my DDP muse is elusive as best but once again, mango sends me to the mines for coal /j he is, indeed... a collector of men. i want to talk about his relationships with women first, though.

my muse maintains his marital status with kimberly, and they're definitely a power couple. dallas is very good at marketing, very person-forward, front-facing. he truly cares about people and wants to help them and, for all he presents himself as being in the same camp as conmen, he'll screw himself to avoid screwing someone else - unless he knows they're privileged enough to survive, regardless. kim also cares about people and is especially protective of other women, but she's much more business and finance oriented than her husband. whereas dallas is hands on in harm reduction, kim takes a more broad approach with a focus on sustaining resources. dallas is the guy who'll sit with someone through withdrawal and kim is the gal who'll go full throttle on their insurance company for rehab coverage - but they'd both work together to shell out time, resources, and money for the people they're trying to help. if dallas didn't maintain a good relationship with his wife, she'd never let him near the diamond dolls, and if he didn't maintain good relationships with the dolls... i think kim would keelhaul him using his own boat. most of his self-promoting material featuring the dolls is meant to increase their visibility, too, not reduce them to props.

speaking of the dolls: dallas loves them and maintains professional relationships with them. kim is probably the anchor that keeps him from developing a familial mindset towards the women they employ, especially because of how young so many of them are. in my own headcanons being a diamond doll is never encouraged to be the end goal, and dallas and kim are always working to help the women in their employ achieve bigger and better. neither of them demean the work of escorts and dancers, though, nor sex workers for that matter, and if those are the professional realms the dolls want to work in because they enjoy them, dallas is going to be supportive (and highly protective). kim's a little more insistent on safer prospects or more mainstream forms of entertainment and athleticism, and likes training the dolls. everyone has to do their DDPY though, or else. /j

go read slater's headcanons, bye!- no okay. dallas is not unwise to the world of professional wrestling, but he knows an artist and innovator when he sees one. he knows he elevates himself by being beside and, sometimes, behind razor; dallas is there to jerk the curtains back and aim the lights at the stage for his studd. dallas also knows he helps keep him on course, focused and motivated, in shape.

i'm not going to project scott hall's real life alcoholism onto a fictionalised muse based off fictional characters he played, but i do believe the diamond studd struggles with substance dependencies that could become addictions, and that dallas sees himself as a living preventive measure. he enriches razor's life outside his performance, subtly hooking him on collecting memorabilia and trinkets. dallas loves filming on his camcorder, razor somehow found himself creating a small collection of instant cameras. dallas always finds a pool hall wherever they go, razor developed some killer trick shots on the road. dallas's main leisure hobby is boating, razor isn't sure when he became a nautical map wiz, but he is. they frequent the same haunts when they revisit towns and regions, beating each other's scores on arcade games (dallas can't stop the studd's score on a specific sopranos pinball machine and it drives him nuts.) neither of them gamble without the other if they can avoid it. dallas has seen the studd at his absolute worst, his most vulnerable, and in the least flattering lights, and he does everything in his power to keep him far away from that place. he'll even tour around the country looking for a suitable assistant for him, recruiting person after person to find the perfect studdette. which is slater, of course.

no okay. if the diamond studd is dallas's statement piece, vinnie vegas is the oversized wolfmutt dallas carries around as a purse dog. he loves this guy. when he first encounters diesel, dallas reads him as directionless. lost, repressed, but smart - quickly becoming a well known and trusted name in leather communities while trying, desperately, to hide the fact that he's trans and pre-medical transition. deeply passionate about indigenous issues and cultures, but woefully disconnected from his own. money-minded, but a big spender, yet never a debter. he has so much potential and so many crudely composed fake IDs, dallas decides he's going to help before diesel even realises he could use a hand. dallas and kim are the orchestrators behind diesel safely undergoing HRT and various gender-affirming surgeries, some of which they funded out of the country. dallas continuously helps him manage his basketball injury, which does disable him and would severely limit his mobility if not for extensive rehabbing and treatments. but dallas also forces diesel out of his comfort zone, making him a more confident performer, teaching him to play characters and develop gimmicks. vinnie vegas is only the initial developmental stage of the project that is diesel, and page works tirelessly on him.

