A first attempt at a lovecraftian, Cthulhuesque stoneware clay sculpture! It's quite small (~11cm tall) and the surface is nice to the touch and looks good. The glaze is great and the underpaint probably adds a but of extra green to it!

There are a few imperfections, and now I know what I want to do differently next time I try something like this. But all in all, I like it.

Special abilities - She can spray toxic ink from her tail flukes and her tendrils sting with venom and bio-electricity.

We're almost at the end of the Creeptober Challenge, but I don't think I can fully avoid addressing the elephant in the room when it comes to Lovecraft . While H P Lovecraft had an outstanding talent for storytelling and we have him to thank for all this fantastic verse, for which a Poe would have patted him on the back appreciatively, there is unfortunately also the latent disgust for anything alien and strange-looking that lurks far too often in his stories - especially where the inhabitants of Innsmouth are concerned, the allegory is painfully clear. All the more reason I felt the need to give the Innsmouth family - who once again fit the Prompt like a bespoke jigsaw piece - a little twist, contrary to the plot usually played out in a human/Deep One relationship. The lady is the Deep One, not the man, there's no gruesome mating ritual or anything going on and we just have a happy little family that happens to fit the Innsmouth look.

Creatures All #77 - Deep One Deep ones are a race of fish-human hybrids with the ability to appear human. They are known to enjoy the company of humans and have even made a longstanding deal with the residents of Innsmouth. They appear in H.P. Lovecraft's works.

A familiar, deep and tremendous voice invades Ferenir's mind while he's with Anika.

"Attempt to break her heart again, and I will shred your soul to dust and cast it into the Void."

The presence then leaves.

On the outside, Ferenir's expression does not change, not even a single bit. As if a well practiced mask, he does not even flinch for a second, continuing normally whatever he is doing. He does not want Anika to notice, both because she shouldn't be concerned, and because he has a good feeling that Mr Deep would prefer she didn't either.

But, inside....

'Good thing you do give a fuck. Took you some time.', was his only thought as their connection ends. A few seconds after, his gaze moves to where he assumes the phantom to be, somewhere hovering above the medium.

It's a complicated gaze. It's harsh, defiant, yet also tired. It's also appreciative, and somewhat relieved.

Maybe 'Mr Deep' isn't beyond saving just yet.
