So I’m at the end of Chapter 9
I have grown very found of Jinart. (Even if I don’t completely trust her)
Etain is an emotional rather intelligent person. Very pragmatic, also very prone to doubt herself. Not sure if rightfully so, but my guess would be that she can be a lot better if she had a Master with some different tendencies to Kast Fulier.
The amount of emotional loaded conversations in this book has at least dubbed over the last three chapters.
#I think darman is going to be good for Etain#not in any romatical sense#more as just a person to be around#she is maybe going to make his live a lot harder by handling him a lot more as a person than he has been until now#by someone that isn't one of his brothers#i do not See that as a net negative#just think there are going to be people that won't be happy with her forcefully making herself more human to him#and handling him with the care she has given so far#if you ignore her short breakdown#she let him have all her food pretty early on#after she found out that he didn't really get any real food before#repcomm#star wars republic commando#reading repcomm#republic commando#republic commando: hard contact

star wars masterlist || pinned post

With each forceful blow against the metallic wall, crimson smudges spread on it as I pull back my bloody fists with a frustrated growl. Yet, it remains useless.
Two months have passed since my confinement within this… cage . Survival wasn't on my agenda when I was apprehended; I anticipated an immediate execution upon boarding the imperial shuttle, or perhaps even before that. I was barely conscious when electric currents surged through my veins from the net, though it would’ve been a far more pleasant death. However, fate had other plans for me, which led me to Mount Tantiss.
Beyond the confines of my cell, the research facility's interior remains a mystery to me, save for the long hallway. Only scientists or the occasional presence of a commando trooper disrupts the solitude. According to intercepted radio transmissions I’ve picked up on, I'm kept in a highly secure sector, impervious even to a Jedi's escape. And right they are.
Resting my forehead against the cold surface, the weight of the safety collar around my neck feels suffocating. Attempts to remove it are met with searing shocks, rendering me powerless.
Approaching footsteps outside my cell trigger my fight or flight senses, my focus sharpening on the cell door. But as Dr. Karr stands before, me, unlocking the cell door with a scan of her hand, a sense of familiarity offers a semblance of solace, even despite her corrupt work field. Her arrival is accompanied by a young girl, a recurring visitor whose name has remained unknown to me so far. We’ve never spoken before aside from the occasional glances yet whenever I look away, I can feel her big brown eyes linger on me sadly.
Without instruction, I rise to my feet. I’m familiar with the routine by now. As the gap between us narrows, Dr. Karr's speaks up, “Your name?”
I bite my tongue, suppressing my irritation. “[Name],” I snap, pulling myself together, “same thing is was yesterday, and the day before that, and the day before that.” Dr. Karr
types something into her datapad.
The little girl's gaze lingers, conveying a silent empathy beyond her years. Dr. Karr continues her tiring tests. “Count.”
I take a deep breath before rattling off the first few numbers in the speed of light when she loudly interrupts me with a cough. “Slowly.” I furrow my brows.
“5.”
“6.”
“7.”
“8.”
“Fuck.”
“Off.”
She lets out a deep sigh through her nose, taking down her notes. Then, she lowers the datapad. “Dr. Hemlock will be with you shortly.” And with that, she abruptly leaves as she always does.
Exhaustion weighs heavily on me as I rub my face, emitting a weary sigh. Yet, the sensation of being scrutinized persists. Then, unexpectedly, a soft voice breaks the silence. “Here.” I reluctantly pull back my hands to find the young girl, still present in my cell, offering a handmade tooka doll. I examine the creature made of straw and elastic ties, hesitantly taking it from her.
"She comforts me when I'm lonely... I thought you might need her too," she explains gently, her sincerity palpable.

Self care and Witchcraft!
Goddess bath glamour spell!
Bathing rituals have forever been around in the craft. Self care is very important when practicing your magic, especially in glamour. You want to be tidy and clean, this helps with keeping your mind at ease focused and refreshed. Water is potent in our lives as human beings and it spiritually cleanses us. In this spell we are going to focus on building our energy in the most relaxing way possible.
