This was nevertheless a perfectly timed clapback to Villeneuve’s criticism. But to directly link the two would do Ricciardo a disservice. He revealed that after Monaco, he made a concerted effort to try to understand why things weren’t working, going beyond his on-track performance and data such as braking points or corner speeds. It required calling on not only the team’s management and engineers, but also his inner-circle off the track, and asking them to be open books with their feedback.

Study: Scientists develop needle-free vaccine using floss to deliver immunity via the gums
Tumblr media
- By Nuadox Crew -
Researchers have developed a novel, needle-free vaccine method using floss coated with vaccine components.
In a study published in Nature Biomedical Engineering, mice flossed with the vaccine-laced thread developed strong immune responses and survived exposure to a lethal flu strain, while unvaccinated mice did not. The gum area between teeth is highly permeable, making it an effective site for vaccine absorption.
The study also found immune responses in the mice’s saliva, feces, and bone marrow, indicating long-term protection. Human testing with dye-coated dental picks showed that flossing reached the gums about 60% of the time.
This floss-based vaccine method could overcome the challenges of mucosal immunization, offering a simple, needle-free alternative that may improve vaccine access and uptake—especially for those with needle phobia—and could even be distributed by mail during pandemics.

GeoMatch - Express Entry
GeoMatch: Revolutionizing Settlement for Express Entry Immigrants in Canada
On July 4, 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) introduced the GeoMatch Algorithm, a groundbreaking tool designed to enhance the economic integration of Express Entry applicants. Developed in collaboration with Stanford University’s Immigration Policy Lab, this pilot project aims to guide skilled immigrants to regions in Canada where their skills, education, and experience align with local labor market needs.
What is GeoMatch?
GeoMatch is an AI-powered tool that uses machine learning to analyze vast datasets, including Express Entry candidate profiles, labor market trends, and community factors like settlement services and housing affordability. By evaluating an applicant’s qualifications—such as education, work experience, language proficiency, and occupation—it generates personalized recommendations for optimal settlement locations across Canada. For example, a renewable energy engineer might be matched with Alberta’s clean-tech sector, while a French-speaking teacher could be directed to a Francophone community in New Brunswick.
The tool addresses a long-standing challenge in Canada’s immigration system: many newcomers gravitate toward urban centers like Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, leading to overcrowding, housing pressures, and underemployment in certain fields. Meanwhile, smaller cities and rural areas face labor shortages in sectors like healthcare, trades, and technology. GeoMatch aims to balance this by promoting regional immigration and directing candidates to areas with better job prospects and community support
Key Features of GeoMatch
Personalized Recommendations: GeoMatch tailors suggestions based on individual profiles, considering skills, language abilities, and job market demands, while factoring in preferences for urban or rural settings.
Data-Driven Insights: It integrates real-time labor market data, wage trends, and regional economic needs to ensure matches align with employment opportunities.
Support for Integration: Recommendations include access to settlement services, such as language training and housing support, to facilitate smoother transitions.
Voluntary Participation: Express Entry candidates can opt to use GeoMatch during the pilot phase, with the freedom to choose or disregard its suggestions.
Benefits for Express Entry Applicants
GeoMatch offers significant advantages for skilled immigrants under the Express Entry system, which manages applications for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, and Federal Skilled Trades Program:
Improved Economic Outcomes: Studies suggest that immigrants following GeoMatch recommendations are more likely to secure well-paying jobs, as the tool matches them to regions where their skills are in demand.
Regional Opportunities: By highlighting opportunities in smaller cities or rural areas, GeoMatch helps alleviate urban congestion and supports Canada’s goal of regional economic growth.
Enhanced Integration: Access to tailored settlement services in recommended locations fosters quicker adaptation, benefiting both newcomers and host communities.
Alignment with Immigration Goals: The tool supports Canada’s 2025–2027 Immigration Levels Plan, which emphasizes sustainable integration and transitioning temporary residents to permanent residency.
