Dakhota & Jesse met with a first touch; which resulted in several tears shed. It was an extremely sweet moment as the couple calmed one another's nerves and shared loving words with one another. I love it when a couple shares a first touch as it allows them to spend time with one another unseen while saving their first look for the aisle. The time came for the ceremony and everyone gathered along 5eleven's charming back courtyard. Dakhota & the bridal party were all set and anticipated Jesse's walk down the aisle.

Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll b too great help bc this is gonna b my first rave😸 #so #excited..!!!! ���Anyways the best I have is any events/public moments u Do already go to, talk/ask to ppl ab it! Esp if it’s sumn w ppl in subcultures, party animals, etc. also on social media follow as much djs, event groups/planners/promoters, clubs, and so on as u want to. Esp local ones. A good number of em may follow you back and sometimes even msg u directly ab upcoming events :) being dmed is how I found the 1 I’m going to! I also check eventbrite religiously for potential fun. Related to my 1st point: Thru the internet I found the goth clubs/scene and thru the goth scene I found the kink clubs/scene and thru the kink scene I’ve found the raves:) idk how effective this is but sometimes I’ll literally write in sumn like “Florida rave” in instagram’s search bar and wait for ads/sponsored posts related to that. Day 43 – C U later
S and J woke up early this morning to celebrate their anniversary and mourn C’s departure. S donned his normal lobster swim trunks. Exasperated that S had worn the same swim trunks since we’d arrived in St Lucia, J asked him to wear his turquoise ones. Since today is our anniversary, S begrudgingly agreed. The lobster trunks will be back tomorrow.
Today was C’s last day with us before heading back to rainy old Scotland with a long layover in Gatwick. We are both very sad to see her go. S definitely shed a tear or two.
Sadly, our day at the pool was a washout… literally, as it pretty much rained as soon as C finished applying her sunscreen. C had a blueberry crêpe for breakfast while J toddled off to the gift shop to get gifts for our parents (t-shirts and a pack of rum balls for S’ dad). S is disgusted that our parents want gifts. They are obviously very materialistic and S, as a millennial woke, on a six-month around-the-world trip finds this very offensive. He thinks gracing our parents with his presence in Florida is sufficient.
Once the rain came, we headed to one of the umbrella-covered outdoor tables to get some pizza and wait out the rain. The manager was very friendly and told S he looked like he was having a good day. This may be because he decided to wear the New Year’s Eve black party beads with his turquoise swim trunks. After finishing our pizza and polishing off one more glass of sparkling wine waiting for the rain to abate, we agreed it wasn’t going to happen in the near term. We decided to head back to our room.
While C was getting cleaned up for her departure, J had to negotiate with the Sandals staff to get another bottle of sparkling wine delivered to our room. Despite us thinking it was included in the all-inclusive room package, we are now being told it is only provided for special occasions. We informed them that it is our anniversary today and now have 2 bottles.
We finished our Estimation game. S and J conceded defeat as C was so far ahead she couldn’t lose. We then played a Saturday NYT crossword puzzle watching the rain bucket down outside of our window. Eventually, we took C to the lobby to catch the shuttle to the airport. We suppose the pouring rain was a nice transition for her as she heads back to Scotland. While we were in the lobby, Marsha introduced us to the general manager of all the Sandals in St Lucia, Winston. S said he’d heard Winston was the best cricket player in St Lucia. S and Winston then talked cricket. Apparently Winston played with Courtney Walsh and Michael Holding.
We then decided today was the day we’d go to the hot tub at night before dinner. We met some great couples – Jason and Ginger from North Carolina and Nadia and Chris from Ealing, London. Jason was an orthopaedic surgeon, Nadia is a musical event planner and Chris is a DJ. Nadia is half Trinidadian and half Mauritian and has close ties to the Caribbean community, which she is able to use to promote Caribbean music and culture in London. She said usually at this time of the year, she would be working on sourcing costumes and planning for the annual Caribbean Carnival in Notting Hill. However, the Carnival is not going forward this year because of COVID. She is now considering moving to Barbados or St Lucia, where musical events are still happening. They got away during the most recent lockdown and we are sad that we will not have more time to get to know them while we are here as they seem to be a lot of fun.
When we got back to our room, Marsha called us to let us know that the French restaurant was closed today. She asked what we wanted to do. We said our next choice was Soy, the sushi restaurant. She said she’d call and get us a reservation even though they don’t do reservations. Marsha worked her magic and got us a reservation so we wouldn’t have to wait at Soy.
When we arrived, Lito the host said Happy Anniversary and we were led to our table, which was decorated with flower petals and glass beads. The server, Hetra, said Happy Anniversary and told us she’d prepared our table for us. We had the usual plus a veggie tempura for S.
We went back to the billiards room for a last round of pool, which as usual J won handily. We then went back to our room for some alone time. We were surprised to see a spread had been laid out thanks to Marsha. There was a heart-shaped towel on our bed with white lilies and then more lilies, chocolate cake, chocolates, strawberries and champagne on our table. It was very thoughtful and we’ve agreed that Sandals came through in the end, thanks to Marsha. S has begrudgingly agreed to give them a 5 on Tripadvisor and admits he is willing to come back for one of his daughter’s weddings. After all, Sandals gives you a free wedding if you stay for 3 nights and S does appreciate free stuff.
