Although Douglas left the premises, she later discovered that her keys were missing. During the night, while she slept, Douglas allegedly entered her home, covered her mouth, and assaulted her. A sexual assault kit administered at the hospital subsequently matched Douglas's DNA to this case and others. 2014 Incident In 2014, another woman from Dallas accused Douglas of sexual assault after they had spent the evening together. As reported by FOX26Houston.com, although she recalled consuming several drinks with him, she lost memory of the events after leaving the restaurant. She woke up in her hotel room, feeling groggy and in pain, with Douglas present, shirtless. She later told authorities that she felt as if she had taken a sedative. Douglas, when questioned, alleged that the encounter was consensual. 2016 Incident A further allegation surfaced in 2016 involving an incident at a parking lot near the Onyx Strip Club. A woman, who met Douglas through a mutual friend, claimed he persuaded her to leave the club with him. In the parking lot, Douglas allegedly exposed himself and assaulted her. The woman fought back and managed to escape, returning to the club to inform her friend. A hospital-administered sexual assault kit confirmed DNA matching Douglas's profile. 2022 Incident The most recent accusation against Douglas dates back to 2022, when a woman accused him of assault following a meeting at a Galleria-area bar. As reported by FOX26Houston.com, she felt unwell after accepting a drink from Douglas, suspecting it may have been tampered with. Douglas then offered to drive her car but ended up taking her to a hotel instead. Later, she confided in her ex-boyfriend about the assault, who corroborated to the police that she named Kerry Douglas as her attacker during their conversation. Douglas has since been released on a $20,000 bond. As this case progresses, the gospel music community and the public are closely monitoring developments surrounding these serious allegations.

The Match by Harlan Coben is his 2nd book with Wilde, the Boy From the Woods. "Wilde puts his DNA into some of the geneology sites hoping to find his biological parents. He gets couple of hits. One might be his parents - another is possibly a half brother. When Wilde finds out the brother may be in trouble, he looks for him. But when people start showing up dead - and the FBI starts tracking Wilde - he's not sure how much he really needs to find any family." Coben takes two current issues - DNA matching and influencers - and throw his characters headlong into them. Wilde just wants to know why he was left in the woods and who left him. And the reality TV "stars" want a piece of the influencer fame. Wilde is an interssting character. He's at home in the woods and also in the streets of NYC. He struggles with close relationships but he's trying. Hester Crimstein is a character that any reader can visualize and certainly one you want on your side. The Match is full of the twists and turns we expect from Coben. I did get a little confused at all of the DNA matching percentages and family connections - just slow down and pay attention and you should be fine. This is another fast-paced, fantastic read from Coben. Thriller fans should definitely add this to their reading list.