Pilot Phase and Future Potential
Currently in a voluntary pilot phase, GeoMatch is being tested with select Express Entry applicants to refine its algorithm and assess its impact. IRCC aims to evaluate how well the tool improves employment outcomes and regional distribution. The pilot aligns with Canada’s broader immigration strategy, including reducing permanent resident admissions to 395,000 in 2025 and prioritizing in-Canada transitions for temporary residents, such as Ukrainians under the CUAET program.
While GeoMatch is not a substitute for immigration counseling, it complements existing services by providing data-driven guidance. However, challenges remain, such as ensuring accessibility for those with limited digital literacy and addressing regional infrastructure constraints like housing. Future iterations could expand GeoMatch to other immigration streams, such as the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), or integrate it with settlement services for refugees.
How It Fits with Express Entry
Express Entry ranks candidates using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), based on factors like age, education, and language skills. GeoMatch does not affect CRS scores but enhances the system by guiding candidates to locations that maximize their potential post-arrival. For instance, a candidate with a moderate CRS score could still succeed by settling in a region with high demand for their occupation, potentially boosting their eligibility for PNPs, which add 600 CRS points.
To explore GeoMatch, eligible Express Entry candidates can check updates on IRCC’s website or consult licensed immigration professionals. The tool is accessed through the IRCC secure account during the profile creation process, with recommendations provided as part of the pilot.

Building Strong Digital Foundations: The Power of Backend Development in Canada
Performance, scalability, and security are non-negotiable in today’s world. Whether it’s a fintech platform managing sensitive transactions or a healthtech application handling patient data, the digital experience hinges not only on visual interfaces but also on a well-engineered backend.
As Canadian enterprises evolve and compete globally, the need for specialized backend solutions has surged. From Toronto’s fintech corridors to Vancouver’s vibrant startup hubs, businesses are now recognizing that a robust backend is not just infrastructure — it’s a growth enabler.
What Defines a High-Performance Backend?
Backend development serves as the logic layer behind any digital application. It processes requests, stores and retrieves data, manages authentication, and orchestrates the application’s overall flow. It includes:
API development for secure and scalable communication.
Database design to ensure optimal data management.
Cloud integration for performance and uptime.
Security protocols including encryption, role-based access, and tokenization.
Performance optimization through caching, load balancing, and asynchronous handling.
Every action a user takes on a digital interface — whether signing in, making a purchase, or uploading a file — relies on a sequence of backend operations. Without a solid backend structure, even the most attractive frontend becomes fragile.
Why Backend Matters in the Canadian Tech Landscape
Canada is quickly becoming a competitive hotspot for technology innovation. Backed by government incentives, a rich talent pool, and a strong startup ecosystem, companies are accelerating their digital transformation. In this landscape, backend development becomes central for a few key reasons:
1. Data Compliance & Security
Canada follows strict data protection laws such as PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act). Any software dealing with personal or financial information must ensure data localization, encryption, audit logging, and breach prevention strategies. These elements reside within the backend layer.
2. Multi-Language, Multi-Region Support
Canadian businesses often operate in both English and French markets. A scalable backend allows seamless localization and content delivery in multiple languages, ensuring consistent performance across regions without duplicating resources.
3. Cloud-Native and Serverless Infrastructure
Modern backend systems in Canada are being built on cloud-native frameworks — AWS Canada Central, Google Cloud Montreal, and Azure Canada East are all actively leveraged. These environments allow dynamic scaling and reduced latency, critical for businesses targeting both domestic and North American users.
Industry Use-Cases Demanding Advanced Backend Systems
Fintech
From secure transaction processing to user authentication and real-time notifications, fintech apps require high-throughput backends with fail-safe recovery, zero downtime, and ironclad compliance.
HealthTech
Medical applications demand secure storage of health records, HIPAA compliance (especially for apps targeting US-Canada cross-border operations), and real-time synchronization across mobile and web platforms.
E-Commerce
Dynamic product listings, inventory synchronization, secure checkouts, and personalized recommendations are all backend-driven functions essential for scaling e-commerce operations in Canada’s competitive retail market.
SaaS Platforms
Canadian SaaS startups are deploying microservice-based backend architectures to modularize features, improve deployment agility, and serve enterprise-grade performance with high concurrency support.