this does mean their relationship is more one-sided initially, but diesel learns how to give back. he wants to, and returning favours in equal value isn't something that comes naturally to mister cool. diesel moving on from the diamond exchange and, quite literally, taking a name for himself and making it mean something is a massive source of both pride and grief for dallas. i think a small part of him wishes diesel stayed with him longer, and yet another part laments that razor and diesel will follow each other wherever they go, with or without him. he'll always be there when he's needed without hesitation, and he'll always be home base... but he does regret not being along for the ride, sometimes. that being said, dallas is one of the first of very few people diesel will go to for help, especially in an emergency

• scotty "the body" flamingo

page thinks of scotty as a raccoon more than a flamingo. he's always getting into Something, he has perpetual grabby hands, and he may look very pretty or cute but he can rip your face off without warning. he's a diva, a brat, and a sly manipulator; scotty masterminds endless scams, cons, and elaborative lies, and dallas facilitates the operation... within reason. he knows scotty can be something spectacular if he doesn't burn himself out before he makes it. icarus, but a flamingo-pink raccoon. he can tell scotty is incredibly talented, creative, intelligent, and curious, and he can tell he's severely self destructive. he knows he has untreated psychiatric issues, but he can't pinpoint exactly what the problems are beyond the manifestations of symptoms themselves, and scotty's misogyny and general attitude towards women mean kimberly isn't willing to cooperate with him at all. dallas's checklist of things he must provide in scotty's habitat reads something like this:

1. safe, controlled, supportive environments for scotty to explore and express himself

2. healthy stimulation, including encouraging and reinforcing replacing harmful behaviours with healthier and/or less harmful behaviours

3. safe socialisation where a) scotty will not be emotionally or sexually mistreated nor exploited, b) scotty cannot abuse nor mistreat others, c) scotty will have a higher likelihood of forming positive associations with mundane activities, and d) scotty can safely express dangerous and violent behaviours and thoughts, including his fixations on the "occult."

mister flamingo poses a special challenge for dallas, and he really does try to balance protecting everyone from scotty with protecting scotty from himself. his tenure under dallas's wing is the shortest out of the notable members of the diamond exchange, but scotty never forgets everything dallas did for him and the lessons he taught him. granted, he only listens to the ones that benefit his in-ring career, and he never reaches out to dallas for help even in life-threatening situations... but he doesn't forget. their relationship is always strained, yet mutually respectful, and scotty is always going to be closer with vegas and the studd. this is a whole other meta rant, but johnny polo and raven retain the memories of dallas's kindness (raven moreso than polo), and raven, at least, does eventually accept small doses of aid from dallas in the future. they never form a bond akin to dallas and scotty's, and raven is extremely avoidant of any opportunity for page to bring scotty up.

there's some men And some ladies for u. i love dallas and really want to write him more but he's so nuanced, such a smooth talker, so slick. half the time i feel like i'm building his muse atop the foundation of my L4D nick muse and throwing in elements of other muses, but not actually creating my own little ddp doll to play with from scratch... >_>

My personal Joe-verse loosely follows the Hamaverse for the most part, but not completely. Also pretty much if I can buy a figure of a character, that character is still alive.

- I add some ideas/characters from Sunbow (Mainframe/Zarana romance, Honda Lou, Teiko, Green shirts, etc), DiC (in my version, Armadhila is the Alley-Viper that was friends with Scoop in Operation: Dragonfire, Evy the Range-Viper, etc), DDP (Firewall, Mayday, Mariner, Alexander McCullen, Mistress Armada, [American] Red Shadows II, Phoenix Guard, etc), IDW (Hashtag, Ronin, Lighthorse, etc), etc.

- A lot of Legacy characters get renamed: Resolute/RoC/IDW Dial Tone is Landline, IDW Hard Drive is Network, Sean Collins is Kamakura and Throwdown is one of his brother, Sunbow's Daina is Krasa (Russian for Beautiful), etc

- Final Faction is a branch of Star Brigade that deals with alien encurscions to Earth.

- MASK is based more on the original season of the cartoon, but has ties to GI Joe.