Ingredients/What you will need
PSA❗️Slight mentions of nudity❗️As you gather and set up your bath, you want to have some music going, it can be any type you want . I recommend some happy calming upbeat sensual music. Get as comfortable as possible. You want to have this kind of strong and peaceful energy out there as you set your bath up. Say some intentions while as you’re filling up your tub, putting things in there and lighting candles.
Roses/Lily/Marigold/Sunflower (You do not have to use all of these flowers you can use either one of them individually or together)
1/2 Cup of Epsom salts
1/4 Cup of Himalayan pink salts
Whole dried lavender/rosemary/eucalyptus (You do not have to use all of these herbs, you can use either one of them individually or together)
Three drops of ylang Yang essential oil and three drops of jasmine oil
Tablespoon of Florida water or Moon water
Pink or purple amethyst, clear quartz, citrine and tigers eye (You do not have to use all of these crystals, I recommend getting any of the amethyst and the clear quartz, you can use all if you want too)
Figurines or Statues of Goddesses (I recommend Aphrodite,Oshun,Isis,Lilith,Gaia,Hecate,Yemaya. You can even get pictures of these goddesses and set them by the bath, tape them on the shower wall. If you don’t have any of these figurines you can use figurines or pictures of mermaids, water nymphs, forest fairies ect)
Pink/white/red/purple/blue/yellow candles (You do not have to use all of these candles, if you have a small bath tub having one candle is fine, be careful with fire, tea candles work well too and it’s a bit more contained) (I recommend Pink,Red,Yellow, or White candles)
Exfoliating net,luffa, or wash rag
What to do!
Now your energy is flowing all around! As it should be, this is your safe space. You can wear a bikini or go full commando either way is fine. When you get in the tub you can just bask in it. Sit back and relax, move around, let the water get a feel of you. Start washing yourself with the water and state your petitions or you can state some invocations. To spice it up a bit more you can get a handheld mirror and do the glamour spell I posted the other day.
Whatever you do you want to make this about you. If you wanna cleanse yourself and let go then let go, if you need a fixer upper, any kind of pick me up then pick yourself up. You have control over what you make your magic. Make it beautiful. When you’re done drain the tub and thank the goddesses, universe or yourself. Whomever you want. Give out that gratitude. Blessed be!

8th December 1987: The Scottish Land Court ordered the English owner of the Hebridean Island of Soay to sell more than half the island to a crofter who had lived there for more than 41 years.
Born in 1919, Joseph "Tex" Geddes - typically, he claimed he was given his nickname by a Red Indian fellow commando.
By his own account, he was born in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, and taken to Canada by his father when he was two, following a trivial altercation with the police. Others maintain he was raised by an aunt, the youngest of three fighting brothers, in Easter Ross, and never went to Canada in his life. His neighbours in nearby Skye believed that he hailed from Australia.
In the book Hebridean Sharker Tex Geddes describes his exploits during the 1950s as a hunter of basking sharks in the waters of the Minch, between the Inner and Outer Hebrides. Using an adapted whaling harpoon, he and his crew stalked these huge fish often in perilous conditions, the liver of which is a valuable source of oil.
Always a maverick, before World War Two Geddes had been a boxer and a rumrunner to Newfoundland. During the war he established a reputation as an expert knife-thrower and bayonet fencer and served in the Special Forces with fellow hebridean Gavin Maxwell (author of Ring of Bright Water), and was a central character in Maxwell's Harpoon at a Venture
He combined the hazardous pursuit of sharks with crewing the local lifeboat, ring-net fishing, lobstering, deer-stalking and salmon poaching.
Thesubject of previous posts, historian of Gaelic culture Margaret Fay Shaw said of him: "Tex was a great storyteller and important as such. He was also immensely kind, and had that hunger for life and fun that is essential if you are to make a go of living in these islands. The Hebrides needs more people like Tex Geddes. So does the world
He went on to purchase the tiny island of Soay, where he lived with his wife Jeanne, Geddes continued fishing basking sharks, selling unprocessed livers rather than processed oil to Glasgow. While much of the remaining population of the island evacuated to Mull in 1953, Geddes and his family remained. Geddes protested at the lack of emergency telephone services and with the threat of loss of postal service to the remaining inhabitants of the island, he asked people to send him registered letters and packages. As a result the service was kept with post arriving once a month.
