1. rewrite another try | louis/lestat, loustat & claudia, claudia/madeleine, rated E
my favorite and longest fic i've written so far! inspired by the movie 'ticket to paradise,' louis and lestat are divorced and hate each other, but they work together to stop claudia's wedding. had a blast writing the arguments (of which there are MANY!) lots of fun and lots of fluffy unholy family moments
2. back to you, love | louis/lestat, rated E
post-season 2, following louis and lestat as they navigate being together/being apart while interspersed with news articles detailing lestat's world tour. this was a fucking BEAST to write from the song lyrics to the concert outfits that i spent days scouring the runway websites for... PHEW!
3. i have mail, from you | louis/lestat, rated M
my second venture into the romcom AU universe, based on 'you've got mail!' louis is an independent bookstore owner and lestat owns the company trying to close his store. i took a huge departure from the movie with this one, so if you don't like a certain plot point, you might enjoy this! i also have to shout out cherhorowitz8's YGM fic. cher is THE romcom icon and their fics are basically the only reason i started writing. romcom aus will save us all, truly.
4. you should stay all my life | louis/lestat, rated E
my first IWTV fic! idk where i'd be without it! it's based on 'notting hill,' where louis is a bookstore owner (my fave job for him apparently) and lestat is a famous movie star. very love at first sight for both parties and full tooth-rotting fluff.
5. untitled WIP | louis/lestat, rated E (probably)
okay, i only have 4 fics on my ao3, but i'm loving the fic i'm writing rn and i had to say something about it! it's much darker than my other ones with a lot of discussion of drug use and suicidal thoughts, so a fair warning now! a basic synopsis is that lestat is a globally acclaimed rockstar and louis is his #1 hater. it's loosely based on a DCOM (very loosely) and i'm on ch. 4 out of approx. 10-12. its taking everything in me to not publish it now because i'm sooooo excited about it!
i would tag people but i'm still very new to the whole sharing my fics on tumblr so i don't have many fic writer mutuals. if you see this and want to share yours, please do!! 🫶🫶

Six years ago, I went to the most magical concert of my life.
Cher has always been one of my favorite artists, and why wouldn't she be? A power ballad diva with a disco/techno vibe? One of the most iconic voices of all time? Outfits always on point? Plus she's as funny as all get out too.
My best friend and I were going to see her, even though we were broke young adults. We were in the nose-bleediest of the nose bleeds, but we were excited anyway. Before the show, we went thrifting to build perfectly Cher-ical concert outfits. Me in a purple crushed velvet croptop, chiffon skirt with silver detailing, and fishnets, and he in an artsy shirt with Cher's face on it he just happened to find, and every shiny piece of jewelry he could muster.
As we walked arms-linked into the venue and took several escalators to our section, we noticed a man strangely following us. It was unnerving. We just figured he happened to be seated near us. When we finally arrived, the group of older women sitting behind us clucked some hellos and then continued their conversation about how bad the seats are.
We hadn't settled into a seats fully when the man from before walked into the row in front of us and turned to say something.
"You look like big Cher fans."
"Y-yes?" My friend replied nervously. Oh course we were, we were at her concert, weren't we?
"How would you like to see her front row?"
We traded stunned expressions.
"I'm her tour manager," the man said. He took two tickets from out of his pocket. "We have two empty seats up there and it would be great if you could fill them."
Now this felt like some Princess Diaries bullshit. I don't think we believed him, but we followed him down to where the seats were... inches from the stage.
"Have fun," he said nonchalantly as he passed off the tickets. As if he didn't just literally hand us the night of our lives.
Needless to say, the concert was incredible. Cher is a very theatrical and high-energy performer with great crowd work and cool sets. We were on our feet, singing and dancing the entire night. I remember saying to my friend, "I want to look like that when I am 70." To which he responded, "I want to look like that now."
So the moral of the story is, if you love an artist, always go all-out on your concert outfit. You never know who will notice/appreciate your enthusiasm.