- Street Fighters are a loose collection of street fighters that include members of Interpol, British intelligence, US military, etc that regularly deal with various low level threats that would not require action by any of the larger teams. There is a healthy working relationship between the the Joe's and the Street Fighters.

- Oktober Guard is made up of Brekhov, Daina, Horrorshow, Schrage Stormavik, Krasa, Volga, Vorona, Gorky, Misha, Dragonsky, Red Star, Big Bear, Wong, and a couple of Original Characters.

- Action Force is made up of non GI Joe characters (ie Skip, Scout, Doc, Wheels, Jammer, Quarrel, Stalker, Steeler, Moondancer, etc) and the Joe's that were of European nationality (Big Ben, Action Man, Natalie Poole, etc). They are Europe's GI Joe equivalent.

- Argen7 is the Argentinan Joe equivalent. Made up of Shimik, Glenda, Sokerk, Redmack, Manleh, Topson, & TNT.

- Commandos En Açāo is the Brazilian version of the Joe's. Made up of Athena, Sparta, Estopim, Tigor, etc. They actually work a lot with the Argen7 team to fight Cobra in South America.

- India has the Commandos Force made up of the original characters from Funskool (Rednok, Canary Ann, Streethawk, [red Caucasian] Stalker, Wireless Tracker, Super Cop, Skydiver, etc)

- Bronze Bombers (original & 97 characters) are a private contractor group that operate out of the African continent. They operate along the lines of the A-Team in the fashion that they usually work for the oppressed and underdogs. And don't let them find you poaching if they are in the area.

- The Corps are the UN equivalent of the Joe's. They are made up of the original & modern characters.

- Cobra is based around the Hamaverse version. There are also South American & Indian branches of the group based around the figures released in the area (Armadhila, Mortal, En Aco, Kangor, O Invasors, etc for Cobra SA and Snake Shadow, Scorpion, etc for India).

- Iron Grenadiers are Destro's personal army. Other named characters are Darklon, Roddy Piper, Mayhem, Voltar, Metal Head, Copperback, Alexander McCullen, Mistress Armada, etc.

- Athena is the private contractor company owned by the Baroness' family. They were really only seen once in the DDP comics, but I have a couple of Fortnite figures I used to represent them. (Calamity is an officer and the Elite & Rogue Agents are the troops).

- Dreadnoks are a multinational biker gang lead by Zartan. Pretty much a combo of the Hamaverse & DDP versions of the group.

- SKAR is a terrorist group led by Iron Klaw. They occasionally encounter either the Joes, Action Force, or Oktober Guard.

- IRON Army is a group of cyborgs created by the former ally of Sgt Savage, Garrison Kreiger aka General Blitz.

- Red Shadows are the main enemy of the Action Force. They have a small branch in the Americas based around the DDP version. Baron Ironblood, Black Major, Red Laser, Red Jackal, Red Wolf, Red Vulture, Red Scream, etc are the command force of the European branch with Wilder Vaughn, Arthur Kulik, & Dela Eden lead the American branch.

- Marauders are a former private contractor army that went rogue. They are one of the two enemies of the Corps. Ravage, Plague I, Vulture, Road Rash, Remora, Hak Luger, & (formerly) Dusk are the named members.

- Curse created by the former Corps member Shadow, the Curse are almost all infected with nanobots that augment them in some fashion. Plague II, as Shadow now goes by, has recruited several allies; Puma, Impact, Reaper, Occulus, etc.

- Pyro's Band Of Thugs are essentially a group of mercs made up of the enemies of Bronze Bombers. Cool Breeze, the Baron, Chilly Pop, Backdraft, Crazeblaze, Firebomb, & Scorch.

- Shadaloo is a small nation that offers sanctuary to many evil people.

but I mean, personally I wanted to do a lot of culturally unique things, which is the reason you even travel to begin with. so museums, palaces, temples, food, and the typical touristic sights like namsan, ddp, or going to see some of my fave architecture, and literally just roaming around the city, traveling down to busan for a few days, unique experiences you want to do or have, specific cafes maybe etc etc. like I wanted to experience the city and culture. I set one day aside in my 3 weeks in korea and did ‘kpop things’ like go to bighit, hallyu street, the abandoned pool etc. like, for me, I didn’t go to korea for anything kwave related, so that was one of the furthest things from my mind/something I didn’t put like any time into 

tbh it’s all on how you like to travel, and looking at travel blogs would probably be helpful for you

like something fun and unique to the seoul trip was this perfume making class I went to with @chimcheroo & @bangtanbanchan like no it’s not ‘unique to korea’ but it’s a unique experience and memory made in korea that I’ll most likely never do again that I got to share with some amazing friends. and all our perfume bottles are uniquely made for us, by us, and are all labeled with this seoul 2017 trip