Today the island has a population of three, and the post arrives once a month. The population peaked at 158 in 1851, following eviction of crofters from Skye in the Clearances.
Tex Geddes, died on 11th April 1998 while returning from a bagpiping competition in the Outer Hebrides

Requesting some more love for Boss please!
Wanted
Summary: You and Boss are on the run from the Empire.
Pairing: Clone Commando Boss x Reader
Word Count: 944
Warnings: None
Tagging: @trixie2023 @n0vqni
A/N: I'm not sure I'm happy with this, but I have a migraine forming, so this is all I have. Sorry.
“Rules are meant to be broken,” You proclaim, as you wave your wrench towards Boss, who stares at you with a single raised brow.
“That thought, cyare, is why you’re wanted on 13 planets.”
“Wrong!” Your wrench slips out of your hand and clatters to the floor of the ship loudly, “That’s because the Empire ain’t shit!”
He rolls his eyes, “Anyway,” Boss says, “Since we can no longer hide on Daiyu-”
“-that isn’t my fault-” You interrupt.
“Since we can’t hide out on Daiyu anymore,” Boss continues as if you hadn’t spoken, “Where should we go next?”
You stoop to pick up your wrench and shove it into its place, “Outer Rim, maybe? Or Wild Space is an option.”
“I was kind of hoping that you would offer a name,” Boss says with a sigh, “But sure, let’s start with Outer Rim worlds, they’re not likely to bend to the Empire.”
You grin at him, and enthusiastically fling your arms around his neck. He sighs but wraps his arms around your waist, “How about Tatooine?”
“Mm. Sand, sun, slaves, and Hutts. My four most favorite things in the galaxy.” Boss says sarcastically.
You laugh, “No one will look for us there.” You tempt.
“Right. Until you somehow piss off the Hutt Cartel and we have to run from both the Empire and the Hutts.”
“You make it sound like I go around insulting people all the time.” You say with a pout.
“You told the Grand Moff to take a long walk off a short pier and then broke his nose, and frankly I’m surprised that you lived to meet me in the first place.”
“I take issue with fascists.” You sniff.
He lightly squeezes your hips, “I need you to chill the fuck out, cyare. I’m looking for my brothers, which I can’t do when we’re being chased from Imperial worlds.”
“So you want me to behave?”
“That would be a nice change from normal.” Boss counters.
You rest your forehead against his chest plate, and then sigh, “Fine. We can hide out on Tatooine, just long enough for the heat to die down, and then we’ll go back to Imperial space and look for Fixer, Scorch, and Sev.”
“Thank you, cyare.” He kisses your forehead and then releases you to head towards the cockpit, “The ship isn’t going to fall apart on me when I try to jump to hyperspace, is it?”
“No! Er…probably not.”
“Try to keep the ship from blowing up on us, please cyare.”
“Yeah, yeah. I’ll do my best.” You turn back to the engines, and open the net to run a quick google search.
While you know how you ended up in this situation (a comedy of errors that started with you getting into a fist fight with someone who used to be part of the 501st and ended with you on the run from the Empire with a former Clone Commando), sometimes you have a hard time comparing what your life used to be to what it’s become.
You were an art student, once. Sure, an art student with anarchist tendencies who was anti government and anti war and went to protests and organized riots from time to time, but you were still an art student.
And now here you are, slowly working your way up the Empires shit list.
Honestly, the best thing that’s happened to you in the last year is meeting Boss.
You glance towards the cockpit, where Boss is removing some of the bulkier pieces of his armor for comfort, and a small smile crosses your face.
Boss just appeared on your doorstep about a year ago. He had been beaten half to death and needed help, and you’re still not sure how he found you, but you’re glad that he did.
You managed to patch him up, and when he admitted that there was something rotten in the former Republic and that he was looking for his brother, you jumped at the chance to help him.