Choosing the Right Stack for Backend Success
There’s no one-size-fits-all technology stack for backend systems. However, the choice must reflect the business scale, performance goals, and future scalability needs.
Popular Backend Languages and Frameworks in Canada
Node.js: Ideal for real-time applications and microservices.
Python (Django/Flask): Offers rapid development for AI-driven platforms and data-heavy applications.
Java (Spring Boot): Preferred for enterprise-grade systems needing rock-solid performance.
PHP (Laravel): Popular for content-rich platforms and fast web apps.
Key Tools and Technologies
Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Firebase
DevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes
Monitoring Tools: Prometheus, New Relic, Grafana
Authentication: OAuth2, JWT, LDAP
Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (all with Canadian regional support)
Hiring for Backend Excellence in Canada
The growth in demand has led to a rise in specialized service providers offering backend software development Canada tailored for both startups and enterprises. Many Canadian firms now offer backend audits, architectural consulting, and dedicated development teams to help businesses build systems that don’t just work — but perform, scale, and endure.
Similarly, backend app development Canada services are now focusing on delivering API-first applications that can smoothly integrate with multiple frontends — be it mobile, web, or IoT.
Key Traits to Look for in a Backend Partner
Security-first mindset: Especially important for finance, healthcare, and education sectors.
Cloud fluency: The ability to architect for scalability and fault tolerance.
Experience with Canadian data laws: Ensures compliance and risk mitigation.
Performance optimization skills: For applications expected to grow rapidly.
Cross-functional collaboration: Effective backend development demands seamless communication with frontend, DevOps, and QA teams.
Conclusion
The success of modern software hinges not on visual appeal alone, but on the invisible mechanisms that keep it running. Backend development is no longer a secondary thought — it’s the core of user experience, data integrity, and future scalability.
Businesses investing in high-quality backend software development Canada and backend app development Canada are laying the groundwork for long-term growth, stability, and user trust. In an era where milliseconds matter and data is gold, the backend is where true innovation begins.

How AI Overviews and Answer Engines Are Changing SEO for Canadian Businesses in 2025
Picture this: You’re sipping your morning coffee in Toronto, or maybe logging in from a cozy office in Vancouver, and you type a question into Google. Before you even blink, you’re greeted with a perfectly summarized answer—no need to click, scroll, or dig. Welcome to the new era of search, powered by AI Overviews and answer engines.
Tumblr media
For Canadian businesses, this isn’t just a tech update—it’s a seismic shift in how customers discover brands, services, and solutions.
The Dawn of AI Overviews: Not Just Another Google Update
Remember when SEO was all about keywords, backlinks, and maybe a sprinkle of local citations? Those days aren’t gone, but the rules have changed. In 2025, Google’s AI Overviews are rewriting the playbook. These AI-powered summaries pull the best bits from trusted websites and serve them up directly in search results. It’s fast, it’s efficient, and it’s changing the way Canadians interact with search engines.
A Quick Reality Check
Over 13% of Google searches in Canada now trigger an AI Overview—a number that’s been climbing month after month.
Industries like IT, healthcare, education, and professional services are seeing these AI-driven answers dominate search results.
The result? Zero-click searches are on the rise. Your potential customers might get the info they need without ever visiting your website.
Why Should Canadian Businesses Pay Attention?
Let’s put ourselves in the shoes of a business owner—maybe you run a boutique in Montreal, a dental clinic in Calgary, or a tech startup in Ottawa. You’ve invested in a beautiful website, partnered with a reputable SEO optimization company, and watched your rankings climb. But suddenly, your traffic plateaus or even drops. What gives?
Tumblr media
Here’s the twist: Even if you’re ranking #1, AI Overviews might be stealing your spotlight. The content Google’s AI chooses to showcase gets prime real estate, while traditional organic listings get pushed further down.
The Stakes Are Higher Than Ever
Authority is king: Google’s AI only trusts the best. If your content isn’t up to snuff—well-researched, well-written, and authoritative—it won’t make the cut.
Local intent matters: AI Overviews are increasingly triggered by local searches, so your business info needs to be accurate everywhere.