Recently our social network feeds have started to look like a nursing home — a mobile app called FaceApp created a filter that shows what you’ll look like when you get old, and this has absolutely taken over the online community — people are taking selfies, pics of their pets, and even putting photos of favorite movie characters in the old-age filter and sharing them with the world. Famous actors and singers were no exception. Here at Bright Side we really liked this trend and decided to do an experiment — we put this old age filter on pics of celebrities in their younger years and compared them with their recent photos. Why WCW closing was bad for Wrestling and how it could’ve been saved

It’s 2019 and I still believe WCW closing down and WWE buying WCW was the worst thing to happen to the wrestling industry. To me wrestling died the day WCW went out of business and WWE did nothing but bury WCW. WCW may have been bad in it’s last 3 years, but it could have been saved. WWE has become stagnant, stale and complacent. 

If WCW was the better product, it would have at minimum lasted on its own. Ratings and Dollars don't lie. In the end, WCW became trash. The only ones getting pushed were the nWo, Goldberg, and Sting. They chased away The Big Show, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko and Perry Saturn. All Eric Bischoff cared about was appeasing Hulk Hogan’s already bloated ego and being buddies with Hogan and Nash. WCW could’ve been good if it actually wanted to push and make stars, instead of keep shoving the nWo down our throats and pushing old wrestlers already past their prime. The only stars WCW made were Goldberg, The Giant, DDP, Sting and Booker T.

But WWE became better because of WCW. Competition made the WWE better and because Vince McMahon is a bitter man-child, he buried every star from WCW.

Things I believe could’ve saved WCW

Keep it to southern Wrestling. Jim Cornette said it best. Trying to copy Vince's cartoonish wrestling show instead of being Southern Wrestling is what killed WCW before they got momentum. WCW/NWA had a huge following in the South and offered an alternative to those Yanks up in New York City. They offered a hard-hitting, realistic style that emphasized wrestling and treated it like a sport. Years of mismanagement got them away from their classic formula. They needed to stop copying and instead provide something unique. The Attitude Era was going to burn itself out and many hardcore fans were beginning to tire of the short matches and endless talking. If WCW rebooted earlier and put a focus on their best workers they could have created a niche for themselves. Jericho, Malenko, Saturn, Benoit and Guerrero might even have stayed if they were highlighted in this new format, creating a much more even playing field post-2000.

Dustin Rhodes The Natural Dream As World Champion. While the sons of legends, and particularly bookers, don’t necessarily have the best track record in wrestling history, Dustin Rhodes is an exception to the rule for his talent, ability to adapt, and work ethic. He was a well respected star in WCW and looked like an eventual world champion before Hulk Hogan arrived and changed the company's direction. Rhodes seeing through his championship destiny would've done exactly what WCW struggled with time and again: created a new main event star. Adding Rhodes to the mix in the mid '90s could've helped diversify the main event pool with a fresher face

Not botching Starrcade 1997. From Bash At The Beach 1996, it was all leading to this moment. The best booked angle and most anticipated match of the year was squandered in a mess of politics. The entire nWo angle had built to this moment. Their reign of terror over the hapless WCW had been thwarted by one man and a baseball bat. The culmination of wrestling’s biggest story needed to blow off in a big way. Starrcade needed a happy ending with Sting finally striking a blow for the good guys in this epic war. But that’s not what happened. There should never have been a slow-count (meant to be a fast count) or any other stupid gimmick finish. Just one epic match like Hogan and Warrior had at WrestleMania VI. Hogan lost clean there and he should have done it again. Sure after over a year of inactivity Sting was reported to be out of shape, but he only needed to keep up with Hogan. A simple, classic formula making Sting look strong is all that was needed. Even Kevin Nash’s concept was better. Nash said it best when he said it should've been a Steel Cage match with security on the outside to keep the nWo out. There was no need for a screwjob finish. Have Hogan and Sting be on equal footing and have Sting win clean. Hogan shakes his hand and raises his hand. The Nitro after he says Sting was the better man and chooses to retire. The nWo come out and attacks Hogan. This is the start of the end for the nWo.

