i’m currently sick (with the flu) and while drifting off in the arms of probable death or something i dreamt this up. so. here

my reasoning for this is that i think jason is very insecure. very brash on surface level but if you get closer you’ll realise how much of a baby he is,,

so let’s say he had a really tough patrol. like his eyes are drooping and it’s the middle of winter and his bones seem to protest his every move. he grits his teeth, peeling sweat-slick gear off and tossing it in his office before clicking the shower (barely tall enough for him) up to its hottest setting. It barely stops his shivering so he calls it a lost cause and instead gets to wrapping his (numerous, but few!) wounds by himself in the bathroom.

he's dead on his feet by the time he pulls on a pair of his coziest sweatpants and flops onto the bed, only to earn a grunt from- you. laying on your stomach on your side of the bed, and honestly, how could he have forgotten that you moved in with him, like, half a year ago? he blinks blearily at you and watches as you reach out and turn on the nightstand lamp, twisting around to look at him.

the first thing you notice is how pathetic he looks. those pretty green eyes are wet, scarred lips tiredly frowning, damp hair sticking up. you huff a laugh before moving onto your back, reaching out and grasping his wrist, pulling him towards you.

there's hesitation in his eyes but he lets it happen, shuffling over and resting his head on your chest, throwing a lazy arm over your midsection. your arms find space over his shoulders, but otherwise, you're completely overshadowed by his 6'3 frame, which… kind of scares him. he's big and muscular and if he wanted to, he could, like, suffocate you. or something. not that he wants to- no, he loves you and he thinks you're the perfect person, but managing these… scary, accidental thoughts by himself is tiring.

so he whispers to you. something inane, just to make him focus on something else- anything else. and you tell him about how the tree in front of your workplace is finally blooming because it's late april in jersey and everything's finally waking up, and you drone on about the neighbour's gardening plans or something. it's enough to comfort him and he eventually drifts off into sleep.

You know there's something about Noel/Charlie that kept standing out to me the longer he was on screen (I'll be fully honest. It took me a while to get the appeal of his character but I get it now/hj) and it's just? This weird tangible feeling of relief I got whenever he interacted with Arthur and John? And I couldn't place why but something about their interactions felt comforting. And then I heard Arthur joke about his blindness with Noel and then it clicked and I realised the reason why their whole relationship feels like oddly freeing and like a lot of tension releasing is because Arthur's spent the whole (20+ hour long 😭) series up to this point hiding such several big fundamental parts of himself (John's whole existence, his real name the fact he's blind, or even the fact he's a murderer) from almost everyone he meets and it's just nice to see him and John be openly themselves around someone (who isn't Kayne and who they actually chose to tell willingly) for once.

Went to a ceramic painting session with my friend and absolutely had to make it GO themed.

After ditching the idea of doing two different Tartan styles on each side of my piece (one Crowley, one Azira coded) (because have you tried drawing straight lines on bowls???), I had the lunatic idea to draw something free hand.

Spoiler alert: I have 0 drawing skills.

Still think the result turned out rather nice 😇