User intent is everything: The AI is smart enough to understand what people really want—not just what they type.
How Can You Win in the Age of AI Overviews?
1. Become the Go-To Expert Think beyond keywords. Share your unique insights, real-world experiences, and industry know-how. If you’re a Canadian business, highlight what makes you different—local expertise, community involvement, or even your story.
2. Craft Content for Humans (and AI) AI Overviews love clear, concise, and well-structured answers. Use bullet points, FAQs, and summaries, but don’t lose your brand’s voice. Tell stories, share case studies, and offer actionable advice.
3. Embrace Technical SEO and Structured Data This isn’t just for techies anymore. Schema markup, clean site architecture, and fast loading times help Google’s AI understand and trust your content.
4. Double Down on Local SEO Make sure your Google Business Profile is flawless. Encourage reviews, keep your info updated, and create content that answers local questions.
5. Monitor, Adapt, Repeat SEO in 2025 is a moving target. Use analytics to see which keywords trigger AI Overviews, and tweak your strategy regularly.
Real-World Example: How Canadian Businesses Are Adapting
Take the story of a Toronto-based dental clinic (let’s call them Maple Smiles). They noticed fewer appointment bookings even though their website ranked #1 for “best dentist in Toronto.” After digging deeper, they realized Google’s AI Overview was answering most patient questions directly. By updating their content to answer common dental questions, showcasing real patient reviews, and optimizing for local search, Maple Smiles earned a spot in the AI Overview—and saw bookings rebound.
Why Partner with an SEO Optimization Company in Canada?
Navigating this new landscape isn’t easy. The right search engine optimization agency can help you:
Identify content gaps and opportunities to appear in AI Overviews
Develop a content strategy that balances human storytelling with AI-friendly formatting
Stay ahead of technical and algorithmic changes
Tumblr media
At Shreem Digital, we’re passionate about helping Canadian businesses not just survive, but thrive in this AI-driven world. We blend creativity, data, and the latest SEO strategies to help you stand out—whether you’re a local shop or a national brand.
The Bottom Line
AI Overviews and answer engines are changing the rules of the SEO game in Canada. But with change comes opportunity. By focusing on quality, authority, and adaptability, your business can earn its place in the spotlight—even as the search landscape evolves.
Ready to future-proof your SEO? Let’s connect and create a strategy that puts your business front and center in 2025 and beyond.

It is a chance to gain globally respected qualifications while immersing yourself in a society built on diversity, safety, and innovation. For Indian students, this North American nation presents the perfect blend of affordability, accessibility, and aspirational value.

Why Indian Students Are Choosing Canada

Canteen Worker Prays for “Second Miracle” After Air India Flight 171 Tragedy
Tumblr media
Ahmedabad, June 15, 2025 – A canteen worker at a medical college hostel in Ahmedabad continues a desperate search for his missing daughter and mother—clinging to a slim hope that they might have survived the worst aviation disaster to strike India in decades.
A Canteen Worker’s Desperate Search for His Family
On June 12, 2025, Air India Flight 171, a Boeing 787‑8 Dreamliner flying from Ahmedabad to London–Gatwick, plunged into a medical college hostel in the Civil Hospital campus shortly after takeoff, triggering a devastating explosion and fire. The aircraft, carrying 242 individuals, struck the hostel’s canteen. In the worst combination of in-air and ground fatalities, 271 people lost their lives—241 passengers and crew on board, and approximately 30 people on the ground, including medical students and staff
Despite the horrific toll, one man emerged alive: Viswashkumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old British-Indian seating in 11A near an emergency exit, who managed to escape with minor injuries. His survival has been widely described as a “miracle”
Among those displaced by the disaster is Ravi Thakor, a 38-year-old canteen worker at the hostel.
While delivering lunchboxes outside, Thakor, his wife Lalita, their two-year-old daughter, and his elderly mother were inside before the crash. They are now missing among the recovered casualties. Amid the carnage, Thakor holds onto hope, drawing solace from Ramesh’s survival.