Use Bret Hart for all he’s worth. After the Montreal Screwjob Bret Hart was arguably the hottest thing in wrestling. During a heated Monday Night War the WWE had just lost their (recent) champion to the competition and Vince’s dirty tactics made mainstream news. Hart was wasted immediately as a guest referee and then a whiner who called a normal three-count ‘slow’. Hart has claimed that Hogan and the rest wanted to bury him and by the way he was booked, it’s easy to make that case. Hart also claims that WCW would fly him first class to events only to not have him on the show. One of the top guys in the industry was lost in the shuffle. You know what would’ve fixed Bret Hart in WCW? Give Bret the mic. let him cut a brutal shoot promo on Vince and Shawn, say something like "they couldn't beat me so they screwed me, but I got the last laugh by knocking Vince's lights out." ending it by saying "Since I can't beat the shit out of Shawn Michaels I am gonna do the next best thing, hurt Shawn where it hurts, his friends" hinting at Bret gunning after Hall and Nash, and then put him in the main event of a 3 way match with Hogan and Sting at Superbrawl. Build a new Hart stable. The Hart Dungeon. With Bret, Jim Neidhart, Davey Boy, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit. Feud with the NWO and Horseman. Have Bret unite WCW against the nWo. Starrcade 1998 is when it ends. Bret Hart, Ric Flair, DDP, Sting and Goldberg team up to end the nWO. Keep him as far away from Goldberg as possible, let him have great matches with the best, keep him the face of WCW and just use Bret for all he's worth. Instead he had some lame feud with Ric Flair and turned heel and face more than Big Show. His WCW career went nowhere and it ended up ending his career

Value Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen. Flair was treated like garbage as soon as Hogan arrived, even though he still had far more great matches left in him than the Real American. It was a slap in the face to the loyal NWA/WCW fans who grew up with Southern rasslin and worshipped the Nature Boy. Fans had been waiting sine the 80s to see these two clash and Hogan’s ego ruined it. They could have battled for 10 years as opposing leaders, eventually moving out of the ring to work as mouthpieces for their respective factions. Flair should have led a revamped and dangerous Four Horsemen or simply been a respected and powerful statesmen of WCW. Either way he still had the talent to compete in the WWE several years later so he obviously could have contributed back then.  Ric Flair is the kind of performer that barely needs to be booked. You give him some time and a mic, and he goes out there and makes magic. Flair was WCW, but they just didn’t get it. As for how the Four Horsemen should have been booked. Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko, Curt Hennig and Lord Steven Regal. Have Ric Flair as the mouthpiece manager and part-time wrestler and keep the group looking strong. They could have epic battles with the nWo

Give a clear end for the nWo and keep the members short and don’t oversaturate it. Hogan, Hall, Nash and Syxx are the only good members of the nWo. Everyone else could have been better. If I had it my way, I would’ve kept to like 10 members. Syxx would’ve been number 4, but since he wasn’t #6, I would’ve had him be called Kidd. The Steiner Brothers would be next, no betrayal, it would be the Steiners destroying Harlem Heat while against Hall and Nash.  Meng would join as the nWo’s enforcer. No one in WCW or the entire wrestling world for that matter was as intimidating as Meng. Eddie Guerrero would join next. Perry Saturn and Raven would join next. After Starrcade 1997, the nWo would split between Black and white and Wolfpac. Those loyal to Hogan looking to avenge him and those loyal to Hall and Nash. Eventually they would reunite and the final battle for WCW would be decided at Starrcade 1998, the nWo would lose and be banished from WCW.

Keep the WCW loyalists strong. The WCW was terrorized during the nWo’s first year which made for great drama, but they needed to look strong to keep it competitive. Instead they made their own company look so weak that everyone wanted to be on the other team. A feud doesn’t last if one side dominates as it’s devoid of tension. The WCW roster was flush with talent and a few pivotal wins would have given them the credibility they needed compete. Goldberg was so popular because he seemed like the only WCW guy who actually won matches! Give Flair, Luger, Savage, Sting, and the rest of the talented mid-card some legitimacy and they would have helped the entire promotion.

