me n my sister spent some time messing around in pokemon channel for the first time in like over probably 10 years and its making me realize a small handful of things. for one, i am a massive fan of virtual pet games and sites and this is probably why. two is that that none of them ever did what pokemon channel did might be why i can never seem to find anything quite similar enough that it fulfills the imagined concept for a virtual pet that im constantly seeking

There is one comment that I read which annoyed me and I tried to let go without mentioning it but, you know what? The poster didn't think of keeping their thoughts to themselves about it, and it's the second time this exact thing is happening in relation to one of my shows, so what the hell.

Because of the anti-AI sentiment and discourse, some of which is justified and some completely unhinged (example: if you've ever bullied disabled people online for using it to make their life easier, please rethink your life choices and touch some grass), I'd think that people would be more careful who they're accusing of using AI in art. Turns out, people are not careful.

I've read quite a few "this must have been made with AI" false accusations lately but I did not expect someone to suggest that they used AI on Hudson and Rex. On footage that has already been filmed years ago, no less, and re-used in the new intro. Most of these scenes, including footage that had been used for a S4 promo, are not new. I assume that the use of the footage from S4 is what's confusing here, along with some not-so-smooth transitions and slow motion, which is something I found jarring as well. As a fan of the show, I don't need to know the technology to say that this wasn't due to AI. But as a person who has always tried to keep up with technological advancements and understands some of the AI technology, and as an amateur (non-AI) video editor, I can say that there was no AI use anywhere on that intro.

To people who have no idea what is or isn't AI or don't know much about film/tv/video making: Please don't make accusations like that. It's that simple. And think before you make a post. Posting an opinion presented as fact on a social medium, whether you realize it or not, is like saying something out loud in a crowded (or less crowded but certainly not empty) space. Someone is bound to see it sooner or later. And in a small fandom, it's actually more likely for someone to see it, even though the number of eyeballs is likely to be small, because content is scarce and your post will not "disappear" amongst an influx of other posts.

i replied angrily because ive gotten SO MANY comments on this fic asking when it’s going to be updated

it’s not like it’s one of those fics that hasn’t been updated in like 7 years or whatever

it’s been exactly 4 months since i updated the fic, and ive made it clear on several other comments that i have fallen out of love with the fandom. i still love the music of Hamilton i just have another hyperfixation right now

it has occurred to me that since it’s a guest account it could be a fake

but im just so mad. im 14. i shouldn’t have to deal with this. im taking exams in a few days time. writing fanfic used to help relieve stress but getting comments like this just sucks all the fun out of it

it’s so disappointing to follow a YouTuber from the very beginning & watch a promising channel completely devolve from interesting discussion to pretty much constant blatant lies & clickbait 😔 (just peeked at Hailey Reese’s channel for the first time in a while. I knew she wasn’t the genuine & interesting girl I thought she was in 2017 but her channel is really just constant straight up proven wrong misinformation these days huh?)

Anyway I was literally thinking about Bury Your Gays earlier and the way that like.. while its mainly focused on these aspects in relation to queer media, it's just such a takedown of the larger film industry in the way that working in it, at least in the ways considered "successful," also means rarely being able to tell the kinds of stories you, personally, might want to tell. It's an industry driven by what's guaranteed to get the most cash at the box office on opening weekend. It goes right alongside that Matt Damon interview clip from earlier where he talks about how the decline of the dvd + the profit cuts from streaming that mean no one behind the funding wants to take a chance on something new or even a little niche

are makeship plushies even good? as in, quality. ive never heard anything bad about them (ill be honest i havent heard ANYTHING about them) but im always annoyed by the fact that they ONLY do campagins you cant just go "hi heres the money make me 100 plushies" and they seem to have a rerun thing but only for particularly sucessful plushies...

If they are, i wonder if theres a reputable maker out there like them that'll REALLY get the job done right off the bat no campaigning needed...

Ive been reading Akiko Higashimuras Blank Canvas: my so called artists journey and im so jealous of her time in Osaka when she was around a lot of other manga artists and ended up learning a lot from her more experienced manga friends. I wish my comic friends all lived by and we could assist each other and learn new things from each other T____T
