Sugar has become public enemy # 1 when it comes to health. The problem comes when sugar is added to foods during processing for added flavor, texture, or color. The average American eats between 13 and 20 teaspoons of added sugar a day (around 230 calories for women, and 335 for men). This is an awful lot. Some of the health benefits of cutting back on sugar are weight loss, lower blood pressure and bad cholesterol, lower risk of diabetes and can reduce risk of certain cancers.  Love yourself enough to cut back on the sugar for a happier and healthier you!