Keep Lex Luger out of the nWo/Wolfpac. He's a huge part of WCW's earlier history and was the initial line of defense during the The Outsiders' initial run. For him to join a hated enemy made him look like a weak-minded follower.  Luger is tough to book as he's always been a very limited talent with a great body and not much else. He always found himself in the main-event picture for some reason, but there was a way they could have used him more effectively. He would have been perfect as the silent muscle for WCW. Have him run down and protect WCW cruiserweights from nWo beatings and fight on the same side as Goldberg and DDP. His blandness is easier to hide as a strong face.

Keep Sting solo and the watchful guardian of WCW. Sting works best as the lone wolf and vigilante of WCW. The fans loved it not just because of the mystery, but because someone was finally sticking up for WCW and beating up the bullies. That's why it was ridiculous to see him with hideous red face paint and hanging out with Kevin Nash. There were far too many baseball bat beatings between them to bury the hatchet. Sting on his own is a versatile weapon that can be deployed anywhere and makes sense in any feud.

Keep Macho Man out of the nWo and let the Macho Madness run wild. Macho Man in the nWo made no fucking sense. He hates Hogan both in kayfabe and in real life. He was beaten by the Outsiders constantly. It made no sense.  Book Savage as a wild maniac who takes on all-comers but has little disregard for his own safety and is willing to do anything to rid WCW of Hogan and the nWo. Savage didn't need a stable. He was equal to Hogan in terms of world-wide recognition yet could actually provide high-quality matches. A group would just water him down. Let the Madness reign.

Push the younger talent. Push Goldberg, Sting, DDP, The Giant,  Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Perry Saturn, Rey Mysterio as the future of WCW and keep them all strong. They were talented enough to carry the show and could have made for a great feud with Hogan, Nash, and Hall. Using honesty in a wrestling storyline usually works and the talented mid-carders fighting back would have hit close to home and provided fantastic drama. WCW got lucky with Goldberg, but he was alone in the battle. Give him some powerful allies that can work great matches and the show could write itself. The Radicalz leaving was a huge factor in WCW’s decline and pushing them could’ve saved their company. And hell, WCW HAD AJ Styles, imagine WCW having Impacts’s best stars and pushing them to the moon. In my opinion, WCW surviving and thriving would be a mix of ROH and early Impact.

Chris Jericho In The Main Event. Chris Jericho is one of the biggest wrestling legends of his generation. He was there for the tail end of WWE’s Attitude Era and emerged from it ready for the main event scene. From there, he’d demonstrate remarkable longevity as he remained relevant on the WWE landscape for over 15 years to follow, in NJPW and he will shine in AEW. In WCW, Jericho was relegated to the Cruiserweight division and mid-card title scene. To be fair, the WCW roster was so loaded that it was hard to make a real opportunity for Jericho. Nonetheless, had management realized his potential, we have to wonder what might have been if Jericho got the opportunity to move up the card and headline in WCW.

Not having Goldberg lose the way he did. I did not like it ending the way it did. If Nash cannot beat Goldberg on his own goddamn merit, than he did not deserve to break Goldberg’s Streak. If it were up to  me Goldberg would lose at Starrcade 1999. To either Booker T, DDP or Scott Steiner.

Begin The Women’s Revolution 20 Years Early With Madusa.  Had WCW committed to building around Madusa, with the addition of talents from Japan, and cultivating new stars, it might have added a totally different featured dimension to WCW’s programming. WCW could’ve been the place where women’s wrestling in North America evolved. Molly Holly started her career in WCW. WCW had Jacqueline and Daffney, who knows, had WCW stayed in business, they could’ve had Gail Kim and Awesome Kong. WCW could’ve been the one to give us a damn good Women’s roster when all the WWE was doing was degrading their women’s roster and calling them Divas.

Making Sean O’Haire the next big thing. Bischoff was high on O’Haire and seeing him in WCW was the absolute highlight of WCW 2000
