.. at times the body takes over your disposition and delivers a dictat ..

REST .. 😴

So as obediently as I could, I submitted .. and did what श्री शरीर desired and did that ..

And then it , the body, told me who the superior was .. श्री शरीर !!

It did not however indicate to me what would follow - a lapse in what needed to be done , and others .. so what was scheduled for the day went with the abstract dreams, and put me eventually in the mode it left me in ..

But before that, it gave me a lesson in the factors of time and its passage .. of the doings then and what has become of it now ..

At 83 I would have much to debate , but the platform needs a certain gravitas of expression and understanding , which I might add is a decreasing phenomena in our World of today .. along with many other ..

For .. 7.2 billion have opinions now , which are voluble, garrulous verbose and long-winded , within the range of decibel hearing for the human ear .. and more importantly the mind ..

DO NOT ever feel consumed by inferiority dear ones of our land ..

For this you must accept and know with PRIDE ..

That every 6th human in the entire World is ..

So .. old and past times become not just valuable remembrance .. they bring the ethnic veracity of culture and integrity and the humanities of the ARTS , in reverence to the intellectual !

.. this be the moment when the two ladies by my side , daughters of a dynamic youth leader Shri Rajbans Krishna Khanna , who spent years in jail during the years that India fought for its Independence, entrusted the job of civil defense , by some of the most prominent leaders of the time, in the service of the country, shifted to Mumbai and worked with some of the most revered doyens of Cinema at the time , joined the legendary Bimal Roy as a manager of production ..

and was entrusted the job by none other than Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru , the first Prime Minister of Independent India to make a film on Buddha on his 2500th Anniversary of the Buddha's Parinibbana - the final beatitude , grace , benediction , exaltation ..

and when the time came for the translation of the English Commentary, the work was given by the GOI to Poojya Babuji .. not to give a literal translation, but to use it as a basis for a Hindi version which would have a life of its own ..

there were moments in the film where Rajbans ji wished to shoot inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan , since there was a magnificent statue of Buddha in the Bhavan .. the permission to shoot inside was an issue and I remember Babuji being asked by Rajbans ji, who were known to each other, to seek the permission from the then President Dr S Radhakrishnan, and the permission was procured ..

.. but the story is not over ..

the film was a masterpiece as reviewed by prominent critics of the time - The Times of India - pun unintended - and it was announced that the film would be India's entry at the X Festival International du Film de Cannes in 1957 ..

on the day of the screening the film was seen in pin drop silence followed by a standing thunderous applause .. and later it was announced at the time of the Winners :