Anything was better than sitting around and watching as Palpatine destroyed everything good and honest and true in the galaxy.
And six months after that, when you were hiding from Imperial soldiers on Dantooine, you kissed him. And he kissed you back. And then he kissed you again and again.
And now here you are, six months later, in a relationship with a man who you never would have met if the Empire hadn’t taken over.
Silver linings, right?
“Cyare? How are we looking?” Boss calls from the cockpit.
“I think we’re good. At least, according to the schematics I’m looking at online.” You say as you step out of the engine room and shut the door behind you.
He glances at you, “Alright. Then grab your seat, and we’ll see if we can’t make it to Tatooine.” You grin and climb into the co-pilot’s seat, tucking your feet under you, you turn your attention on him, and smile adoringly.
“What?”
“Just thinking about how we met.” You reply.
He glances at you, and a small smile crosses his face, “Smartest thing I’ve ever done. Right up there with kissing you on Dantooine and that night on Rishi.”
“You really liked that night on Rishi.” You say with a laugh.
“I liked the outfit you were wearing, and the way you looked under the moonlight,” Boss says easily, “And I really liked the way that you looked at me.”
You laugh and stretch out, “I really liked that night on Rishi too. We should do that more often.”
“Once we’re safe.” Boss promises, he focuses on the navigation computer, “Ready to go, cyare?”
“Ready.”

Mystery kids remake comic pt 16

Mabel pines: Oh my god, hi! You are a perfect little angel. Guys, it's just a trash beaver.
(everyone calmed down except Coraline Jones who was unhappy)
Coraline Jones: If she gets bitten, we won't take her to get a rabies shot.
Dipper pines: Don't worry, she's already had it done.
Norman Babcock: Come on, Coraline. That was a pretty good shot
Coraline Jones: Yes, yes, false alarm.
Dipper pines: Okay, put it back.
(Coraline Jones walks up to Mabel pines and pulls out a net)
Coraline Jones: Finger on the trigger next time, Texas. I don't want any...
(but suddenly an earthquake is heard and all the teams lost a little distance, and a claw appeared in front of him, and then it shows itself, and it was a hellish machine, and inside it was none other than Doctor loboto)
Doctor Loboto: Did you call?
Coraline Jones: Domo arigato, Doctor Loboto
Doctor Loboto: Well, well! What do we have here?Little cavalry with their toy car?
Coraline Jones: LET'S!
(But Doctor loboto grabs the net and breaks the car)
Doctor Loboto: How nice
Wybie Lovat: T-too much for him...
Neil Downe: Don't blame yourself for this
Dipper pines: Something tells me this guy is getting crazier anyway
(Mabel Pines and Coraline Jones dodge and escape while Razputin Aquato and Lili Zanotto turn on the psi-shift)
Mabel pines: What the hey?! He left MegaTokyo in a bad mood!
Norman Babcock: And he will crush us if we don't do something!
Lili Zanotto: Um, excuse me? If I'm not mistaken, it's Raz and I who are keeping you alive right now.
Razputin Aquato: Keep talking, but DO SOMETHING already, guys.
Kris Dremurr: It's time to act, hey psycho, get this one
(And Kris Dremurr throws the sword and hits the window, shocking everyone.)
Neil Downe: Wow, nice throw.
Doctor Loboto: What the hell
Kris Dremurr: Susie go ahead, we have to win or weaken him while our boss is thinking
Susie: Kris are you crazy
Kris Dremurr: just hit
Susie: as you say
(And Susie runs and jumps and takes the axe and chops off one claw)
Doctor Loboto: Oh, girl, you have no idea.
Susie: Great
Dipper pines: They are right, we need to act, what is the plan Coraline
Coraline Jones: What. WHAT? Why do you keep asking ME?
Mabel pines: Um, because you're Commando Boss Lady?
Coraline Jones: Wait a second. No, I...

