the end... The rice portion is smaller than other places we'd been to which we prefer and the ratio to the fish (or whatever 料) is just nice. Since we ride, it's my first outing without donning a mask at all. But BECAUSE we ride, I would rather have my mask on. 😷 😅 Mr. Cheekie got a few recommendations on this food centre but they are all closed today! So we tried some old school YTF and prata instead. I haven't had YTF for less than $4 since forever. The taste is ok de, not too salty or chalky from any weird broth, just good old YTF. Prata and its curry was yummy.. Cannot turn down a hubby's invitation for hotpot despite the insanely hot weather. 🤤 It's likely the first time we have anything other than the usual set and have another protein other than chicken there. The export ban on fresh chicken from M'sia really affects us a lot more than we thought. We hope the normal set returns soon. It's the curated balanced meal which sets this place apart from the other hotpot place for us. And this initial differentiation made visits here kinda special, we always order the same thing, have them the same way, and before long, see and get to know the same servers. Omg this Samyang Prawn Carbonara is so good~ & We got it 1-for-1 for $11.50. Whhaaat??? It's Mr. Cheekie's off-day and he was craving for pasta, his other off-day was already occupied full of errands so I don't really wanna go out unless necessary. We recently moved and couldn't find the old pastaria we were familiar with so this is really our first. Wow, it's so flavourful but not cloying.
