Dim Sum and Cafes in Taipei

Day 2 of my adventures in Taipei brought me to some of the best places to enjoy dim sum and a relaxing cup of tea in Taipei.

Before my adventures, it was time for a satisfying breakfast at Le Meridien Taipei Latest Recipe which is filled with local favorites such as pork belly and braised pork rice.

Life is good when you can simply wake up from a good night's rest and enjoy a simple french toast with honey comb and a dash of maple syrup for breakfast.

After breakfast, it was time for work and a short stroll around the block to prepare myself for a delicious dim sum lunch.

After dreaming for weeks, I finally have a chance to savor the delicious dim sum at Dim Dim Sum 點點心 which is voted as one of the top dim sum restaurants in the world.

蟹子燒賣皇: One of the best 燒賣 that I have sampled in the last few years. Highly recommended for fans of traditional dim sum.

晶瑩鮮蝦餃: Fresh prawns wrapped in a chewy, juicy dumpling.

脆皮鮮蝦腸: Crispy rice flour rolls filled with fresh prawns which is a refreshing take on traditional steamed versions.

燒汁釀茄子: Pan fried eggplants stuffed with fish paste, paired perfectly with teriyaki sauce.

流沙包: Cute little buns with molten salted egg custard to mark a sweet end to a delicious dim sum feast.

After a heavy lunch, I decided to relax at TSUJIRI 辻利茶舖 with a warm cup of matcha latte.

As evening approaches, one of the best hideaways is Real Guts Cafe 特有种商行 which is opened by award-winning film director, Wei Te-sheng 魏得聖.  The beautiful, quirky cafe is an oasis in the urban jungle and it transports me back in time to appreciate the beauty of a bygone era.

As I enjoy my warm cup of tea, my mind is already wandering to the next gastronomical adventure...