It is a flying career which lasted for an impressive 51 years and in which Warrant Officer Class 1 John Sheldon amassed over 8,000 hours in the air. OOR 1999 - Nr 14/15 - Rammstein interview

'Bestrafe Mich' and send me to Rammstein. Everything turns out not to be so bad with these six cheerful friends from the former East Germany. They are not scary, but they take their bang, fire and squirt circus very seriously. 'Rammstein an die Front? Geht nicht!'
by Herman van der Horst
Germans want to be everything, but please not German
Rammstein presents their CD Live Aus Berlin with a video in the Berlin art house Tacheles. Along the way I practice: Du, du hast, du hast mich, du hast mich fragt. 'Deutsch muss knallen!' my German teacher always advised us. In that regard, Rammstein is of course the right place for you. We consider the controversy surrounding these six cheerful friends from the former East Germany to be well known. That they were initially labeled as 'wrong'.
And later not wrong. Well, Rammstein is anything but 'wrong'; I was able to see this with my own (wet) eyes in the live video that was shown. Their show is a cross between a cartoon and a Commando video game. Innocent fun. A bit of S&M, a bit of Weisses Fleisch, a bit of religion, a bit of incest and a lot of pretending to be heavy. But in the end it all looks like a barbecue at the Krupps steel factory that got slightly out of hand.
As soon as the singer in Bestrafe Mich starts hitting himself with such a ticklish whip, I start laughing. And I can't get rid of that anymore. Although those rolling 'r's in Mein Krankes Gehirn are really beautiful and they have a schlager 1) with Seemann in the very best 'Junge Komm Bald Wieder' tradition. Their music is called tanzmetal. Metal is clear. But tanz? For elephants maybe...
After the video there is a buffet and the group members mingle with the journalists. Everyone consistently calls them by their surnames: Kruspe! Landers! Lindemann! Lorentz! Riedel! Schneider! But you just try to find the right faces to that by candlelight. That evening I had at least two incredibly deep discussions about the meaning of life, with Germans who turned out not to be Rammsteiners at all. Oh well, things can change.
The next day we are driven to the place where the interrogations will take place. The taxi driver warns that the address we provided may be very difficult to find. It is located in a secret Stasi area in the former East Berlin. Before the fall of the wall, this was a white spot on every Western map. And the house numbering is still incorrect, the driver sighs. Eventually he finds the address anyway. A little later we find ourselves in a lugubrious courtyard. There is a smell of torture and executions. Then we end up in a dark, dilapidated stairwell. When we reach the top, a heavy door opens slightly and we are led into an office. In one corner stands Rammstein's singer Lindemann in command fatigues. He holds a sten gun and an artificial cock against his chest. There is no head on its torso; he keeps it clutched under his other arm. It's a doll. I think.
The interrogations are already in full swing. They take place in small rooms that open onto a sparsely lit corridor system. There's a lady walking around with a clipboard. As we walk through a dark hallway, she says, shuffling through her papers, "You get Schneider." So not Kruspe, Landers, Lindemann, Lorentz or Riedel? "Nein, Scheider!" she repeats firmly. That cannot be changed. Oh well, I think, that sounds nice too, Schneider. After looking at my notes I see it's the drummer. But hey, wait, you still need an interpreter, she says. And away she rushes again. A moment later she returns with the interpreter, a lady who reaches about my waist. Now it comes down to it. After all, I'm here to brush up on my German. I take a deep breath. 'Deutsch muss knallen', crosses my mind. And here it comes: 'My German is ausgezeichnet!' The aus-ge-zeich net bounces down the hallway with a bang. The interpreter is impressed. She is off the hook.
The door to the interrogation room opens with a creak. Inside there is a table, above which hangs a light bulb. In the darkness I spot a stocky figure. "You're Schneider?" I ask to be sure. He nods. 'Horst' I say, holding out my hand, 'Von der'. Then we can get to the point.
What I'm curious about first, Herr Schneider, is whether it was your intention to make a parody of metal.
"No. It's not a parody. We stay away from that. We take ourselves, our music and our show very seriously."
Most metal groups take themselves seriously. That deadly seriousness with which they sell air. You exaggerate that so grotesquely that it really makes me laugh.