OC Fact of the Day

Starring: Elex Parker
Today I figured since we launched my new sexy angry bottom boy, Elex, I’d drop a little fact about him to get the ball rolling!
Elex is really, really, really, secretly, super obsessed with Cher and Lady Gaga, but he would never tell a single soul, not even his boyfriend. He thinks if he openly tells people he’s a fan of either, they’ll clock him for being fruity. 💅🏻 (he’s been to three Gaga concerts :x tickets he got for free by scaring/threatening resellers into giving him one or he’d kick their ass)

my thoughts on basic pop music...
Hi, I’m a music journalist and DJ and I listen to Ed Sheeran.
Dominic Fike was my top artist last year. Multiple Panic! At The disco songs often find themselves in my Spotify wrapped. I was disappointed when I didn’t secure my Olivia Rodrigo tickets and I went to a Billie Eilish concert last weekend.
I have always had a soft spot for popular music. I’d like to blame working in the restaurant industry since I was 16. Maybe I’ve Stockholmed myself into the Billboard’s Top 100 after hearing the same 12 songs on rotation on a double shift. Tuning into “Mercy” by Shawn Mendes blasting over the loudspeaker while tuning out the baby whining at table 16 is seemingly justifiable.
But I know the restaurant isn’t the only reason I keep those songs in my back pocket. Going out of my way to open my own Spotify, search, queue up, then listen to it from the beginning to end might be a slight indication I just like the song no matter how I spin it.
Apparently, though, if you want to be cool ( not that’s something I’ve EVER thought about ever!!! or considered … ever… cause that would be so uncool of me……..), carrying those songs into your personal music repertoire is frowned upon by everyone else who’s screen time is 7 hours and 6 of them are on Pinterest.
But in a moment I can only explain as immaculate and holy, I pushed forward on my typical Friday morning expedition which is rush-waking to my 9:45 a.m. Finance 365 class at 9:47 a.m. I put on my beloved “joce dotcom” bedazzled headphones and pressed play. “You wanna play, you wanna stay, you want to have it all” flew into my ears so abrasively I almost fell over. There was no way I could have predicted that 2014 hit “Really Don’t Care” by pop-sensations Demi Lovato and Cher Lloyd was going to play but this reality was made possible by the remnants of a classic college Thursday night. The “ULTIMATE BAD B****** PRE GAME” playlist pulled from the Spotify search results blessed me with this opportunity
As I nearly skipped along to class clearly enjoying myself and the song playing the impending doom set in as I realized this was going to be spotted on my AirPods.
The thought alone is silly enough to send my ancestors rolling in their graves. Bloodlines survived wars, oppressions and setbacks, for me, Homo sapien circa 2004, to be worried about “Earbuds”.
So, as Demi and Cher said, I really don’t care. And you shouldn’t either. Let the others restrict themselves from belting out all the lyrics at the house party, from other people singing along to their Wingos karaoke pick, and from not being able to just like a song just because they like it and not because someone else told them it was cool.
You do not have to feel bullied by the cigarette-toting, Marni-wearing Brooklyn micro-influencer you met at a party that one time last April to share your Spotify Wrapped knowing they will immediately call out that more than 7 people and the local rodeo horse listen to the songs you listen to. Next time someone laughs at your music taste on a first date, get up and leave! If your partner tells you they would break up with you if they caught you listening to Taylor Swift just break up with them first! Trust me, do the things I was never strong enough to do.
Take it from me, I scout at a company focused on magnifying new voices in the music industry and i’m the DEI director for WVAU where part of my job function is to make sure our music sounds “fresh” and diverse. You would assume I have a diversity quota to fill with the amount of songs I listen to with less than 1k listens but that doesn’t change that “Drops of Jupiter” by Train is a good song.
Free yourself, listen for the sake of listening