If one of the plane passengers could survive the crash… there could be a second miracle and my mother and daughter could also be safe,” Thakor said to Reuters Lalita added: “We realise that the chances of finding them alive are bleak but we have not given up hope.
Thakor spends his days scouring hospitals and the local morgue in a heart-wrenching search. Authorities have issued DNA verification appeals to families to help match among the charred remains.
Slow DNA Identification
Efforts to identify victims are proceeding slowly. Of the 271 bodies recovered so far, only 32 have been positively identified via DNA testing.
The process is delayed by infrastructural challenges and the condition of the remains.
Authorities are urging relatives to submit DNA samples and dental records to speed up the identification process, but families remain in agonising suspense.
Rescue workers at the site describe harrowing scenes. Burnt personal items, lunch plates, steel tumblers, and shattered belongings lie strewn across tables inside the destroyed canteen—a stark indicator of how abruptly tragedy struck.
Officials are reviewing flight data, black box recordings, and physical evidence. Early investigation suggests issues related to engine thrust, flap deployment, or landing gear malfunction as possible causes
Aviation Oversight & Global Response
In response to the disaster:
Indian aviation authorities have mandated immediate inspections of all Boeing 787 Dreamliners operated by domestic carriers, including Air India and IndiGo
A multi-national investigative team—comprising experts from the NTSB, FAA, Boeing, GE Aerospace, and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)—has been deployed to Ahmedabad to assist
India’s aviation regulator has called for a final investigation panel report within three months, with recommendations for improving flight-safety protocols worldwide
The crash prompted an immediate mass deployment of emergency teams: Firefighters, CISF, CRPF, National Disaster Response Force, state police, local ambulances, and military engineers. The Ahmedabad airport suspended operations temporarily before resuming under limited capacity to support relief efforts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the crash site, offering condolences and meeting survivors, including Ramesh. Meanwhile, the Tata Group—parent company of Air India—pledged compensation and medical coverage for victims’ families in line with the Montreal Convention and added financial packages for ground casualties.
Viswashkumar Ramesh’s survival story has riveted global audiences, likened to ultra-rare survivals like that of Zheng Min Li in the Pakistan International Airlines Flight 8303 crash of 2020 .
From his hospital bed, Ramesh described how he escaped via a broken emergency exit, ignoring surrounding flames and fallen passengers. The British-Indian national’s escape highlights both human resilience and the critical role of emergency exit placement.
Questions Surrounding Boeing 787 Safety
This catastrophe adds another layer to longstanding scrutiny over the Boeing 787. In response, regulators have:
Issued fleet-wide inspections of Boeing 787s to investigate any systemic thrust or engine-related issues
engaged Boeing, GE Aerospace, and U.S. experts to participate in technical assessments.
Considered ultimate grounding if fault patterns emerge—though the investigation continues.
This situation comes at a sensitive moment for Boeing, still rebuilding its reputation after past grounding events involving its 737 MAX fleet.
Ongoing Investigation & What’s Next
Authorities are now:
Analyzing flight data recorders, including voice and data black boxes.
Reviewing engine telemetry logs, flap and landing-gear status just before the crash.
Conducting laboratory examinations for any fuel or mechanical anomalies.
The final report—drafted jointly by Indian, U.S., U.K., and manufacturer investigators—will aim to determine the definitive cause and issue safety recommendations. Interim updates will be released in the coming weeks; early indications point toward possible dual-engine issues, but investigators caution that multiple factors may have converged.
A Nation in Mourning
The unprecedented cost of this crash—both human and psychological—is felt deeply across India and the United Kingdom, given the large number of British nationals aboard. Hundreds are now in limbo, awaiting confirmation of remains or the possibility—however remote—of survivors.
Search for Thakor’s Family
As the search for truth intensifies, some tragedies remain profoundly personal. Ravi and Lalita Thakor continue daily visits to hospitals and morgues, refusing to abandon hope for their daughter and Ravi’s mother. Their story is a poignant reminder that amid grand tragedies lie intimate stories of love, loss, and persistence.
You can support the identification effort or follow developments through Air India’s official family assistance lines or updates on the DGCA website, which is routinely updated with DNA matching bulletins.