"That has something to do with your own preferences. Apparently you find this kind of music comical anyway. If people don't understand this music, or have never heard it before, it might be comical. Possibly. But then I can't help you."
Your texts are a good way to learn German. Rammstein could easily be on Sesame Street.
"If you want to see it that way. But where are you actually going with this?"
Preferably home. But since I'm here: is Rammstein an escape into a fantasy world for you?
"For me it is a content of life. In part it is indeed also an escape from reality. You simply have that possibility in a group. We create a fantasy world that can come to reality for an hour on stage."
Does that also have to do with the fact that you come from the former East Germany?
"Certainly. After the fall of the Wall, there is a lot of anger and frustration here. Many people are dissatisfied with their social situation. I must also add that a group like Rammstein could never have emerged in West Germany. Western musicians probably would have made a decision in advance: can we do this? How will people respond to it? We didn't care about that at the time. We hardly knew how the music biz worked. The Germans of course also have that eternal feeling of guilt about their past. That's why they reason: we don't have to have our own opinions, because we are guilty of certain crimes. I think that the Germans should no longer hide behind that. A generation has now emerged that is asking itself: should I carry that shame along my whole life? Should I deny my ancestry? We want to be everything, but please not German. It is a complicated topic. It is also very difficult to talk about it without immediately being called a Nazi. Anyone who says: I am German is a Nazi. But that's how it is here! We had to experience that in a bitter way."
Did Rammstein ever censor themselves?
"We started out very naive and open-minded. In the underground you can do very daring things because no one gives a shit anyway. That attracts a few freaks who think just like us. But if you suddenly get success, things will be different. As soon as the housewives start getting involved, it suddenly becomes a different story. Then you start setting boundaries. In the second place we started to wonder: where are those boundaries? Can we still cross them? Should we go that far again? Should we even continue? Well, we have indeed gone a lot further with that second album. At least I think so. And now we are again faced with the question: should we always provoke further? Or will that eventually become annoying? That people say: oh, that group is only looking for topics that people can be aggravated about. That is not our goal."
So this means the end of Rammstein.
"Maybe. That's why we made a live record."
As closure
"Yes. And then: finish that shit. Exactly. That would be a fitting statement."
One more grand farewell concert in Kosovo, perhaps? (at the time of the conversation the bombings were still in full swing)
"For what? We don't do politics at all."
No politics. Just take that whole bang, fire and squirt show of yours to the war front. You don't have to take that truck with fireworks either. NATO takes care of that.
"Why? As a mirror for...[chuckles nervously]...the catastrophe that's unfolding there...I think you're out of your mind."
As your final and ultimate provocation.
"It would be completely inappropriate. I think that is sick. That is a way of provoking to seek publicity."
With all due respect, Herr Schneider, but isn't that what Rammstein was about?
"Sure, sure. But to perform in a war zone and show off there... No! Look, you have a normal form of provocation, which is called show business. But this would be a political action, which no longer has anything to do with art or performance. It would undermine the entire context of music and show business."
It should remain show business. A circus.
"Exactly. It's a show and nothing else."
Time is up. Schneider stands up. “Rammstein an die Front,” he says, shaking his head. 'Geht nicht!' A little later the stairwell and the lugubrious courtyard appear, to my astonishment. to end up on a completely different street in Berlin. Wandering around Unter Den Linden, I come across a fence with the following written in large letters: 'Nie Wieder Krieg'. I think I am being followed.