I don't realy like Taylor Swift
I don't realy like Taylor Swift I like Dolly Parton, Cher, Kylie Minogue. Dolly is hilarious, Cher is down to earth, Kylie is the cutest thing around. I always get good vibes from them but I’ve often gotten bad vibes from Taylor. She seems to take herself very seriously. She’s not a tortured poet, she’s not Shakespeare, she’s a songwriter. She writes catchy tunes that sell very well. Isn’t that enough ?It’s tedious how she often seems to put a lot of effort into controlling what people think of her. Is she a politician or a pop singer ?I don’t like how Swifties are always out to get anyone who remotely criticizes her. I’ve never seen one agree with a negative critic.I don’t like how so many of her songs come down to a story about her. It’s egocentric to write songs that mainly revolve around you. When people listen to old songs, they don’t remember every excrutiating detail of the private life of the singer, they remember what their own life was like when they used to listen to that song. Her latest album is far too long to listen to for anyone who’s not a fan. Who has the time to listen to 31 songs ?I won’t be buying tickets to one of her concerts. I don’t wanna give her my money. She has enough. She’s a greedy billionaire who’s polluting the planet and doesn’t really care about it. Submitted April 24, 2024 at 02:02PM by Stock-Session8730 https://ift.tt/zw7kNPd via /r/Music

Bilan lecture
Papa Hemingway (A.E. Hotchner)
Le dernier ermite (Michael Finkel)
Knulp (Hermann Hesse)
Mick, sex and rock'n'roll (Christopher Andersen)
Marchands d'art (Daniel Wildenstein, Yves Stavrides)
Vous me croirez si vous voulez (Professeur Choron, Jean-Marie Gourio)
Please kill me (Legs McNeil, Gillian McCain)
Le passant du Bowery (Clément Ghys)
Mémoires d'un nomade (Paul Bowles)
Woody Allen (John Baxter)
Rockambolesque (Sacha Reins)
Van Gogh (Steven Naifeh, Gregory White Smith)
Autoportrait (Helmut Berger)

wondering how u feel about this one
Haha unlike Cher Horowitz, Quinn is legitimately a mean girl. It takes until season five before she'll publicly admit Daria's her sister ("Lucky Strike"). Until then, she says she's her cousin or her "cabana girl's adopted cousin". A particularly funny one is in the s2 episode "I Don't", where they're both bridesmaids in their cousin Erin's wedding and they're asked if they're Erin's cousins and Quinn says, "Actually, I'm her cousin but Daria's, um, her cousin…"
She also has a passive-aggressive mean girls style friendship with Sandi (which is mostly caused by Sandi herself, who's the meanest of the Fashion Club, but, still, Quinn's vicious). Sandi's the real mean girl of the show but I doubt she's on the poll nor should she be as she's not a main character. And if we're going with like the movie Mean Girls/just a queen bitch character, Quinn is obviously the queen. She even ultimately wins at the end of their fight in "Daria Dance Party".
She also is a total girlboss gaslight gatekeep QUEEN when it comes to guys, not really liking any guy for real but uses them to get concert tickets, meals, access to lakehouses/ski cabins, carry her stuff, get her sodas at parties, teach her to drive...she manipulates every guy around her. And when she thinks her mom is implying she's immature because she doesn't have a boyfriend, she literally just cycles through Jamie, Joey, and Jeffy with no regard for their feelings (but is egged on by Daria) ("One J at a Time").
And there are a ton of little moments, like her trying to raise money to get plastic surgery - which results in a monologue where she basically says if she's not the most beautiful she has no idea who she'd be - and tries to get Andrea (the goth chick, as she tends to be called) to give her money by saying she's doing it in solidarity for women everywhere ("Too Cute").
So while she's a mean girl, I obviously find it hard to say, "oh she's a mean girl" because I'm very emotionally attached to her and, god, just thinking of her little monologue in "Monster" about how she thinks being popular is like the only thing she's good at, but she clearly thinks it's not important in the end of things...She's a lot more than just the usual stereotypical mean girl.
But I obviously voted for her and hope she gets far. But I'm not sure enough people on tumblr know her to help her get there.
