DEN OF THIEVES: PANTERA (2025) Grade: B-

Slow at first, thought the ending makes up for it. Could have used more action. Not sure if it needed to be over 2 hours as well.

Feels like it always gets to me a bit too much when a character is hurt or inconvenienced by someone else's actions. Doesn't even need to be a big thing. But it is definitely worse when it is a big thing. Like I was watching Den of Thieves 2: Pantera the other day and (I don't consider this spoliers because the film is literally called Den of Thieves), the group steal valuables from a diamond vault that are the responsibility of this one guy to look after. Like this guy literally lives where he works. And then the thieves just leave the vault in shambles as they rob it. Rob a place that is supposed to be impossible to rob. And then this guy has to face that the most secure diamond vault in the world got robbed under his supervision. He looks so fucking devastated.

Film: DEN OF THIEVES: PANTERA (dir. Christian Gudegast, 2025, USA)

Forum: AMC River East 21   Format: DCP

Observations: January is the perfect time to get caught up with that strata of action heroes not quite powerful enough to command a summer or fall release, like Jason Statham, Mark Wahlberg, and Gerard Butler. The second installment in the Den of Thieves franchise takes the action to Europe (though much of it was filmed elsewhere to save a few bucks - Italy and France is mostly rendered digitally). The 80 minutes of exposition necessary to reach the heist is excruciatingly dull, but the electric-car chase nearly makes up for it.

My takeaway from Den of Thieves 2 Pantera is that Nick started to fall for Donnie’s big brown eyes and started to feel gay panic and sent him to French prison to avoid kissing him while rolling on E.

Second Character that'll be in the 2025 Movie Thread piece is Den of Thieves 2: Pantera's Donnie Wilson, played by O'Shea Jackson Jr.

.....You guys can put "Elijah The Cartoonist drawing Ice Cube's Son" in that list of "What I didn't Expect in 2025". But yeah, I saw the movie with my mom, and I thought it was a pretty cool movie. I haven't seen the first one, I don't recall if my mom has, but she wanted to see the movie because he was in it. But it was pretty good, I do wanna check out the first movie. And he was pretty cool too, which I think is expected for this guy.

So yeah, so far, we got Shadow "Keanu Reeves" The Hedgehog and now O'Shea Jackson Jr.
