Cross-Country Cooperation Countering a Con
(starter for @brigidspride)
One that that Ferdinand had found himself enjoying very much at Garreg Mach was the marketplace -- it was always fascinating to be able to sight and sample goods from all over Fodlan, or on lucky occasions from beyond, and Ferdinand always cherished the chances he got to experience those things beyond Adrestia, even as totally devoted to the Adrestian Empire as he was. It was for that reason that the great procession of merchants who had entered the city of Garreg Mach for the month delighted Ferdinand greatly -- it merely meant many more opportunities to peruse the goods of other lands.
Rumors had reached Ferdinand’s ears of one particular stand among the newcomers -- one which promised legendary weapons, and though the apparent claims of weapons of Zoltan seemed like they had surely been an exaggeration made by someone or another, Ferdinand still found himself exceptionally curious about what that merchant was selling. Accordingly, once he finally found a bit of reprieve from the training and weapon-work he had himself been doing quite a lot of this month, he made his way over to the section of market that the man was rumored to be in.
Eventually, he found the stand, and at first he just elected to lean back at a distance, and listen to the merchant, simply to see what the man was saying -- and he raised his eyebrows, for the man was quite emphatic. A spry older fellow was calling out with surprising volume (even for Ferdinand!) about his wares. “Come one, come all, see the mysterious and majestic artifacts that I have acquired in my many travels! Polearms of faraway principalities, Axes of archbishoprics, swords of shogunates, and far more! Some of the weapons in my possession have been wielded by ancient, foreign heroes!” Ferdinand began to move towards the stand, then, only to discover that there was actually someone else from his house whose curiosity had been stoked.

5 impacts of globalization on the workplace

The price on these massive efforts are often too high for one country to manage by itself.

Whether we are building space stations that orbit our planet, sending missions to the moon, or developing ways to counter hunger that every family can afford, this process frequently tries to make the world become a better place. Globalization provides an opportunity for the most significant economies and countries in the world today to work together to accomplish big things. Globalization brings the advanced economies of the world together. Americans are especially vulnerable to this process because they rely on global production, imports, and export opportunities to maintain a living wage.

Now there are more trade opportunities and investment flows in the world’s most advanced economies that are beneficial, complex, and sometimes politically charged.īefore we can examine the pros and cons of globalization, we must understand the relative costs and benefits that exist which could help or hurt the average consumer. The international agreements that have led to our current state of globalization were formed during the early 1990s after the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union dissipated. It has also caused a growing interdependence in the developed world that links our economies, populations, and cultures. The rise of globalization has helped companies to become bigger than they were during the early days of the Industrial Revolution. Better working conditions are becoming more of a priority nowadays thanks to the globalization of the workplace. Thanks to several centuries of technological process improvements, advances in cooperation throughout the international community, and improvements to communication infrastructures, our planet is more connected today than ever before. There is a push for worker health and safety and many companies are hard-pressed to comply with these higher standards set by customers and competitors. With better outsourcing options and people being globally connected through technology, there is an increasing awareness of issues around the world. Cross-cultural training is one of the fastest and most effective ways to get there. Ensuring that your company is open-minded and appreciative of different viewpoints fosters the best working environment for company-wide success. Cultural competency training is now necessary so employees have the tools to work efficiently and effectively with different cultures. Workers from different backgrounds may have trouble connecting with each other. The more diversity that exists in the workplace due to globalization, the greater the need for coaching and training employees. Although good for businesses, this can result in lower wages for workers. Because of this, an increasing number of companies outsource. When companies expand overseas to countries with a lower standard of living, they gain access to products and services at a much lower cost. People from different cultures also bring different viewpoints and ideas to the table, boosting creativity and potential for company growth.
While organizations find it necessary to adopt new communication processes and policies with an increasingly diversified workforce, they also gain insight into different cultures that may then be targeted from a sales and marketing perspective. Globalization and the Growth of Cultural DiversityĪlthough an increase in cultural diversity in the workplace may create issues, it also provides opportunities that may benefit companies. So let’s look at the many trends we are beginning to see in globalized workplaces. Companies who are evolving with this shift have a competitive advantage over those who don’t. Business processes are continually adjusted to accommodate the growing number of different cultures and nationalities that organizations work with. Professionals must learn to communicate differently. As companies reach across country borders and globalization of the workplace becomes the new norm, businesses must continually adapt to changes.