--
1) For many 'critical' music journalists, the typical German 'Schlager' music is very 'wrong' in a 'tacky' sort of way, but the music enjoys some popularity as well in the Netherlands, especially in areas near the German border where German TV shows can be watched

so in our current ttrpg game, there's a species called the gorlamites who are in the ttrpg non-transforming robot-organic hybrids (in the comics some do transform and we will homage that), but there isn't a lot of art closeup of the organics or non transforming robots, and we wanted to have fun with aesthetic variation- so we bought and downloaded this pack on roll20 of these robots based off of lancer mechs because they're so cute and have size and proportion variety, thought it would be a good representation of a utopian future for these bots and will 100% be using these for games with og robots in other games https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/29529/whimsical-robots
and we realized that looking back at the Heart of Darkness #1 the art this isnt actually that far off for the robots so this is perfect (the narration in the comic panel shown is by IDW1 Galvatron who's more than a bit of a mechanoid and moreover transformer supremacist along with only favoring certain kinds of transformers)

ofc transformations are easy digitally if we want to give some of these gorlamites an altmode, just add more sides to a token, (if you're looking for rules for the gorlamites they're in the decepticon directive, we're going to be reapplying the modular attachments perks to other npc blocks from the core rulebook and that book and also our own npc blocks we'e made including stuff drawing on supplement books and gijoe and power ranger stuff since its all cross-compatible)
also the battletech fan in is amused that the scout robot (the green and teal one at the bottom right holding an smg sort of blaster) looks so much like a mix between a Commando and Urbanmech (for those of you not familiar with the Urbanmech it's slow and armored stats as a light urban defense mech mixed with having some of the heaviest weaponry of its class paired with a small laser has been the source of much humor and memes in the battletech community for years e.g. this hilarious video)

In Through the Airlock
In Through the Airlock, David Starkins, 1981
In Through the Airlock (ITtA) was one of the earliest avant-garde RPGs. Writing and playtesting started about a year after Traveller was released, but it wasn't until 1980 that things really took off. That was the year Led Zeppelin's album In Through The Out Door was released, and it was a major influence. Starkins said he listened to the album almost exclusively when writing the game's major revision and its companion setting book. The album is widely considered one of Zeppelin's worst, partly because it doesn't fit with the rest of their work. Lots of synth, a straight-up country song in the middle of it, different instruments at the forefront.
The few years before this game came out were a prolific time for new sci-fi. Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back were obviously the biggest deal, but Mad Max, Alien, Star Trek: the Motion Picture, The Black Hole, installments of both Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon, Battlestar Galactica, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, and even the utter nonsense that was Moonraker all came out within three years of each other. ITtA was spoiled for choice when it came to inspiration. Of that set, the major influences were definitely Alien, BSG, and Flash Gordon. ITtA blends them, the ten-years-earlier 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the mechanics of early Traveller into a military sci-fi game with a distinctly oddball feel.
In ITtA your characters are tasked with taking over capital starships with the least amount of damage possible to the structure. (Why sink a ship when you can take it over instead?) They cut through the airlock, re-seal it with some specialized gear, cut through the inside, and commando their way through the halls with stunners and nets. As the game goes on they're supposed to learn more about a (never detailed) threat coming from interplanetary space and galvanize people to fight against it. Starkins cited this particular stanza from Carouselambra as a major inspiration for the setting:
How keen the storied hunter's eye prevails upon the land To seek the unsuspecting and the weak And powerless the fabled sat, too smug to lift a hand Toward the foe that threatened from the deep Who cares to dry the cheeks of those who saddened stand Adrift upon a sea of futile speech? And to fall to fate and make the 'status plan' But no one there had heaven within their reach
It's definitely on the harder side of sci-fi, at least for what was known in 1981 (before the personal computer). For example, the game emphasizes repeatedly that there's no sound in space - that your characters will be floating through the void, hearing only radio static and navigation beacons from the moment they leave their ship to when they enter. The art (b/w line drawings) shows people floating rather than standing. The game ran more or less like Classic Traveler, but stripped down to just what you would need for this particular premise.
I mentioned "avant-garde" earlier. Production quality was very high for a game of its time. ITtA was three paperbacks (character + rules, ships + gear, GM book), but it shipped in a multi-album record box with a black cover and the name inlaid with "holographic" paper. It even came with a cassette tape (irony) containing a somewhat amateurish audio drama, attempting to set the mood for the game. It spoils a little of the reveal of the impending big bad, but that might not be a bad thing. Starkins gets an A for effort.
Unfortunately, as with a lot of art-project games, the cost became the problem. Even in bulk production this game might not have made its money back. At $40 in 1981, and frequently miscategorized into the record section, it didn't sell many copies. If you don't want to spend an unreasonable amount on auction sites, check a used record store.
